All of the portrait, still life and memorize scene paintings have black spots and speckles, making them plain ugly. These are created by .dds image filters which are used when the camera shutter is clicked for the paintings. I have replaced these filters with a filter of my construction. All is now clear...
Above screeny shows portraits and a memorize scene to the right. Below is a before and after screeny showing one or possibly 2 of the filters in use in default game on portrait to the left; thought I'd include this for those who gave up on the portrait painting 18 months ago and don't recall what it looks like. In the .rar file there are 2 .package files, the 2nd file is optional. This second file changes the colors when painting Still Life Somber paintings. I borrowed the sepia coloring from the photography (sepia photography is still intact), such that somber paintings will sometimes have this sepia type coloration, they can also be blue or a brick red dark painting. The electric pink sometimes used is removed. These changes affect also the insane paintings to a degree, so colors on these can be different. Below is a somber still life and a memorize scene. In the main file I have replaced seven ScreenGrabFilter _IMG resources (found in the Fullbuild0) and two ScreenGrabRamp _IMG resources which give brightness and contrast; these two I've replaced with a couple others which lessen the contrast and brightness. This difference is minimal, but it's there. The 2nd file replaces 3 ScreenGrabRamps, the colors. This mod will function with all versions of the Sims 3 and won't conflict with any known mods or other CC. Additional Credits: Created with the use of S3PE by Peter L. Jones. 1015 people have said thanks to Shimrod101 for this download. For more information about this creator and their policies or details, click here. Screenshots
