Sims keep going back to sidewalk

I have a problem: I recently moved a family out of one house into another; as usual, when I clicked on the new house, they were all on the side walk, ready to be moved in. I did so, played through about a game day, then saved. Next time I opened the same lot they were back on the sidewalk! I thought maybe I'd lost the save, but no, they still had the acquired skills, the house furnishings, etc. from the last "day." I've played several days on this lot now, and every time I re-enter the lot, they're back on the sidewalk. This is getting pretty annoying; does anyone have any ideas?

Have you added or removed any hacks lately? Sometimes this happens to me when I add a hack.... check your downloads with the clean installer, maybe you've installed something which is conflicting. If it is just on the one lot, I'd be looking for a hacked object, maybe.
