I have installed and uninstalledthe SIMS2CleanPackI nstaller many times.I like using
it and seeing the pics of the files I download, but mycomputer looks like it`s doing a "melt down and the colors on my desktop go all funny and distorted when it is activated..Is this a normal thing,or do I have a "bug" ? If I do..how do i fix it?

I've tried to download Sims2CleanPack1.5.1.4. for the first time from sims2pack.modthesims2 site but when I run it a message turn up to say "the file is corrupted or some files is missing, please contact the creator"!
Is there anyone else who have the same problem as I do? is it something wrong with the downloaded file?

Hi all,
I just downloaded the sims2clean installer, but it came with no directions on how to use it. I was told that I should get it because well my favorite passtime is hanging here and downloading all the cool stuff the creators have made. I ran it and one of my favorite downloads has a green line threw it??? I'm confussed as to what this means. I have all ep's up to OFB

I am having a problem with the latest version. When I click to install is after downloading it an error comes up saying that the .exe file is not a valid win32 application. I already downloaded the latest .net file. What could be causing this? Oh and this is my first time DL the Clean Installer.

I deleted and then redownloaded it. It is still showing the same error message. I noticed that the file is only 56kb big and takes less than a second to download... Is that supposed to be true? I tried DL V1.5.1 and the page never loaded though I have DL V1.5.0.2 and it installed without a problem. That is rather odd. Could be a problem with the site? I would still like to DL the latest version though :D Thanx for the help!

Hello all. I downloaded the program and it was fine but then I got a trojan horse or two or three and had to run a program to remove it and all spyware etc from my computer. Now when i try to run it the message: "The application failed to initialiaze properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application." pops up on screen.
I uninstalled it fully and then reinstalled it and still it gives me this problem. I have the same problem with SimPe as well. Any help would be much appreciated.
Oh and I do have all the net frameworks needed and what not.

Edit: I looked up the warning message on the net and found a solution. I just did a reapir of the .net 2.0 framework. Seems it may have been corrupted. So if anyone else has this problem they can do the same.

I have had to delate a lot of my Sims files including the Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer. When I tried to re-install the program it too said I have another version that I needed to delate before installing the program. I looked and the only file I found that still is on my computer is in the Program files: S2PCISE.exe. However, when I try to delate this file it says that access is denied and I cannot delate it. And I cannot install the new Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer.

I am very much in need of this program, the best thing we have for checking the files and I don't want to download any new files unless I have it again. Please, can anyone tell me how to delate the S2PCISE.exe file?

I finally get seasons and now I would LOVE to upload for the first time and start a little collection of houses I built. I need this clean installer but, obviously It doesn't work for seasons.

Anyone know where there is a download for seasons? Or if it exists..

Clean Installer should still be working with Seasons just like it did before it. Nothing has changed in that regard.

Well after trying a number of time's to get it to run and/or even installed I finally got it.

You'll need to make sure you have .net Framework 1.1 and its servicepack from Microsoft.

anyone want to answer the "access denied" question? i was tryign to competely reinstall, as when i put in sims discs i was getting "X" as my error message. Absolutely nothing. I've been deleting files trying to find the problem, and there are two license keys??? they say access denied. PLease hel.p!

Today it began freezing in one of my folders.. hadn't tried any others. Just quits responding.
Hadn't done that before.

Still hadn't found a place to read up on the colored lines in detail.. but seems red is more severely connected to core parts of the game?

EDIT: think it's trying to use an old file to update the program?

The Input string not a correct format is becuase of the web update.

Also, you really should try using the DDO for organising and sorting your downloads. :)

Ok, here's my problem, I try and install a pair of hair styles, but it comes up with this message: "An unhandled expection has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediately.

I have the same problem with reinstalling. It says you have to delete the old one first and I did that, but then nothing. I uninstalled it and it says that I didin't. What gives man, I download all the time and this is upsetting.

hi all. is this normal?? I have never felt that my clean installer looked/worked like other folks did. When I pull up the Sims2Pack Clean Installer, there is a Sims2 icon in the left top corner. There is a zigzag line through it, kinda like Quicktime has when it has been improperly downloaded.

Is this an indication that there is a problem??

My Clean Installer looks different than the screenshots in the manual. I understand the manual, but I am incapable of figuring out how to use it becuse mine doesn't have any icons like it's supposed to. Pease help! I have no idea what to do. I installed the .NET first and I installed the Clean Installer fine, but when I double click on a package, all I get is the picture of the item. I don't even know if I have the packages saved in the right folder. Frankly, I now feel as though I know absolutely nothing about this. Again, to someone who REALLY understand this, please help. I refuse to give up.

A screenshot would help. :) Are you trying to install .package files with S2CI ? The cleaninstaller installs sims2pack files not .package files.

Hi Everyone,

I have tried downloading the updated version....and it says that the file is corrupted, to contact the maker to reload it. I went through all the different step...regedit... to remove the regkey and it still won't work....I had to download one of the older versions, can you please let us know when the updated version is replaced.

You have to use the uninstall function to get rid of this file. I tried to delete the Clean Installer manually, but that doesn't work.

You can't save it over itself. Use Save as and a different file name. Re-name afterwards if you want.

I have tried reinstalling it and received the same error. I have uninstalled the previous version I had and I also followed the information in the "try this" thread and removed the proper reg keys. To no avail I am still unable to run the updated version of the installer.

I have read the stickys and other threads similar to this one and I have not read anything that has been able to assist me. If I missed anything, please point me in the right direction and I will try that, if not ... could someone please help me.

Hi. Well, I downloaded the newest verson of the Sims2Pack Clean Installer 1.5.1.4 from the website so I could post my lovely lot creations. I am trying to use the browse funtion at the top right of screen inorder to locate my .package files from the PackagedLots folder, but when I do, nothing shows up, and it acts as if the folder is empty, even though when I check through my computer, they are clearly there. I read everything there was to read, including the little section of how to package the .package files from the PackagedLots folder in order to put them into the game, and I am still having problems with the program. Is there anything anyone can do to help? I'd really like to contribute my creations to the site, but I also want to follow all the rules and run them through Clean Installer before I upload them. If you know anything, please help! Thanks!

I'm trying to upload three lots; I've saved them as Sims2Packs, opened each with Clean Installer, unchecked all but the lot box, saved the bare-bones files and then installed them to check them out and -- guess what? They're all exact duplicates of the original Packs -- families and all. The "cleaned lots" even have their old names -- nothing was filtered out. The Update button just yields a lot of garbage as depicted above. What's up?

I've read most of the threads to find an answer to this problem but didn't find any - so if I missed it I apologize. But if it isn't here - this is what I tried and it worked.

I tried redownloding it but got the same error - so I redownled and renamed the file by simply adding an "a" to the end and it worked.

Is there any way to switch the user that receives the files? I am unsure whether this error has a solution to it, I've searched the forum, read the stickey's and posts- even followed this "Try This" instructions on deleting reg. keys. So far, nothing. :(

I did indeed try downloading the file again. In fact, I tried all of them! And I receive the same NSIS error for all versions. :( Maybe I ticked off someone in a past life and this is my Karma. ;) hehe.

I tried, yet again, to download the file this afternoon and I got that blasted error. I've searched for any traces of it on my computer, and there's nothing. The register keys weren't even found in regedit! Bleh. I guess it's just not meant for me to have it anymore. :faceslap:

Do you have any download managers on your PC or anything? I'm sure that this error is due to a corrupted download... or possibly you have some kind of malware on your PC causing it to be recognized as corrupted?

Anyway... in the FAQ it says:
What are those empty packages ???
Actually they are package files that have no files inside them. If you have a lot of downloads you might have a lot of those files, some people reported having 300 of them. It is known that they are sometimes created when installing lots.

Well... I'm assuming this refers to the huge chunk of items I have with no "type" and the same MD5. The question is... is it safe to delete them? I assume it is, I just didn't want to without being specifically told to. I mean, if they are formed when creating lots, I wouldn't want to risk messing up lots by deleting them or something.

If the file size is 0kb then they are definitely empty packages, and safe to delete.
