Are you sure it's pink? Because i know that red lines indicate hacks in the game. I've never heard of pink lines before...

Items that are highlighted in pink can be deleted, they are either duplicates of something else in your download folder or as you stated they are empty packages. I usually get lots of empty packages after installing downloaded houses.
Items highlighted in red are game hacks. If you did not download the hack in question it probably came with a downloaded house, and in that case if it is not something you want in your game you should delete it.

You might want to have a read of the manual. It's very short, but it does explain the pink and red lines and gives some useful tips.

if you want to delete files right click and click remove.
you can also disable the hacks by right clicking and the clicking disable package.
just stick all the red ones into a new folder and name it hacks that way you can keep them all together.
also the pink ones are either empty or duplicates.
this can happen if you got files inside sub folders.

So pink files that are also empty packages can be removed, is that right? I just cleaned up duplicates but still have those empty packages marked in pink and I am scared to remove them because I dread having to reinstall all of them if I mess up.
