View Full Version : Remove animation from fountain?
19th Apr 2006, 04:09 AM
I like how my new fountain turned out, but now i need to rid of some of the sparkling water animation. Its too high. So i guess maybe make it smaller would work too. Anyways, How easy/hard would this be to do?
Would someone be willing to help me with it?

I've examined the fountain that I guess you have cloned (the "Florid Font" that came with NL), and I can offer two options:
1) Get rid completely of the effect; this will make your water somewhat "static". In order to do that, open your fountain and select the Text List 0x8F ("Effects"); select the very first line and replace the name with a single dot. Commit and save.
2) Try and lower the "effect slot"; this will lower the entire effect: it will start from halfway down, and will end underground (where no one can see it). In order to do so, open the CRES and select the Hierarchy tab; then select the "slot_fountain_fx" block.
In the left side, within the "Translation" box, you have to edit the Z value, making it lower. For example, if you want to lower the effect by half tile, you have to subtract 0.5 from the current Z value.

I was able to remove the animation of the spouting water from a fountain , as I wanted to make an object out of a fountain but it kept showing the water spouting out , so this is what I did, I am unsure if it will work for anyone else but it worked for me, go in to Simpe, click on "text lists" , then in "effects" I just deleted the first 2 strings out of the "effects" file which where called "ep3-waterspoutsUPEuroFX" and "ep3FountainSudsEuro", I also deleted the "ct - Turn on fountain" file. but
I went in to the game to test, and the the outline of the fountain water was still there but it was not water it was ICE, I have seasons So I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
So I went back in to Simpe and deleted the " Model Bones" file, and it worked, no more water or ice spouting and also, you can still click on the object and get your sim to "view" it.
