View Full Version : Speeding up college

A slightly more picky question than others:

Is there a way to get my Sims through college QUICKLY?

Before you roll your eyes, I have done some research:

1. I know I can use boolProp and get them to Graduate with the click of a mouse, but then I seem to recall they don't get all the benefits that come with graduating properly.

2. No SimPE. Don't have it, don't want it.

3. I know about this thing: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=1236.0
But I am EXTREMELY wary of hacks (aka: I don't download hacks and mods any more, just clothing and hair and lots) because they caused much frustration when I installed University - my game spat the dummy and wouldn't work with various hacks and mods I had already installed. Eventually I found a Help site telling me to delete all the hacks/mods and it worked beautifully. I'd rather not use this hack for this very reason, unless someone can reassure me that it is perfectly safe and will not mess up my game.

If there is already a thread exactly like this one, feel free to sigh and point me in the right direction. My eyes are aching from trawling through the FAQs.

Thanks.

I use the college adjuster. It's very safe as far as i know. I have never had any trouble with it.

I've used that one with no problems, but also this awesome object:

Someone mentioned in another thread to fill their needs, get them done with homework the semester and then have meditate and speed through like that. I tried it for a little bit but I was trying to get 5 sims through school so that was a little more complicated. Also I found some of my sims not having the meditate option.

Hmmm...I might try the university final clock (second one)...only I ticked the 'Disable Custom Content' checkbox thingy and then the 'Do Not Show This Again'...how do I show it again?

(Also, has anyone else discovered the Grilled Cheese aspiration? :) )

Under "Game Settings," if memory serves, there should be something along the lines of "custom content warning" with an enable/disable checkbox - also a field on the same settings tab for choosing whether or not to allow custom content.

Back on the original point, I'd just as soon avoid sending them to college altogether, then use Pescado's lot debugger to upgrade them afterwards were it not for that blasted "grew up uneducated" memory that, near as I can tell, everybody gets regardless of their aspiration... which of course causes them cry for three days, regardless of their aspiration.

Yes, I discovered it using some hack (I don't remember what it's called), I liked that aspiration ... but I had to delete the hack, because it was giving trouble with 'boolprop cheats' (Boolprop-cheats didn't work as long as the hack was in the game...). So now I can't give my sims that aspiration anymore, but is there another way to give that aspiration to a sim?

Of course there is. Simply "buy" the "ReNuYuSenso Orb" aspiration reward (6,250 points) and use it, to switch aspirations, when your sim is at green or lower. When used properly (gold or platinum), it lets you pick another aspiration altogether. Its backfire, however, is that of grilled cheese.

The College Clock worked fine, and my game still works, so that's a plus. I'll use that to get my sims through the tedious college years.

Thanks for the help!

(Thread can now be closed)(unless people want to still talk about grilled cheese)
