I deleted some hair that my sim was using, and now he's kinda busted.

I have a sim in Body Shop who was made with custom hair. Then I deleted that hair from my savedsims folder and have no way to get it back. Now when I try to give him new hair, I can't. The hair colour picker is stuck and none of the categories will load.

I can change his hair in CAS, so could do that and then export him to Body Shop with SimPE - but is there any other way to fix this hair problem? It seems like a nasty bug... the custom hair wasn't even a new mesh or anything, it was just a standard recolour. Is this a known issue? Apologies if it's been answered a million times before. :blink:

Haven't ever heard of it myself, fanseepants... very very odd... Can you change him to a younger/older age in Body Shop and change it at all that way and then switch him back, or is it busted for all ages? If that doesn't work, sounds like your plan of changing him in CAS and then exporting him with SimPE is the way to go.

Nope, it's busted for all ages. Hmph. My Body Shop is so messed up. :(

I have the same problem. I downloaded a couple of sims, but didn't want the hairstyle, so i unticked the box in Clean Installer. When i go into CAS i can change the hair, but in Bodyshop there's no way to change the hair. Same goes for eyebrows.

Same problem in my game, I had to do as you first suggested and create the sim in CAS, exporting with SimPE.

Okay, yeah, this just happened to me, too... I was working on a hair mesh, put it on a sim, made some changes to the recolour and deleted the old recolour that I had been using on that sim... now I can't change his hair at all in Body Shop. I can click the four colours and the * but nothing ever comes up. I even restored the hair recolour he was wearing from my Recycle Bin but I still can't change his hair, and it no longer comes up on him right.

I don't think this problem existed before Open for Business - but it's definitely present now. It appears the solution everyone's using is the only way to do it. Blah!

Yay! Um, I mean... sorry that you guys have this problem too, but kinda glad it's not just me? *kicks OFB* I guess for now we should create our Body Shop sims with standard Maxis hair if we want to keep them safe.

If you re-download the hair you were using before, change it to whatever hairstyle you want, then delete the first hair afterwards, does that work?

It appears that once the sim shows up busted, they're stuck busted - I tried to put the hair recolour that my sim was using back in, and he still wouldn't display properly. Making him in CAS and then exporting him worked fine though.
