View Full Version : Trouble downloading all programs required for SimPE

Hey,
Any computer genius who is willing to help me out please respond. I've spent the last twenty hours or so trying to figure out how to create my own mesh when I found this place and all its fabulous links i thought i was in but i was wrong. For some reason the net 1.1 or w/e won't run on my pc something about it not being win32 compatible. I was wondering if there is another way to make meshes or if someone really nice could tell me how to make it compatible, or if there is a replacement for net 1.1. the other problem is when i installed the other thing (directX for managed code) it wouldn't let me continue without a file called Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3DX.dll and i can't get the file to do w/e it's supposed to. I apologize if this questions been asked before i couldn't find it. Umm and i am not all that good with internet stuff and file changing and things like that playing and winning pc games is more my speed so you might need to be prepared to dumb it down a bit for me.

Could you please post the exact error you are getting when you are trying to install .net framework? Also, please could you check that your DirectX is installed correctly, and post the specs of your computer as detailed here:

I get an error message that says dotnetfx.exe is not a valid win32 application and my specs are
Name: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip Type: GeForce Go 7300
DAC Type: Integrated Ram DAC

First, update your graphic drivers which should help with the DirectX error:

Then, download the .net framework again:

What says it couldn't be downloaded- the drivers or the .net framework? What is the exact error?

The drivers it said that i had to to wait for a better connection or try again later and i've tried over and over later and i have excellent connection

Well I'm not trying to do that anymore because my computer says my drivers is updated as far as it can go so now i'm going to try and redownload the net 1.1 framework or w/e but i'm pretty sure i already have cause i checked my pc for stuff and it says i have net 1.1 already.

Okay can you tell me what i need to download to make and/or edit meshes
I have milkshape 3D and SimPE but I have all the EP's for the Sims 2 so i don't want to screw it up
