SimPE Recolored downloads and AL...

Since I have the latest version of SimPE, ive never had a problem before downloading recolored items, but since I installed the latest EP, Apartment Life, downloaded recolored items do not show up in my game. Since the SimPE is required to recolor my cc, I opened it to find a message that said that the version of SimPE I have could still run but could cause errors because it couldn't consider expansion packs above Kitchen and Bath. It said that I could run it at my own risk. So I have three questions, first is there a more recent version of SimPE that I can download that works with Apartment Life?? And second if that isn't the case should I try to get the SimPE I currently have to run, even though it says it isn't recommended, will it corrupt my game in some way?? And third, if SimPE can no longer be used for in game appearance of my downloaded recolored CC, is there another download I can get, another link to that download, I mean how have the rest of you been getting your (not created) downloaded recolored CC ??

SimPE is not yet publicly updated for Apartment Life. There is a QA version that you have to sign up to access on their forums, but either way, SimPE is not your problem.
SimPE is safe to use with Apartment Life as long as you don't try using the Neighborhood Browser. The QA version -does- work okay with the Neighborhood Browser but because it is still in testing, may have some bugs (hence why it's not a public release).

You need to reinstall CEP (found here on MTS2) to get those items working. Custom recolours of Maxis items may require the CEP and new EP installs can cause items requiring the CEP to stop working.

You can go to http://simpeforum.ambertation.de/?section=simpeforum&action= and click on "groups" near the top left, pull down till you get QA then you will see some options to apply.

But the full public version is likely to be out during the coming weekend if not before, so you may like to wait that little bit longer.
