Greetings fellow simmers.

My wife has been a fan of the game series for a long time and now she's convinced me to give it a try as well. However I am not overly enjoyed with the thought of having to install all expansions and stuff except for Pets on my PC, so I tried copying over the game with the registry keys from her XP PC to my Vista PC, but with no luck so far. :(

I googled and used this (http://gnatgosplat.wikidot.com/sims2#toc6) guide as a base and built my own .reg backup based on the folders he included (later expansions included ofcourse). When I start up Apartment Life it gives me an install / missing data error and the launcher flags everything as not being installed, even though I've imported the registry keys and copied the game to the same folder as on the other PC.

Any suggestions on how to fix this or am I looking at hours of installing? :turtle:

Thanks in advance.

Just install it normally - doesn't take long.

Also installing on multiple computers is illegal. Hopefully your wife is uninstalling it on her machine and no longer using it there..

Ah, I see. Thanks for the heads up on that. Guess I'll try it out on hers then.
