Ok, this may seem like a very dumb question...but:

Is there any way to set up recolors so that when using *that particular recolor* it will have its own catalog description if you click on it/mouseover in catalog? Not only do I absolutely hate forgetting who made OTHER recolors for objects that I've downloaded, especially for paintings, where I'm very anal about knowing what artist REALLY did it.... but I'm trying to share my own art, and egomaniac as it might sound, I *really* don't like the idea that as ordinary recolors of existing meshes, if they're shared around on the 'net, no one will know who did the artwork =/ (In fact, my studio manager is reeeally flat out against my doing ANY Sims 2 work with my art unless I can stamp my name on it since I do want it to be free...)

I plan to do my own meshes at times, but it'd be nice too if I could just do recolors of maxis or other folks' items with it still attributing the graphics to me.

Nope. Can't.

I believe if you use your registered username and password for your GUID block, then it'll put that as part of the mouseover you'll see when you have testingcheatsenabled on recolours - makes it easier to identify where they came from. That, and you can just give the file a descriptive name.

To be honest, if you're -that- worried about your stuff getting credited and shared then you might be better off keeping it to yourself. Considering it seems the average age of sims 2 players is about 15 and people happily steal things left and right without credit, the likelihood of someone's work getting stolen is relatively high. For most people, saying "use how you like, just credit me, thanks" is plenty, but if you're going to flip out if someone doesn't provide that, then maybe personal use is the best way.
