Can you adopt strays on community lots?

The title says my question. I have had a 100/100 with the stray(using testingCheatsEnabled) but the stray isn't friends with my sim but my sim is. Can you adopt them or not? And if so is there a special way? No hacks though because my mom has that problem.

Pretty sure you need to be on your home lot, and the stray needs a 100/100 relationship to your sim too.

The stray does but he's not friends with the sim though. Thanks for the reply HP:)

Yeah that's true but from the Pets Manual its says that the min. relationship to adopt is 70 and i agree with you HP, its always best to have a 100/100 relationship also to make sure its not rejected.

CORRECTION: i found my manual and it say 60/60 on the relationship to adopt a stray.

I've had Sims adopt strays on community lots as long as the relationship was high enough with no problem and I wasn't using any cheats to do it.

How come none of the animals I make a good relationship with don't come back to my house again? Like is there an easier way to make that same animal come back..? without hacks.

Yes, I have the same problem as savemykisses. I had my sim interact with the stray but the relationship was not quite high enough to adopt before he went away. I was hoping he would come back at some other time to continue building our relationship, but so far, no sign of him.

I never got an answer to this, obviously.. but eventually I just had to wait it out for the stray to show up again, most of the time they do. I had a hard time because they'd always come back while the person with the relationship was at work, unfortunately.. good luck! (:

I had a sim adopt Rover while she was at the park.

Hmm I am not sure how to make them reappeare without hacks. But I do know the pet has to be friends with the sim as well.

Were you eventually able to adopt the stray? If not, try going to community lots to find it.

It may take a while but with no cheats I built a relation ship wit a stray. Well the stray left before I could befriend it. I am not exact on how many sims days but it did come back. I know this isn't helpful cause maybe you had plans for this stray but the only thing i could suggest is wait and if u can't well than i am sorry.
