Dance comps

I got my sims to have a dance contest and all they did was stand there, kind of sway and chat a bit.
What am I doing wrong??

there weren't enough sims on the lot to start a dance contest. try again. It may be that your compouter can't support too many sims on a community lot, dunno.

From what I've played, there needs to be at least four sims in a dance contest. If its less, they will stand and talk to the other contestant before just walking off.

And, if they are doing it on the secret hobby lot, it doesn't work well. That lot is borked. Sometimes you can get one competition in before the DJ errors. :/ Big thread at MATY in the freetime bork list. This is one bug that seems to affect a lot of folks..including me.
