View Full Version : Lifetime Aspiration not going up?

If I'm not being thick, the lifetime aspiration goes up when your sims' wants are fulfilled quickly and often and when a "positive" significant event - say graduating from college or getting a first kiss - occurs, yes? I haven't had the time to go through these significant events yet (unless a few dream dates count), but my sims' aspiration meters are always kept high at either gold or platinum. Still the lifetime aspiration meter refuses to budge! It barely fluctuates; I can see it dropping a quarter of a square occasionally, but I just can't get it to go up!

Anyone experiencing this? Or am I just not getting the gist?

Hmm, I actually think it has to do with the wants AND fufilling a hobby point, because I had Stevie (one of my sims I love playing) play with his violin (he's a music hobby) and I noticed his lifetime aspiration go up a bit each time he gained a hobby point. So maybe doing their predestined hobby (or change it if you don't like it, there's a hack over @ Simwardrobe that allows you to change it) will help get their points up.

I hope that helps. :)

Only the aspiration meter counts. Every day it takes a notice: if it's gold, the lifetime bar will full a bit, if platinum, it will fill a bit more ^.^

One thing I seem to notice is that sims at University gain points for the lifetime aspiration meter MUCH slower! But then it could be just a glitch in my game...

Now I'm curious - at what time does it notice? Is it just a random moment throughout the day or is it precisely at a predetermined time, like when they grow up?

I have two toddlers twins who have already fulfill their lifetime aspiration, in one Sim week roughly and with aging off (they are still toddlers, I like this age :p). They have sport and fitness as predestined hobby (see with the Paladin tool) but they maximize their favorite competence (charisma and mechanical via their favorite toys, I have let them play) with a lot of desires and aspiration points in the learning. So I guess platinum bar and aspiration points play in the lifetime aspiration. :)
