Hello!
Have you read the great news at snootysims?
They found 2 new stuff packs called h&m stuff and celebration stuff!
what do you think about it? what kind of creation do you want to see in these packs! do you think that the h&m stuff pack includes creations from the h&m store??

I think the celebration stuff pack will be great! maybe some more items to get a great party?!?

I'm not so interested, I haven't really been impressed with the stuff packs that've already been released. 'Celebration' SP is probably to give something to those "House Party" fans.

H&M stuff pack? Hm. The clothes company is the only thing that comes to mind, but it could stand for something else I guess. These might just be "work-in-progess" titles though.

TWO new stuff packs?! For gods sake maxis, I don't care if you charge £20 per expansion pack, just stop ******* us about with these pointless little stuffpacks!

I shall check them out anyway though... :P

I am sooooo anti-stuff pack but I WILL buy the Celebration one if it comes with the giant cake that the dancer jumps out of from TS1:House Party. :D

well, i liked glamour and family fun stuff pack, but didn't like much happy holiday... I though they would add more halloween stuff, and maybe thanksgiving, or other holidays stuff... I also didnt like much it not beein an actual stuff pack as FF and glamour... Its just like that old objects pack... no new splash screen, nor music... just a few objects... a shame -.-

i dont knwo what the heck is H&M, but if celebration puts up some party on sims lives, it will probably be good :]

I have all EPs and SPs so far, so I'm sure I'll end up with these too. I thought FFS was pointless, but I did like some of the Glamour Life objects.
I can't for the life of me think of what H&M stuff pack could possibly be about.

Good news? Not in my opinion. Even if I don't like the stuff packs I really should still buy them anyway because future lots will require them. I have FFS which is okay I guess, though I do like some of the new music. I don't have Glamour Life yet. Maybe if the amount of new items was bumped up from 60 to 90 these stuff packs would be more worth buying.

I wonder what H&M is, but whatever Celebration will have should have been part of Happy Holiday Stuff.

More stuffpacks? ): Why don't they spend more time on EPs instead?

I've never bought stuffpacks so far but... the H&M one made me curious. I like the clothing the H&M store has.. :giggler: So if it is that, maybe it will be interesting.

On the other hand... Maxis isn't really famous for their clothes-making skills. So... eh. Would it look that good? I'm curious. :)

New Stuffpacks? I'll buy them anyway, since I try to keep my game complete... But why 2? can't they put all these objects into 1 stuff pack... this can only mean 1 thing: EAGames is into our money again... sigh... why don't they put more time in the EP... Just once in my life I would like a EP that does not need a patch...

(I do hope they realise the money in my pockets is MINE, not theirs!!!)

Well, I'm going to ruin the atmosphere by saying hooray, as I'm a big stuff pack fan! I loved both FFS and Glamour, so I would buy more packs. Bit worried about the H&M one though, that's a joke surely? I thought it said S&M at first too! M&Ms would be better, the sims and chocolate yum!

I actually like the stuff packs too, since I would rather have maxis objects than custom ones. The celebration one sounds great! I bet it has a lot of cool party stuff in it such as streamers and new balloons. I have no idea what the H&M one is though! I guess I'll wait and see on that one.

Stuff packs and the shitty publicity EA Portugal is doing here, is taking the crap out of me and mine consideration for the game and EA Games...

What if... a band that copies musics from another foreign bands, and that just exists because the obsession for the Soap Operas in Portugal, specially, Teen Soap Operas, then it sucks...

Sims 2: Life Stories will came with something related to that shitty band ''4 taste'' in the Portuguese version...be afraid!! It looks like the ''owner'' of that band (TVI - A TV channel) made a deal with EA Games and EA Portugal, to publicity the band and the game - Mutual help...

I loved the stuff packs, especially the Glamour one! I just got ffs last week, its a little sucky :( I think it might be kewl if they made stuff packs specific to the eps, like a Business sp, Nightlife sp, etc. Id like more options for businesses.

Well, Celebration doesn't interest me that much but I don't know much about it so I might change my mind. H&M, no clue what it is so I can't say if I'll buy it or not. I didn't buy FF or GL so I probably won't buy these.

I'm curious as to whether or not the Celebration Stuff pack will be a mixture of "Glamour Life Stuff Pack"---type objects (e.g. formal attire and "rich Sim" things) with "New Year's"--type objects (e.g. fireworks and new toasting glasses) from the Holiday Stuff Pack(s) all rolled into a new Stuff Pack called "Celebration Stuff"....especially since a pre-order gift is a formal dress. But, perhaps they will add some birthday objects or something.....

Hmmm... I'm not as hyped about the stuff packs either. By and large they are just a bunch of new items and clothes tossed together, which you can technically make yourself or download too. Lot of work, yeah, but what I'm trying to say is, they rarely really add something to the core game. I bought the holiday pack because it had a lot of christmas items, which are neat in combination with Seasons, but other than that...

And what is 'celebration stuff' going to have really? I mean, when I think about celebration, I think about holidays as christmas. But we already had those. So what's next? Easter? I don't care about easter stuff all that much... :/.

Unless it contains party items as some others suggested... But then again, didn't we already have Nightlive for that?

I need to know what H&M means.. its killing me!
could it be Happily Married? more objects, clothes - maybe a NPC priest for weddings?!

bah, it could be anything.

i have al the stuff packs because i do prefer maxis objects over custom content, and i wasn't too fussed on happy holidays. however, i though glamour life was ok as there was quite a lot of objects and houses etc.

I don't think you could have hospitals and medicine as just a stuff pack it would have to be a whole EP. Hair and makeup yes possibly.

If the Celebrations pack has a costume trunk (like the one from TS1), where you can have all sims change their clothes for whatever party you are having, that would be nice.

I'm not really a big fan of stuff packs. There are always a couple items from each one that I like, but there's never enough there to make it worth the money for me. I can generally find a greater variety of the same type of stuff, better quality, and mostly for free online.

hmmm... celebration sp might be marriages and birthdays and possibly community lot wedding arches. and new party options over the phone, and like, streamers and new cakes.
H&M might be... well, the first thing that springs to mind is harry and molly but i doubt they'll make a whold SP about my siblings :p i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Amazon.com had the Celebration Stuff pack available for pre-order up until today or yesterday, now it says the page no longer exists, sadly. However, I did manage to see the picture of the front cover and basically all the stuff was like wedding, valentines, fancy party, maybe easter. There were some new formal clothes, a new trellis-like arch with flowers and ribbon, there was a heart-shaped picture/poster, a wedding cake (it didn't look big enough to fit a dancer, though), fireworks, an outdoor standing umbrella thing, and I think a new barbecue...the stuff looked decent, but not really anything to be clamored over...like the other Stuff Packs. Also, I tried attaching a the Amazon thumbnail for the pack...I hope it works.

H&M is a clothing store, based mostly in Europe but it has a few stores in New York, Boston and LA (actually I think those are the only ones). They have cute, trendy clothing for reasonable prices hence why every time you enter one there is an hour wait for the dressing room. It's pretty annoying.

My guess is that EA teamed up with the store to make a clothing stuff pack featuring their clothes. If so, that would be great. Finally, cute clothing from Maxis!

I actually like the stuff packs- Glamour sp changed the way I play! I used to play with lots of goth/vampire/castle stuff but now all my sims live like footballers wives! The H&M pack sounds kewl, I like the idea of a game teaming up with a store, but isn't H&M a womans clothes store? I've only ever been there once as they've only just opened in Ireland, but I got a really cute top there.

SJane3384
1st Mar 2007, 03:04 AM
The H&M pack is based on the store (doesn't anyone else do those stupid surveys when they install their new games? One of the surveys had a question that went something like "How interested would you be in purchasing a stuff pack based on H&M stores?") If they come out with that SP I will absolutly scream. And it will seriously damage any respect I had for Maxis/EA. IMHO RL branded ANYTHING in the Sims is a huge mistake and not worth my time/money. As far as Celebration stuff goes, if it's priced $20 or lower, and it includes some new interactions or options (ie being able to choose wedding attire) then I will buy it, but otherwise I'd much rather dl stuff from fansites. I will definately not rush out and buy it like I did with Seasons or Pets.

DOWN WITH STUFF PACKS!!!!!!!! LONG LIVE THE TRADITIONAL EP!!!!!!!!!

Also...not that this has to do with anything, but I read somewhere recently that Will Wright has started letting his 12yo make some decisions regarding The Sims. I wonder if this isn't why some of the ideas from Maxis lately have been so crappy *cough*Family Fun Stuff*cough*

Daphne

My guess is H&M is hair and makeup. We all seem to love downloading and a lot of us paying for hair so maybe Maxis might finally be giving us some worthy hair, and the default make-up is all pretty useless and bland.

I am on the fence about SP's. I like a lot of the things they bring, but they are so small. I really wanted a butler with Glamour and was teased by the pics thinking we were getting one.

dream_operator23

You know I agree with Jane about the H&M pack. I mean if the clothes are really great I'll probably get it, but I hope they don't have English words and stuff on them. That's one thing I have always liked about the sims. They live in their own little world with their own language and stuff. In fact I don't download objects or clothes that have English on them either. It just spoils the effect in my opinion. So if the clothes are cute and with no name brands on them I'll probably get it, but I don't think I would if the clothes had English letters on them.

As for Celebration Stuff, I don't know if I'll get it or not. I have every stuff pack so far, but I want to see if it adds something that I just have to have. LOL! Oh and everyone knocks Family Fun, but I use the furniture and clothes from that stuff pack way more than any other. I just really love the matching bedrooms for the kids and that had been something that I had wanted for the game for a long time. I like the Glamour Life stuff, but since it is all so expensive in the catalogue my sims rarely have enough money to afford the stuff. The clothes are great though.

I think Maxis is maybe trying to drown out CC. There seems to be a new SP or EP every 3 months or so. My wallet really cant keep up. Although if one of the SP's was better than usual Maxis clothes, I would definately have to check it out. They really need to make an SP that fixes ugly townies.

You can de-customise custom clothes - there's a tutorial on it (by Jordi, I think) in Peasentry at MATY.

Currently, I'm only using Maxis clothes and furniture, to keep loading times down, so I'm extremely interested in H&M stuff. I agree with earlier posters, that it means the shop. Google it, and you'll see why.

Actually, not at all. It's both for men and women, and the clothes are really great. There are a lot of H&M stores here in France, and it's my favorite shop. The clothes are cute, trendy and quite chic imo (of course, some things are horrible, but you hafta have some taste :).
Anyway, although Celebratoin sounds dreadful, I'd probably get it (I like Maxis clothes better than custom ones), but I think H&M SP will be much better and really cool :)

I think they are just trying to cater to Simmers who don't download cc and also milk the Sims cash cow for all that it's worth. I don't see why they would be against custom content, it drives their business. This game wouldn't be so popular if not for custom content and the eps get old pretty quickly. If not for cc, I probably would have stopped playing the game after University.

I agree with the poster who said they wouldn't want English on the clothing. If it is H&M, the store, which I think it is, I'll probably buy it because they have cute clothes there but I don't want to see "H&M" plastered on their shirts like Guess or FCUK does. Though IRL, H&M doesn't do that so I'm not too worried.

Celebrations looks okay but not enough for me to buy it. I wish they would make smaller packs with just 5-10 objects that we could download for $7 USD. Like, there are some items that I would want in celebrations but not a lot and definitely not enough to make me buy it.

I doubt the H&M expansion is about the clothing store, since when have you seen Maxis make ANYTHING with a real brand on it? I doubt they would pick a clothing store to begin using real life brands inside the game. They picked a name that would keep people guessing and talking about it, and the more people talk about it, the more publicity the stuff pack gets, without having to advertise. All about the marketing =)

Remember the Alienware computer?? That's a real life brand.
Anyways, they have had artists doing the music, so why not clothes?

Although, one could disapprove of the commercialization of the sims brand,
I like to get quality content to the sims games, so I don't mind. The packs
might even turn out to be cheaper if they keep this trend up.

I personally doubt I'll buy them, simply because it's not worth the money for decorative items, especially since you can download a lot of better items for free. Celebration has potential imo, but I still doubt I'll bother buying it.

I probably won't buy either. I have never bought a stuff pack, although I do find Glamour rather intriguing...

I hope hope HOPE the H&M pack isn't the clothing store. Honestly... I don't mind real artists' music being in the sims, but a stuff pack dedicated to a RL clothing store... That's overly commercialised, and I personally find it a little disturbing.

I'll still get it if it's from the H&M store but I have no idea what that store sells as far as styles. I just found out that here in Michigan we have an H&M store, lol. :)

I really do hope it's Hair & Makeup, though! Oh my God, what if it is and they finally decided to convert all the hairstyles to all ages, along with new ones, and new makeup? That would be the best pack ever! :)

I don't know why people are upset if it is H&M the store. How many cc clothing skin artists use the designs from real fashion houses? Phat farm jackets, Gucci dresses and sunglasses, LVMH handbags, the "as seen on" collections are so popular. How is that any different from what Maxis is doing except it will probably look a lot nicer.

I really doubt H&M stands for Hair and Makeup or Home and Magic or Hamburgers and Mussels or anything else but the store. If it was any of that, they would have just said it instead of saying H&M because you only use ampersands (&) when you are combining two proper nouns like names and usually only for companies. If it was "hair and makeup", they would have used "and" and not an ampersand.

Not ANOTHER stuff c****y Pack! I dont have family fun or celebration although i was enticed by glamour life! Sooo glamourous but even so here in britain its about £10!

Most of thge stuff on that celebration pack can be downloaded on cc sites!
