Which defaults does everyone use?

At the moment im using, Louis' (from simcribblings) default skins from MTS2, and Helaene's eyes. Also face replacements by selzi!

Whats the best defaults out there and which ones are you using? :)

I made my own defaults using some of enayla's skintones and someone over at SFV was nice enough to do a slight edit on Enayla's Pixie Bronze which I use for skintone 2.
I also made my own default eye colors - Reverie (over at SFV, who also edited the Pixie Bronze for me) did some darker colors of some of Bruno's eyes and I made them as my defaults :D

Default eyes: I think they may be HP's eyes.
Default feet: Bloom's Sexyfeet or something like that, they're so neat! xD

I only use default skintones and eyes, so far. I'm looking for default brow replacements. maxis = yucka on my sim babies! XD

For the skintones I use Rensim's Circonflex defaults
For eyes I used dragonmandy's "new eyes" (I believe) defaults (made by me, eyes by her [but she deleted that set, she has a similar one she made though.])
I was going to look for some Helaene default Brows though.

For my default eyes they used to be barcelonista, but since my eye bin is over-populated with his/her eyes, I recently changed them to one of brunos sets. For skintones, I *think* I have stefan. I have default eyebrows that are a mix between helaene, serasims, and possibly someone else.

Yep! You can have default feet. They have individual toes and everything. I think they're gorgeous. xD

So I'm using unedited versions.

I use Rensim's Mayday eyes, Fem Fem, Madness, and GQ eyebrows, and Freshie Skintones. I also use the Helaene Default Superpack(everything except the eyes and lips) from Sirona Sims, and I use the Bruno lipsticks set, also from Sirona Sims. Oh, and an invisible Vampire Skin replacement that I got from MTS2, I think.

I really, really like Rensim's stuff, and all my sims wear either a Freshie default or one of the Circonflex skintones.

Kahlia, it replaces the faces you can choose from in bodyshop and cas when creating a sim. Usually the first one is good but the rest are too extreme. This way they are all varied but still in the normal range. Also, I believe when townies are generated it is from the templates so you can have better looking townies.

I'm using Xandhers skintones and Heleanes glossy eyes as defaults. Enaylas skintones are default for the plantsims, alien and zombie. I have a "invisible" skintone for vampire meaning they keep their original skintone when becoming an immortal one :) I love that one!

I used to use Enayla's skin defaults but they were just too shiny...so now I'm using maxis defaults, only the NPCs have them though. Combined with Rensim's confutiatis default eyes- they're the best eyes I've found for this game. Beautiful yet not too realistic, great shading and size.

I use the Maxis default for skins. I used to use Enayla's skins as defaults. (Alien default is Enayla, though.) Enayla's eyes are default for me.

Pet eye defaults from awasegg (maybe, that's what the file says). Apparently have default eyes for servos and the different combinations (vampire servo, werewolf servo). Eyebrow defaults by RenSim.

I also have default replacements for bedsheets and the paintings.

I have a different set of alien eyes than the default. I think they might be from Rensim, but I'm not sure. I used to have a replacement set of vampire eyes, too. I don't know if they survived my reinstall.

I'm not into custom skintones too much, because they tend to be overly shiny and reddish, but I might try to find some good ones sometime soon, because the Maxis ones are too dull. I'll have to check out Louis's; I hear they're good.

Or you could dl HP (HystericalParoxysm)'s skins at MTS2 (they're called Idolatry of Flesh). They're very popular! I had them for a short time too, they're nice (not overly shiny and the colors are super nice). And of course, Rensim Circonflex skins are awesome!

Okay, my own defaults now : I use Oepu's maxis match skins (they're not very detailed, which I love). I have some old Helaene eyes (I don't like the colors that mush, but the shape and the shading is the best I've found so far). Plantsim skin by someone at Insim (it's the Maxis body skin with a better face). Default make up by... I can't find it right now, but it was the first set of defaults makeup ever. And I use default face templates too (a mix of Nailty, Terrakosmos and Sheiko).
I really like my game now, and I've been having all of these defaults for quite some time!

I'm using the Oepu defaults edited by Corvidophile ( I adore them, they look quite realistic and I love the nose shapes).
My eyes again are done by Corvidohpile, originally Helaene.
I use the Helaene default makeup super pack.

Skin - Doin' it old Skool... Rensim's Freshie defaults - every now and again I try a some great looking skin I spotted on someone else's sim. That lasts a couple of days before I go running back to Rensim's fabulous Freshies because they look absolutely wonderful in my game.

Eyes - I've been using Nouk's Delicious Eyes since they were released. Huh. that long? They go wonderfully with Rensim's skins.

Enayla's Unholy Collection vampire, zombie and alien. I want to use Rensim's Aquatic Alien, but I can't really see the detail on my computer.

Eyes - I alternate all the time. Can't find any that look quite right on my computer. The best I've found are the ones exnem released on MTS2 a long time ago. The beautiful, detailed ones usually look blurry in my game. His colors stand out very well, too.

Makeup - It's a set from MTS2, plus Bruno's eyeliner. They were intended to match the default color and textures of the maxis makeup.

I've tried using a bunch of different skin tones, but now I've settled on KSK's "Tasty" skins. I wasn't really fond of them at first, but it grew on me. I can't find anything better to suit my tastes anyhow.

For eyes, I'm using CharleighB's "Exploration" eye set over at Modthesims2 that I made into defaults myself. I like it because it doesn't have too much of that shadowing over the eyes, if that makes sense. I used to like YumeDust's "Eye Love" set, but they don't really go with the skin tone I have now. I also use CharleighB's "Temporal" and "Element" eye sets as well as KamiKitten's "Moony" Eye set, which are fun to have.

I also have default eyebrows by dragonmandy, default alien eyes by rensim (I think... or alkaloid), default eyeliner by catofevilgenius, and gym clothes replacement for adult females by someone at Modthesims2.

Hair, Skin, Eyes & Makeup: Louis at SimCribbling- I used to have a set of Enayla defaults, but the darker skins were horrible with near-white shininess on the nose and cheeks, but almost nowhere else. For makeup, I've got a set of Bruno replacements posted to MTS2 by gwillewyn, and I also use Bruno's Pearl eyes as Alien replacements. I do have a set of normal eye replacements, but I can't for the life of me remember what they're called.

NPCs: Pirate McSkittles is my Pollination Technician, as provided by Chihosan, and I also use Sadis79's Ideal Plantsim replacement.

Clothes: Bloodredtoe's default athletic wear replacements; the_mystical_one's adult female mesh edits and a set of adult male swimming trunk replacements, although I can't remember whose they are.

Random Stuff: Malamine/Art Deco set by SUMSE; fanseelamb's velcro ball replacement and... that's about it really.

Skin - Oepu's Maxis-match skintones. I hate shiny skintones. Nothing in the game looks shiny, everything is matte, so what is with the shiny skintones? I think they look terrible in-game, so Oepu's made default were a godsend. The only skintones I have liked for longer than week.

Eyes - lovebottlejealousy, v2 made defaults. I like them because - finally - I have found some eyes which don't have a huge shiny mark, ones in which dark blue eyes are actually dark blue and not purple (or slightly brown). The colours are also vivid enough to not get lost, and do not look odd in-game, as they don't clash with Maxis style stuff.

- Barcelonista's defaults (http://modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=256399) be Selzi, only for the fact that the sclera is more realistic than the blacks I've seen on most defaults/customs, which bugged me when sims ever looked in a certain direction, except up.
- Louis Default Edits by H.Lin - because I was irked by the belly button ring
- Plantsim default replacemt using Louis' skintone, although I forgot who those were by...
- Vampire Skin Normal eyes - I forgot
- Lycans have Normal eyes - I forgot

I'm currently using Rensim's Circonflex skins and Sahra's eyes (recolours by both An_na and Phobia).

I'm really struggling to find an alien skin that looks good with the circonflex skins, i've tried all the one's I could find @ MTS2, Insim and DLmuslow and i'm out of ideas! I love Anva's skin, but sadly that can't be defaulted. I'm currently using Pooklet's alien skin, but it doesn't quite look right with the others. So is anyone else using circonflex? I've only just ventured into default replacements. I'm using the Louis skintones from Simcribbling and I use various eye colours by Yumedust to replace the default Maxis eye colours. I haven't replaced anything else... yet.

First I used enalya's, but I got tired of them quickly. I've been using Chackaru's for a while, I love them, except for the mid-dark tone, that was a bit red. I can't remember wich one I used instead...

And I've just instaled phasmaxian's edited skintones, with simsbysarhra's eyes. I'm still deciding if i'll keep them, because I love them, but I've to check if the do work in at least my favorite sims...

Anyone can tell me wich face overlays and lipstick work good with those?

I never wanted to go too different than the Maxis look for the game, but I have been experimenting with defaults.

Those are just default replacement meshes not default replacements for maternity wear. You need a Pregnant Sims Wear Any Clothing hack and for your sim to have those outfits set as current clothing for those to work.

If you have BV, for men try this replacement (http://engram-au.livejournal.com/25149.html). I used the BV outfits with male pregnancy meshes by transylvanian for that but I have a H&M man-ternity default replacements planned in the future.

For women, this replacement (http://engram-au.livejournal.com/27892.html) uses mostly H&M outfits, so if you don't have the EPs necessary for the other outfits just leave those out and your sims will use normal Maxis maternity outfits for the ones you don't put into your Downloads folder. The files are clearly labelled with what outfit requires what EP/SP. Even though the post says testers wanted", the replacements have been tested by a few people and they all work as advertised - your sim uses the replacement outfit and no Pregnant Sims Wear All hack is needed. Ditto the men's replacement. If you already have the female H&M replacement meshes and not the ones I linked to in the female replacement post, those will work, too. The replacement is linked to the Maxis outfit not to the replacement mesh, so it doesn't matter what mesh you use as long as it allows for a pregnant belly to show.

They're based on the original maxis skins, but they are improved a lot. I don't really like most custom skin tones, because I think they look too shiney and don't look right on sims. Some people say they look more realistic but I want my sims to look like sims, not people. I didn't even know you could get default eyebrows, and I've been playing The Sims since forever! Wow.

I've got face template replacements that moderate the more extreme Maxis templates without greatly changing the rest. No more ape faces, but I still have ones that I consider to have "character." Like, you know, Komei Tellerman's face. :) I don't remember who created these, but they came from MTS2, as does 98.72% of my CC. :)

I've got Pooklet's Compulsion default skins because they do not has teh shiny. I hates teh shiny, yes I do. And I also hate Sims with visible pores. I've tried other default skins here and there, but I keep going back to these because I just haven't found another set in which I like the darker shades as well. They seem to be either too dark or not dark enough. The Compulsion set has a darkest tone that I like very much.

I've had Shady's Sparkling Eyes as default eyes for a very long time now. But! I've recently discovered the wonders that are geneticized/townie-friendly eyes, so now I have a lot more eye variety in my neighborhood, which I'm digging.

I need to get me some default brows. I always forget about them until I go to create a Sim and of course they have the Maxis brows that look...braided? The heck? :)

I have replacements for the maids outfits. I can't stand the slutty "French maid" look and the whatever-the-hell-that-is that the male maids come dressed in. Now both genders have nice, practical outfits and practical shoes. And aprons. I'm much happier to see them now.

I have Navetsea's creature skin replacements, too, but I hardly ever play creatures, so I hardly ever see them. Oh, and I have a multi-PT thingy, too. I only rarely have alien babies, though, so I hardly ever see those, either.

I've been thinking about switching my default skins out (going to make a new hood with new default everything else), so I've been trying out a bunch of different defaults.

Are you using pooklet's Compulsion defaults? 'Cause they look absolutely awesome when I play around with them in CAS, but when I put them in and compare my Sims with the old defaults, the Compulsion skins look a lot more feminine on the men (mostly due to the eye area - the deeper eyelids look rather like eyeshadow.)

I like Lin's Louis skins, but I'm looking around for new ones too (like I said, mostly for a change; I like the Louis skins, but if I'm changing default eyebrows, makeup, face templates, and eyes, I might as well go all-out, right?)

I'm currently considering Anva's, Astiees, Teru's simple skin, Corvidophile's Dermalicious, Pyxis's Venice, Ren's hi-res skins, Pooklet's Compulsion and my poor lover, PeachT's ephemera blends, and HP's idolatry of flesh. Enayla is just too shiny for me, and Maxis-match tend to be too flat.

Default eyes = Lovetadraw's Real Eyes in Natural Colors (they fit with my sims perfectly!)
Default skin = HP's Natural Beauty: Idolatry of Flesh

I think both of these are semi-realistic yet Sim-like. Not anything I'd normally find on a human (I don't want to glamorize my sims) but way better than the Fugliness that is Maxis skins.

Oh! I forgot witch skin - I use the "Normal" witch skin - so they don't turn colors ;)

I don't have alien defaults or vampire defaults or anything, I couldn't be bothered to really play those anyways.

Skins: I used Opeu's geneticized defaults till i decided it was time to "adulticize my game so i switched to KskDefaults with the matching penis textures (either insimadult or sexysims has them) But i use navetseas dxt3 vampire overlay skin and the alien skin from that series as well.

Though i'm currently in the state of mulling over getting warlokk's and beso's bodyshapes for male and female just haven't figured out how all that works.

Eyes: "Clear Eyes" by -shady-. Love their work :)
Skins: "Somewhat Realistic Skins" by Darkwolf JR. The ONLY skin I can bring myself to have in my game :P
Makeup: Replaced everything with Bruno's makeup. That stuff is a Godsend.

I have a vampire default skin, I'm not sure who made it through. I know they use red eyes from Helaene. Not that I ever play find the time to play vampires anyway. Same goes for pretty much ALL the supernaturals. As for clothing, I actually find myself using much of the Maxis clothes that came with later EP's (namely H&M, AL, TSS), with a few other clothes from the 4 corners of the internet.

I found Almighty Hat's multi-ideal plantsim recently. So glad to replace that one.
Oh. My servo is the wood replacement by Almighty Hat. I thought I was gonna have a panic attack waiting for that to finish downloading. Totally in love with the look of my servos now.
And I've been using Peggster's multi-PT mod for a while.
My eye defaults I recently changed. Was using Nouk defaults. Now using Pooklet+Simrenity defaults.

I have some other clothing defaults that I'm thinking of getting rid of. It is frustrating wondering about whether I already have a default for an outfit when I'm considering a new download. I have defaults in a separate folder, but looking at the files, I can't remember what outfits they replace. I haven't installed any replacements of maxis clothing for a long time because of this. With the exception of my medieval replacements, which I will never ever give up.

I'm using Ambular's face templates. What is cool about the face templates that some unfortunate looking sims may still occur (because not everyone is born as a superhottyie model) albeit nowhere near as ugly as Maxis face template sims with gargantuan lips and other Quasimodo faces.

I don't use any other defaults yet, Maxis skins look okay for me (and some of the skin replacements make Sims look too sparkly for me)

Apparently yes, also, you can add to them too and townies and npcs will be generated with them too.

No, existing sims' faces won't change (including townies already walking around), but newly-generated townies and NPCs will use your new templates.

I love it, my only gripe is that it includes too much make up that I would have otherwise done without. Sometimes it's nice to have a sims go bare faced without any makeup or mascara...there is a beauty in simplicity I believe. =]

I use the ones made by Teru_k ( http://modthesims.info/d/261288 ) and I´m very happy with them. I have tested other ones, but I´m so used to Teru-k´s default now that it would feel strange to change. To get some variation I also have about 10 geneticized skins.
