Babys can sometimes be born inheriting thier grandparents features rather then thier parents. Last night I had a baby born, i got a bit of a shock when he came out a bit darker skinned when his parents are both light skinned. I realised he must of got his grandmothers skin tone. Also he didnt have the same eyes as any of his parents, he had his grandfathers. AND both his parents are brown haired, and when he turned into a toddler, he had blonde hair...he must of got that from his other grandmother who is the only one with blonde hair. Wierd...but kind of cool.

Sim can whistle! Not just the flirting wolf whilste. My sim can whistle tunes - it's so cute when she does it in the morning. I think it might be because she's into Music and Dance.

My sims do that and they whistle some scary tunes.

I discovered this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/serenicevanescence/Sims%202/sims2screencapprivateschool.png) as well:

If you cook a good meal e.g. salmon then a dessert, you get 55 food points or more from the private school headmaster.

Woot woot. These sims are the first lot I've managed to get into private school ^.^

if you are very happy with an easel painting, you can go into the main storytelling folder and find the (very distorted) image there. All you need to do is re-size it.

You shouldn't rush to change the facial structure of an ugly toddler, my male toddler got a female custom skin (the dad's was maxis) and so his face was distorted, but I just let him be. He seemed to get uglier as a child, but magically when he was an adult--he was suddenly good-looking!

That sims get glazed-looking eyes when they kiss. You have to zoom in really close which is why I never noticed it before but the pupils disappear when they Smooch or Make Out. Also when they Scope Room.

Also, I don't know if it was a one-off or not, but Pascal Curious came waddling by my CAS sim's house. I sent the sim out to talk to him, changed the topic to Sci-fi, and when the icons for the aliens and the spaceships showed up in their speech bubbles, Pascal grimaced and began to rub his butt during that conversation. He didn't stop until the chat interaction ended.

That the secret society on my custom neighborhood's university was too secret.

I use a homegrown university without any Maxis students (I have empty templates in the Uni neighborhood folders). Unfortunately, when the game generated the students for the university it only created two secret society members, making for a secret society that would have been impossible to get in to. :wtf2:

Thanks to SimPE, however, I was able to add secret society tokens to a few more Sims.

I discovered that once a zombie - always a zombie. I had a random townie die, and one of my Sims, Edward, brought him back as a zombie. He then died again (Edward only brought him back so he could drink him with his cowplant) and later I noticed a different one of my Sims wanting to resurrect him again, since they'd been friends. So I let him, and paid the full amount, but the guy is still a zombie. XD He didn't set off any "So-and-so is a zombie" fears though so everyone else seems to think he's normal.

I suppose thats because he has been brought back in the state he died in which must count as success.

Sims can belch back at the Cow mascot in uni and get a relationship boost.

I just got Free Time installed this morning, and discovered I hate the rubik's cube that the woman in my test family has. I'm almost mad enough to take her telescope away from her! She's on a date with a guy that she has 3 lightning bolts with. It's spring. Her wants panel is filled with make-out and woohoo wants. You would think she could find something better to fiddle around with than a stupid puzzle!

Today, I realised that if you tweak a sims aspiration with inSIM it borks their secondary apspiration up =/ I changed a family sim into a romance sim, forgetting that romance was her secondary aspiration, and so everything's gone pear shaped for her. Nevermind.

Also, is it me, or have fires got weaker since the base game? While a great big fire would normally wipe out an entire family of 8 back in the days and destroy everything in the house, these days a fire just doesn't cause as much damage and death to my sims. Still fun though =]

Willow's Tara
31st May 2008, 06:03 AM
I diiscovered something about fire, you know that train set that came with FT? Well sometimes it can be set on fire! I lost Surresh Rawaswami that way, he went to operate and a minute later the set was on fire and he was on fire too. Sanjay Rawamswami tried saving him with a existugher or whatever you called it while Neerasha (His daughter) tried to call for help, by the time the fire was gone so was Surresh.

I also discovered if you leave a lot with a NPC or a playable sim or of any kind and go play thier house, and when you gropw them up they will be just like that when you return to the other one. Like with Samantha Ottomas, I kmade her have sex with Priya Rawaswami, but then I went to play Priya's house (Which is how Surresh died) and I didn't stop playing until she became an elder, went back to Sam's house and Priya was standing next to the bed as an elder. That has to be a shock for Samantha, she has sex with a beautiful woman and comes out with an elder of that woman.

Also with NPC, I moved the maid Geninisis or whatever into the Ramaswami house after the oldest Richard decided to marry her (This is when both Priya and Sanjay are dead). After I left I went to check something in the Free family and saw the exact maid in the house, she was Giles Free's maid until she moved into the Rawamswami and got pregnant, so now she is just a sim in the house, her maid car disappeared and another maid came immeditely and took over.

That little 'chance card' you found is so stupid. I clicked 'Nevermind' once and my sim went to work despite my 'x-ing' out the action. The kids then got taken away. It's supposed to be for when you have kids to warn you. I liked the one that said "I have other responsibilities" and they just stayed home.

I have a hack that keeps my game from making un-needed NPCs and once I installed that my sim's picture started showing up when they called in sick. It might be that.

..and this chance card thing.
http://i26.tinypic.com/69lw05.jpg[/CENTER]

This is not a chance card. It is one of pescadoīs hacks, that modifies how the social worker. It is designed to let you leave for work, when a nanny is running late or another household member will be back any minute. Itīs called sshack.

This is from the readme:
FEATURES:
This hack makes the Social Worker behave more reasonably. The Social Worker
will only be summoned for child abandonment if a child-aged sim is left
unattended for extended period of time, such as if all adults are very dead,
or if the unattended sim is a toddler and therefore should not realistically
be left home alone at all. The bizarre metric of "child-hours" has been
eliminated.

The social worker will not be summoned for a child receiving bad grades unless
the number of bad children outnumbers the number of passing children: No more
adopted bad child causing all your good children to be taken away because he
came with a failing grade from when he was taken away before.

The Social Worker will continue to be summoned if you intentionally abuse your
children by starving or neglecting them, so you can still get kids taken away
to fill the adoption pool if you want.

Parents will also no longer be physically prevented from going to work if
children are present on the lot. No more having to miss work because the stupid
nanny refused to show up until 15 minutes afterwards.

Heat/Cold failure and warnings no longer random and useless: Will no longer
receive spurious warning followed immediately by "sudden death mode" SS visit.

So it is not much of a chance card. If you leave a toddler unattentend the social worker will still always take him away. Itīs very useful for the nanny being late or a glitch where none of the parents are allowed to go to work otherwise.

Additionally you can let the parents woohoo in a car, which is in the driveway without needing a babysitter.

I just got Free Tme. Is it just me, or are the recommendations for what you can do to improve your Lifetime Aspiration score a bit off? It was recommending to an adult with 7 kids that he have a first kiss, and recommending to a kid who is already a child that he learn to talk or be potty-trained. (He was taught all 3 on his first day as a toddler thanks to Smart Milk.)

And how in the world can someone who sticks his fingers in his ears every time someone mentions Sports have Sports as a pre-destined Hobby?! (I made a beeline for Paladin's Hobby changer.)

Their job description says that they are unemployed, but they go to the job regularly. Long story-short: I always do this to my sims and just now I noticed that the poor little girl and boy were crying 24/7 because of their new father; :einstein

Long story: I had a beautiful woman and got her a husband who works for the exterminator people [Ew] He looks really ugly, and made 2 ugly babies [Twins] :D!

This isn't the usual me, all about looks and blah but she was really my second generation woman and I loved her! She deserved a pretty son/daughter. I had them argue, and break up. The children cried, and cried.... I thought, "Oh I can just get them a new father :D" As I brought a new father, had the mother LOOOVE him [of course he was a total hottie.] The children continued to cry, the Ex-Father visited, and had me pay fines, Knocked over my trash, stole my newspaper. Ugh, more fines and fines reaching up to $200? He'd even bargin my door and talk to his children, I didn't mind but leave my family alonee D:. Well now that I have that fix in my game the maids are at least attempting to clean things. They do seem to get stuck sometimes and I'm having to use debug mode to force error them out of it but otherwise they are ok.

I have since discovered though that it is pointless to order single servings of food from room service as they don't seem to be edible, but group meals are. I think it might have something to do with the rotation of the tables because I know I've had a Sim successfully eat a single serving before.

How do you merge families? I dont have University.
the only EP I have is Nightlife, and I can take Sims from the family bin and move them into whatever occupied house I like. It prompts you with something like "really join the Grainger family?" I don't think the new sim will automatically take the last name of the household though.

No, the new sim(s) keep their original surnames. The christianlov lastnamechanger can fix that easily enough though.

What I learned a couple of days ago: a sim can "meet" another sim through badmouthing! I had no idea. Loki was furious with Vidcund and when he went to see his sister Erin, he kept badmouthing Vidcund. All of a sudden, Erin gets 1000 aspiration points, and I check her memories panel to see what happened. She had just "met" Vidcund (I know he wasn't in her relationship panel before).

She has some Chinese looking outfits, tops with mandarin collars, and toggles, with pants of the same color (one with a dragon print, tiger, and something else) She also has some futuristic looking uniforms in assorted colors (think Judge Dredd, but rainbow colored!)

The tiger dress? That should be in the CAS, I believe it came with the basegame, I love that dress because it looks good on my pretty sims.

I am not sure about the others, but I do know this, even after going through it a million times, I see there's some clothwes I don't actually notice until now, probably because I usually know what I want my sims to wear.

No! Not the tiger dress! These are Asian looking jackets and pants. The weird thing about them is, they do not appear in CAS, I did not download them from MTS2, my sim did not go downtown to purchase them, they were never worn as uniforms (yes, I know that all uniforms will appear in the dresser under "everyday") It's as if the clothing gnomes snuck in and left extra outfits in my dresser. (will post pics as soon as I get home early enough to actually play!)

and another thing: my husband thinks that the reason all the posters on Yahoo! Answers want free base game downloads is that they are all kids without jobs or money, and that I am absolutely the oldest simmer. Say it ain't so! I'm only 26, and that is NOT old!

Hey, you're still younger than me but you're right - don't count the blasted things. They only seem to be important to those who want to pigeon hole you.
My grandmother always said she still felt she was the same 17 year old girl inside and she lived until her 80s. My mother on the other hand was born middle aged and grew older from that point on - she is a "the glass is half empty and has a dirty big crack in it" sort of person :Slap:

I found out that there IS actually a high-school stage between kid and whatever stage it is you go to college. I'm a bit confused, because my newly created sim looks a bit younger and scrawny than my uni-goers, yet he can join uni at any time now. So would I be correct in thinking the stages go like this:

Toddler
Kid
Teenager (High school stage)
Tennager (University stage)
Adult

I hope he looks a bit older when he goes to college cause otherwise hes going to be a 13 year looking college goer. :(

I've come to a conclusion today rather than a discovery. Sims were originally intended to wear face makeup as part of their job uniforms. If you look at the files in SimPE the blue and red masks are labeled as hero and villian and they match the superhero and supervillian uniforms. There is also a burglar mask and the clown uniform from FT has facepaint but they don't wear it. The camoflage facepaint could be worn by Sims in the army career as well.
I'd love to see someone create a hack which enabled the wearing of job campatable facepaint.

all alien babies look the same (all people babies probably look the same too)
I had Chloe Singles get pregnant by a pointy-eared boyfriend I made for her in the attempt to get a born in-game, pointy-eared, green baby.
1st baby, green, pitch black eyes, rounded ears, absolutely adorable.
then I Rolled the Pacifier
2nd baby, green, pitch black eyes, rounded ears, absolutely adorable.
then I turned aging back on to let them grow up together
Baby 1 kept all the same facial features when she turned toddler.
Baby 2 grew pointy ears just like her father when she turned toddler.
Then there was Pascal Curious' baby
As an infant, green, pitch black eyes, rounded ears, absolutely adorable.
As a toddler, long narrow face, eyes are so huge they sometimes look like they are hanging off the side of his head, hideous!
As a child, STILL very hideous with way too big eyes. I was going to breed him with Chloe's children, but they might get his face! I think I'll have to make aliens in CAS with a green skin I downloaded.
Sims are STUPID! In my Asylum, with the exception of the sim I am controlling, everyone else ALWAYS sleeps in their underwear. And then since they never get dressed, unless they take a shower, and the don't take a shower until they get a cloud of green stink following them, they spend 80% or more of the time in their underwear. My Popularity sim has no family friends and spends half the time dancing with a lampshade on her head (in her underwear) Another one (I think he is very lazy) is always waving at me about a hunger desperation. I wave back and say "look in the kitchen! there is a whole plate of sandwiches!" I know he can't hear me, but sometimes he will go and get a sandwich after I tell him too.

first: I love this thread!
second: If a home is built on a lot with sloping ground, the lot is then packaged to be moved to another neighborhood, you cannot alter the slope on the outer-most squares of that lot. I built a house in Veronaville, and it had to have a slope on the left hand side to fit the neighborhood terrain. Now that I have put the house in Strangetown, the left edge of the lot slopes down, a lot! and makes it look like there is a huge ditch. :dunce:
What I have learned: build house on lots that are already flat! Package them, then alter the terrain after they are placed in the new neighborhood. I think that I shall have to make a completely flat neighborhood just for house building.

that's kinda funny...in a sick and twisted way...(i say while watching csi...)

i learned that if you drown someone (Brandi Upsnott, because her last name annoyed me) their ghost comes back and leaves puddles everywhere. it was actually kindof annoying, brought the environment meters right down.

also, one of my show business sims came home from work as a commercial actor one day with this huge fry hat. he was my first show biz sim, so i wasn't expecting it. I didn't notice it at first, but his face was wearing it in the pie menu, and it ran over some of the bars, it was especially funny because he looked PISSED! lol. i laughed for a good ten minutes :D

o, and one annoying thing, i noticed that with inteen, although u can have more than 8 people in the house, there is a limit. shucks.

and with inteen, when a teenage mom moves out of the house with her newborn twins, a blue teleport thing takes the twins, and they don't appear in the household pic when it's loading, only the mom appears. But the babies show up again when they actually move into the house. kindof expected that though.

and along those lines, i don't use the cars much, but when the same single mom went to sit in it with her bf...the comp said no, she couldn't go anywhere and leave the kids alone. which i knew, but i didn't think sitting in the car would count...shrug, again, slightly annoying.

I have never been successful, except for the Curious House in Strangetown, at getting my sims abducted. When I want a sim to have an alien baby, I have been using the Tombstone of L and D, but I hate using cheats. So I tried an idea today: I had an alien hybrid become a plantsim, produce a spore baby, and then have the grown up baby take the cure. I hoped a spore baby would copy the parent's alien skin.

It didn't work. I ended up with a female sim with a normal human skin tone. Also, this is the first time I have ever made a spore baby and it turned out to be the opposite gender from the parent. In other words, I have never had a male spore baby.

There's a hack or a cheat some place I know I have seen before so that you can posthumously change the type of death the ghost has, in case you want to keep the ghost but avoid the puddles.

I hate to admit it, but I sort of liked the name Upsnott because it game me an instant picture of how the people who made her thought of her.

I discovered that my child sim was really enamored with his older sister. His sister was a fair bit older than him and when she got the two days before her Adult birthday warning, she left for college right then, which was just after after his child birthday party.

Every single day, I think every time his wants re-rolled, he seemed to want to call his sister.

I've seen sims want to interact with relatives, but not usually that far into the child stage, not quite that obsessively, and definitely not for a relative living outside of the home.

I didn't know kids could want to call up people to chat. I usually get my Pops wanting to invite people over instead.

If you have FreeTime installed, melethana, then you could always use the "modifyneighborhoodterrain on" cheat to at least try to make it look more natural.
wow! I just got FreeTime yesterday, I'll have to try that.

I discovered that Sims wear the wedding rings on the middle finger, not the ring finger, even though they have 5 fingers. The Sims who is proposed to, regradless of the genders involved, is the one who gets the ring.
Also, for the first time, I had a toddler get a max out a skill Want. Yeah, he already had a Logic of 9. I really like toddlers, and I refuse to let my sims become elders, so I have an anti-aging controller.
Third, FreeTime is awesome (posted more in which EP is the best thread)

Apparently the game designers must only go downtown for a fancy night out rather than for work or jury duty or other daytime stuff.

I realized, from reading posts here, that you can get your kids back from the social worker. I had tried to do this in the past but there always popped up a message that was like, 'we've taken kids from you before, so no.'

so then, i tried it again the other day from a house where they'd just taken kids from, and they were like, 'sure!' anyone know if that comes with an expansion pack or something?

I sent my Legacy heir to stay at a dorm. (The smallest 5 room one in the game.)
On his first day, he went right to class and while he was gone a lightening storm hit a tree just right by the end of the screen. While his classmates jump around it, he jumps right in right in the middle and burns up.

I actually just found out right this second that when you have a job already and you want a new one, they do not start you off at the bottom of that new job you choose, instead they skip you a few promotions. sounds good to me:)

Also, I'm so shallow with last names and the way people look that my poor Legacy founder is growing old before she finds a man.. I know this isnt going to be the right spot to ask this question, but you might have an answer anyways; When a sim is married and you're flirting with them, it would just ask to move in for proposing, no engagement, correct?

Also, in response to above, I lived in a 14 room dormatory and had to pay the bills, now granted they were only 124ish, i still had to. hopefully its not a glitch in my game, lol

It's not a glitch. Sims in dorms have to pay bills once a semester. The amount of the bill is based on the value of the lot divided by the number of students living there. In most cases, this means that the dorms with more students tend to be a little bit cheaper.

I've discovered that the FreeTime basketball court provides probably the best ratio of body gain to energy and hygiene loss of any exercise object in the game. In fact, Sims with really active personalities gain body freakishly fast while playing H-O-R-S-E.

I noticed the following:

- Kids can do a funny dance with their parents where they stand on their parent's feet. I saw Dina Caliente and her son Carlos doing that earlier today.

- Pizza has a huge negative effect on your sim's fitness if they eat it when their hunger need is full - seems to be more so than doing the same thing with other foods, especially considering that pizza doesn't normally fill the hunger bar very much.

- Daydreaming while a sim relaxes on a bed causes a reasonably significant increase in social need. (I'm sure everyone else figured that out ages ago - it's amazing what things I'm still noticing after all these years!)

- A stray dog that invited itself in to the Broke household started chewing on Beau's homework - a literal case of the dog eating the homework perhaps? :)

A sim who has no house won't automatically change into outerwear when it gets cold. My poor homeless sim has been my test subject for Seasons, and he'll happily hang out in his shorts in the snow unless I make him change. XD

That automatic abduction at the Curious house seems to only work when they stargaze on their own, or at least that's how it worked for me. I tried all night to get someone abducted there and finally ended up using a hacked telescope; next night he went and stargazed by himself with the normal one and was instantly abducted.

They usually change when they exit to outside through a portal- so, if they live outside, they have no doors so will not change clothes.
The outerwear actually makes no difference to body temperature for the sims anyway- they freeze at the same rate in their outerwear as they do in their underwear.

Uninstalling an expansion pack will delete your downloads folder.

I discovered it the hard way.

Well, the first hours after that were very depressing, but then I realised that my folder was a mess anyways and that I could start now and keep everything organized.

Too bad I can't play seasons by now. Sinanda, my custom neighbourhood, is the only one I usually play. I had a very recent backup of it, don't know why I didn't backup the downloads folder too. I must be stupid.

Kids can get an A+ on their very first day of school. I've had a few kids now who've done that; I'm thinking it might be connected to them coming home from school with other kids when I've played other houses. Somehow the game thinks they've been going to school so they get a good grade? I don't know.

I've also noticed that a lot of my Sims who are in relationships are getting obsessive about their partners. Originally they were just relaxing in bed next to them as they slept, which is cute, but now it's getting to where they'll find any excuse at all to be in the same room as them, such as viewing the artwork on the walls or washing the windows, or deciding the clean toilet needs to be scrubbed while their partner is in the bath.

Oh yes, and Plantsims are ridiculously adorable and I love them.

If you live on a beach lot and have ghosts- the human ghosts will swim in the ocean and occasionally swim around your home if they are stuck in swim mode.
If your dog died and hated the stereo in his live state he will turn it off as a ghost as soon as you turn it on.
Sims make the most interesting faces when reading a book.

I have a romance Sim that is always doing this. I have also noticed some other Sims that kiss when they say good-bye even though they don't have a crush or romantic relationship. As far as I've been able to figure out, using any flirt interaction (even Check Out Sim) seems to trigger this even if the crush flag is not set by the interaction. (Edit: I believe there also has to be a certain level of chemistry/attraction between the Sims as well.)

This results in some interesting Sim behavior. For example, if Sim A and Sim B are romantically involved and Sim C flirts with Sim A, then Sim B will become angry with Sim A for receiving the flirt. But if Sim A says good-bye to Sim C by initiating a long wet kiss, Sim B couldn't care less.

ETA: I discovered this weekend that Sims will call looking for a dead Sim.

One of my university Sims (Auberon Fernweather, the Sim in my avatar pic) set himself on fire while burning leaves and died. He was living in a dorm and all the dormies came out and did the fire panic dance but nobody bothered to try to extinguish him or call the fire department (I guess they've all been drinking from too may fruit punch barrels and using the bubble blower too much). Anyways, Grimmy came and took him away (and then watched a movie on the dorm's TV). I then moved a new Sim into the dorm, and shortly after he moved in, Titania Stormwatch, Auberon's girlfriend, called the dorm looking for Auberon :(.

Fortunately, the story has a happy ending. Titania is a member of the Anabel Strange Society, and she was able to go the society's secret headquarters and ring up Grimmy and pay him to bring Auberon back to life using secret society funds.

Pascal Curious wears female only glasses.

Olive Specter woohoo the grim reaper. I think she was also the original black widow.

Teenages -even lazy ones- run to answer the phone.

That sim sand can burn. Not burn as in being hit. But burn as is flames. I saw this after a tree fire gone wild.

That sims like to look out of the window. I started a Uni group the other night and they all seemed to enjoy going to the windows and looking out.
That no matter what exercise equipment you have out- they ALL flock to the bike! I have had several sims die in my asylums due to the bike.
You can put sprinklers in your house instead of a fire alarm- which is less annoying cuz I use headphone and that noise is deafening.
Oh and if a toddler is crying long enough in thier crib they will get out on thier own (not sure if its some hack I have or they do it on thier own though- but was nice since the nanny just wanted to play the guitar instead of caring for my twins)

Any toddler that knows how to walk can climb out of a crib. But some toddlers seem to do it a lot more than others, so there might be a personality component to it as well.

I had no idea- thanks for letting me know. I had never seen it.

Also I realized today Puck Summerdream has terrible luck with ghosts scaring him. They did it so much one night he died cuz of the <<<<< of green before I could catch it. I quickly got his girlfriend to get him "pleaded" for and the funniest thing happened. His ghost arose from his body and pleaded for his own life. He won over the Reaper and was rezzed. I took pictures but they are on my other puter and not sure if they saved as I am having issues with pictures saving. :(

I have a romance Sim that is always doing this. I have also noticed some other Sims that kiss when they say good-bye even though they don't have a crush or romantic relationship.

Yeah, it was really amusing first time I saw this one. And my sim was a money or knowledge sim if I remember well. He was pretty outgoing, guess it matters too.

About the teen-fridge interaction mentioned before, I remember I saw it a couple of times (if we're talking about playing with the fridge's door...) I think he was a pleasure sim and I don't remember any particular reason for him to do it. When an adult pleasure sim is in aspiration failure, he'll play inside of the bathtube. XD

I discovered with a hardcore poverty challenge that the sim can just die from overheat and that bathing will only make them HOTTER! Guess you need a roof...

now I must discover how much of a roof is enough to shelter them from weather.

Its a good thing that I usually play teeny lots, because my compy can't handle even the Maxis "small" ones for very long :(

tankochan - The last time I played a really poor sim, only the bathroom had walls and a roof. I put a chair in there so that the sim would spend time in there to cool off, lol.. Of course after she could afford a sink, she just used it to cool off instead.

I discovered today that my child sims seem to bring home other NPCs that they end up dating when they are teenagers ...

Coincidence? Possibly not lol.

That at the CAF screen, there's something called "Make A Baby" that combines the parents' genes together...and I've had this game for about a year now. I am so ashamed of myself. xD I always thought that it was the same as creating a sim, but I guess not. ;P

I discovered today how to make my own sims using all custom content and boy is it a lot of work! I'm really 'simmed' out lol and I need a break from the game for at least a day or two. My eyes are tired from looking at the computer screen for so long.

Haha, I've had that happen before. I've also had someone talk on the phone to a sim who had just arrived on their lot and was standing next to them.

I discovered today that when a waiter/waitress brings food to a table they can spill it over your sim, and it shows up as a bad memory. Erik Swain had this happen three times during one evening out today!

Is that the candy maker? If so and your toddlers get at the chocolate puddle they get a sugar rush and get hyper - wandering around then sitting whining and crying. :D [unless a later EP has done away with that of course]

Maybe the Grim works hand in hand with the Poll. Technician?

When Bella disappeared that night from Don's apartment, the Poll Technician cloned her and now Grim keeps her (or them) as his hula dancers for eternity!

That's my wacky idea anyways :P

I discovered today that if the bed is a long distance from the living room, e.g. you have to go up in the lift and get to the room, the sims forget what they are doing lol.

When my sims grabbed a table with a booth, my female sim was the first to sit down and my male sim sorta "jumped" over her, so that he could sit next to the wall. Maybe it was a glitch, but the animation looked really smooth.

That happens in my game a lot when they don't have enough space to move around.

I like it. Although it may also be that Grim got the clones after they had died; he doesn't really need to be working with the aliens. Great thinking!

you can delete terrain paint. Yes I know holding ctrl will let get rid of most the other build mode items, but I never tried to get rid of paint by deleting it before. I downloaded a very nice 3bdrm house, with grey paint outlining where the driveway would go if you had NL, but then there was a little line of stray grey paint 2 squares away. I put flowers over it so I couldn't see it, but it still bugged me because I KNEW it was there.
I discovered the deleting terrain paint while building one of bienchen83's sandboxes.

[EDIT]
also the Exchange and the new EA Sims store are horrible! You can't search by keyword, or have it show only downloads compatible with your EPs, you need to download a download manager before downloading the downloads. Bleh! it should be more like MTS2. I know, I know, that's why we don't go to the Exchange anyway, but I got an e-mail saying I got 6 free downloads, but they're ugly and not even worth the trouble!

The Grim Reaper can use the toilet.

Do you do something special to make him do that?

The Grim Reaper I get is all business. He collects his soul and goes. The most he ever does is to look at a clipboard or make a call on his cell or give a tropical drink to a permanent platinum ghost. Then it's back to the netherworld with him (her?).

It happened when I killed off the only sim (human, at least; the cat was still around) living on the lot, so that might be why.

Yea he came and took Nef when poor Nef decided to repair a computer with a 2 mech skill. He sizzled and fell and Grimmy came and took him and then sat down and watched TV.
I got the prompt- You can exit without saving and recover your sim OR you can save and move in another family. But what would happen to the cat?

I discovered that my Broke family's third generation children are consistantly blonde..

I also discovered that my lift likes to plummet with unsuspecting sims in lol. It did shock Dina Broke as she woohooed with Dustin. Maybe it had a Crumplebottom moment?

But what would happen to the cat?

The police lady that transports newly adopted pets in my neighborhood came and took the cat away shortly afterwards. I imagine he's in a better place now (the adoption pool).
