Really neat sims don't have to spend that much time making the bed. Its all whoosh, then they're done! I thought it was only for the glamour life bed, but it works on all beds (at least for one of my sims it does) :D Also that regular interior/exterior doors can't be placed on driveways. :smash:

Oy vey! That's a lot of puppies... What aspiration is that?
I realized that when you look to see what your dog is doing, the icons are in black and white. Which makes sense, seeing as dogs are color-blind. I think it's the same for cats...

I believe that the black and white is there to signify that you can't cancel their actions. When using the cheat that enables you to cancel a pet's actions, their action icons are in color.

There is an autonomous action of "ruin painting". I was playing the Capp house and Consort, Tybalt, and a townie were watching TV. I was dealing with Consort and the townie when all of a sudden, Tybalt started "throwing a fit" (another new one for me), then got up and started to head upstairs. It had the little easel icon, so I figured he was going to go paint, but when I hovered over it, it said "ruin painting". I almost cancelled it, but wanted to see what happened. He made motions that looked like he was throwing paint at it. Very strange. Funny thing was, it was his painting. I though maybe it was Consort's, and he was doing it to exact some sort of revenge for his trying to flirt with the townie, but nope. He threw a fit, then ruined his own painting. Very odd. The painting's not done yet, so I'm not sure if it will affect the final picture or not, or the selling price.

That having a sim go though college sometimes isn't as boring as I thought it was(my sim is now in his sophomore year and got engaged as a freshman-to a woman who wasn't aging before I got control of her, when they moved out of the dorms!-) but it still is very annoying and takes a looong time.
The counterfeit maker catches on fire if you use it for too long without stopping.
Sims can get engaged in college but not marry until they're out of college.
Sims can take a sponge bath even if they aren't sloppy(she is half way inbetween neat and sloppy),she future husband was using the shower.

Also if you print counterfeit money for too long the police may come and fine you for it and stop the machine from being usable. (Do the sims pay the fine with the counterfeited money? lol)

ive never seen the ruin painting one before..ill keep a sharp eye on my warring families to see if it happens!
mine today is..if a couple (married in this case) live together and get into a fight on a community lot (on an outing in this case) when you send them home the loading family picture will have the couple standing with thier backs to each other, arms folded and glaring over thier shoulder at thier mate. i sent a sim on an outing, didnt realise hubby came along and she did a flirt or something with a friend to try and bost the outing score, he saw slapped her etc...and i lost my temper and said "thjats it! everyone goes home right now!" and when the loading screen came up they were clearly ****** at each other..lol

if a child sees a parent woo-hooing, their relationship points go down to -100! It may just be because she was woo-hooing with someone who wasn't his father but the relationships went to -100 for both mom and the guy she was woo-hooing with.
I also found out that a teen sim can want to sneak out with a friend. I haven't been able to get them to DO it yet though.

I had a child tell on one of their parents for cheating, but the other parent was on the lot so maybe that has something to do with it. It was a while ago though, so I don't really remember.
Today, I finally unlocked the camera career reward, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it. Like, I figured out how to take pictures and how to get other sims to pose, but can sims pose with each other rather than NEXT to each other? Does that make any sense?

I was playing downtown, and found that Jan Tellerman is REALLY good at the electro-dance sphere thingy. She stayed on for 5 hours while my sim was there, never fell or got off! That just surprised me. And I had my first encounter with Mrs. Crumplepants. Horrible looking old lady. >< She started lecturing another sim on the lot, and then followed my sim to a bowling alley, but I cancelled the action before she could hit my sim with her purse. Evil *****. Sorry, pardon my foul language! :D

I discovered sims can get paid for tutoring (helping sims with assignments) in university. I think this option popped up after OFB was installed..
No, we had it with just Uni and NL. You need a higher GPA than the student you tutor to get the option at all. (Which means you need to be past the first semester to have a GPA).
I think you may need to use move objects to position the sims with the camera.
Sometimes they figure it out on their own, but not often. (It also depends on which poses you select.) Remember to have one sim as the photographer.
You can also zoom in and check the side of the camera when you take a picture. You will see the picture come out of the camera so you can put it on a wall or table if you want to keep it.
The Hula and More hack by squinge will allow lots of extra poses. And the camera just takes the picture, so it doesn't care if you use the poses that came specifically with it or not. I don't bother to pose them with the camera anymore, just the hula hack.

If you use InSIM to age a child Townie to a teen, they automatically get an after-school job.
If you age that teen to an adult via InSIM later, they still have never had their first kiss.
The game can make Townies after you've started playing a town, and will use downloaded custom content to do so. One of my 'hoods has three Marylena Hamiltons: the grocery lady, the Townie, and a randomly generated Townie with pink hair.
The game also takes liberty with binned custom hairs when generating orphans for adoption. I have a family that has adopted almost ten kids, and NONE of them had Maxis default hair when the social worker dropped them off.

I actually found this out yesterday, not today:
If they have no living parents a child sim wont get taken by the social worker as long as there is a teenage sim there with the child. I thought I'd try this out after doing some challenges where you kill off the parent(s) and a teenage sim lives alone, except this time it wasn't for a challenges and there was a younger sister on the lot. Very neat, that wouldn't happen in real life heh.

By the way, what is the point of a secret society in the game? is it like a greek house?
PD: I bought University this week, so, I don't know much of this EP.

... Don't use InSIM to make the nanny selectable before the last parent leaves the house for work. Otherwise the game treats her as a Townie on the lot instead of as the nanny, and the parent won't want to leave their child alone with her.
Brandi LeTourneau's chubby cheeks and pouty make for adorable toddlers in a Legacy. Hence the darling that is Manda Millions, whom I've been spamming just everywhere, poor thing.

That the burglar will show up even when your sims are awake. I have always had houses burglarized before but it was always when my sims were asleep. I was playing the Calliente house the other day, and Nina was in the kitchen eating,Dina was taking a bath. The burglar showed up and I had forgotten to put an alarm up. I got Nina to calm down to call the police but the burglar took the exercise machine and the hot tub(which was funny because Mortimer was in it at the time). The cops came and arrested him and luckily they got insurance money.

Maybe I'm slow for not realizing that but I'm still disappointed by the lack of variety. I had two good looking adopted kids and I thought they were unique. But it turns out that they just have the first and second template faces.

I discovered how intuitive my game is. In an effort to improve my neighbourhood's fauna (because just having skunks and wolves is no fun despite being adorable creatures), I've been downloading/creating other animals to be strays. I DLed a fox and deer from MTS2 and used InSIM to "release them into the wild." But they seldom show up. Except for a house neer a wooded area. In that Sim's home, the deer is a frequent visitor! And in a trailer park near another wooded area, the foxes are all over the place and usually come out at night, like real foxes! Weird, yet amazing! Don't know what's causing it, but I like it! :D

That's probably because Dustin IS old enough to pay the bills and take care of Beau himself. Teenagers are allowed to do that stuff. It's when even the teens are gone that the Social Worker comes to get you. I have no idea why she'd regenerate at her own house, though, one would think there were memories of "Brandi moved out" or whatever.
My question was more along the lines of "CAN the kids be moved into a household when their parent marries into it", and your anecdote shows that the answer is still "yes, they can".

They had several kids; two who are teenagers, two toddlers and one baby (which isn't Don's really, but anyway...). I had Don call up his teenage son, and invite the whole household over. In the box where you choose what family members to invite, everyone came up, including the toddlers and the baby. So I invited everyone. The toddlers didn't show up, but the baby did. He appeared on the ground, and his teenage sister picked him up.
When it was time to leave, she had put him down on the ground again, and everyone left, but the baby stayed behind. I waited a while to see if he'd disappear, but he didn't, and he was also unselectable. :wtf2:

No it isn't, but it's been unlocked so you can see it and direct your sims to do it. If you remove all your hacks and have a baby in a house without a refrigerator the baby can be breast fed.
You're kidding!! I've never noticed that!

Sim babies, when they do sleep, sleep HARD. I've had at least two now who have had their birthday sequences with Z's floating out of their heads. But then they're awake as soon as they turn into toddlers.

That my stupid sims didn't recognize their relatives.
My sim, Patrick, had a child who then grew up to an adult AND Patrick was still an adult himself (because he lived in another house and because back then he was really dear to me so I used aging off).
Then Patrick's son had a child, Roy, who also grew to an adult. Then Patrick met his grandson and SURPRISE... they didn't recognize each other as relatives. I had flirting, kissing and all those options so if I had wanted to, I could have made them go married and have adopted children and so on. Yup... dirty. Roy could have had a love affair with his grandfather XDDD.
I think that maybe this had something to do with the fact that Patrick was still alive and well AND an adult like his grandson. Maybe the game assumed that Patrick should have been dead but that's just stupid because this could still be possible even without using aging off. Simply move your sim to another house and don't play with him so he won't age.

I just discovered that kids can actually tease a toddler. It's not on the pie menu, but I saw it happened. The child actually took the toy boat from the toddler and laugh while the toddler was trying to get his toy back!

Forum? Or topic thread? A new forum would need to be set up by Delphy. A new TOPIC is easier. Go to the main page and hit the "new thread" button at the bottom or the top of the page. (the top one is just above the stickied announcements, and the bottom one is just below the last topic.) Either way, that question really doesn't belong HERE, now does it?

That when someone is "bleh bleh" 'd by a vampire, they pee on the floor :haha:
Lucy Burb was on a date at Crypt O Nite and I saw a Vampire Countess. I never dealt with vampires before as I was always afraid of them :sprint: I would have my sims avoid them or leave the lot.
I decided to put on boolprop and made the vampire selective. I made her "bleh bleu" Denise Jaquet about 5 times and it made her pee on the floor each time. I loved it!
Also the repairmen don't like to be called for just a clogged toilet. I was playing Nina Calliente's house and her toilet clogged. I would have normally just had her unclog it but she was very pregnant and had a toddler and plus two other boys. So I had her call the repairman and she went down for a nap.Well Arcadia ( the haggy woman) showed up. Do you know she looked right at me and shook her fist and pointed at me while chewing me out. Not Nina,ME. :naughty: Arcadia really needs to get over herself.

That happened in my game in my old computer. Lillith Pleasant and Melodie Tinker were major enemies. They were always fighting. One day Lillith was sitting outside her little house at University reading the paper. I had that happen once but I think it was a glitch in my game. My Sim picked the paper up off the floor to read it and a walkby appeared. As my Sim was reading, the visiting one walked to where the paper WAS and acted as though they were picking an invisible paper up. When they went to run off they suddenly were holding a paper and my Sim hadn't got one any more.

I discovered (actually, I discovered this a long time ago..) that all my female sims turn out to be lesbians. I know how the whole preferance thing works and all, but for some reason it keeps happening to me even if I don't direct them to flirt with females. I can seriously leave my computer and my game running for a short while, come back, and my sim's room mates will be all making out with each other. I'm thinking perhaps this is a result of me just not having many male sims in the game. *scratches head*
I have one sim that's engaged to one of my few male sims, and even though their relationship is just fine on both sides, she STILL refuses to marry him. I've had to quit without saving so many times because I'll work on building their relationship, and then try to marry them off and she won't do it. Yet she has a want that pops up now and then to get engaged to this female sim she used to be involved with, even though I haven't let her interact with that sim in ages. Craziness, I tell you.
I also discovered that for some reason, the running with scissors playset refuses to work since I've installed Pets. This makes me sad, as I enjoyed watching my sim self run around like a maniac with a giant pair of scissors.

I learned yesterday that you can't make a sim see a ghost, I guess the ghost has to actually pop out at them.
I have a knowledge sim who really wants to see her parents' ghosts, and when mom popped out into the front yard, I sent the sim out there, and they even looked at each other in passing like they would if both were alive, but that didn't count as "seeing" the ghost. BAH.

What if the ghost is just a no-show?
I've had this tombstone/urn around twenty-five sim days, the deceased's daughter mourns every day and several nights, I've rearranged almost all of the furniture AND the tombstone/urn, and the ghost hasn't showed ONCE.
Vidcund Curious is familiar with Erin Singles. I know this because I gave Erin a "Paris Hilton"-esque makeover, and did a double-take when "Paris" popped up in one of Viddie's daydreams.

Okay, the ghost finally showed.
If a sim has a piece of very sheer clothing in life, then their ghost will look like it's not wearing that item. As a result, multiple sims on one of my lots have been spooked by a ghost who looks like she's parading around in her underwear. D< PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!!!
If there is a custom item on a lot, ALL of the sims will drop whatever they're doing to play with it, 24/7. Even if someone else is already USING it.
I swear sims choose their transition outfits DELIBREATELY to annoy me. If it's not the aggravating Maxis default stuff, then the goth-y child I've carefully raised with an interest in ghosts... will transition into a teen in the SKIMPIEST WHITE CUSTOM SWIMSUIT I HAVE.

Okay, technically I discovered this two days ago, but that's beside the point.
I saw a Sim do something no other Sim has ever done since I began playing. She literally ran from where she was standing in the house all the way to the end of the lot--because her pregnant partner (who happens to be a Self-Sim) had just come back from class--to talk to her girlfriend's belly. I had initially thought that the first Sim had to run to class, but her class was actually several hours later, so she didn't have a reason to be running out of the house. I was all :lovestruc because it was the cutest and most beautiful thing I'd ever seen any Sim do, ever.
This is why I leave Free Will on at all times :).

I think that Vidcund Curious is completely incapable of having truly ugly alien brats, despite his own less-than-attractive visage (which... did I mention I gave him a makeover that makes him look totally gay?). I'm actually getting pretty fond of him (doesn't help when he spends half a pregnancy with his face in the toilet puking his poor guts out, but the kids just turn out so INTERESTING...).
Also, I thought personality traits were genetic, but Viddie's latest alien-spawn, Einstein Curious (duh) apparently disproves that. The only thing they have in common is an unhealthy interest in cleanliness.
Vidcund: Scorpio, 10/1/7/4/3
Einstein: Capricorn, 10/8/1/10/6

That the really gorgeous "Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children" adult sims I'd downloaded... make for really hideous toddlers. Loz (http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i54/Yui_hime/My%20Sims/strangetown/hairproblemloz.jpg) is the most photogenic of them, as long as you don't look for a profile! Kadaj is definitely the worst, his face stops at the mouth-- no lower jaw at all. Yazoo's okay, but still uglier than most tots I'd had until today. I feel sorry for their mother.
That in-game born sims can be extremely realistic and pretty. I got this one (http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i54/Yui_hime/My%20Sims/strangetown/mama.jpg) (whom I'm just spamming everywhere) today in CAS by rolling babies for a self sim and a "random" guy.

Luckily, I got Circe to adopt Test, before she remarried Loki Beaker.

Oh yeah! Some sims ARE born gay. I made two beautiful women of equal attributes and both with romance aspirations. I moved them into the same house.
Normally , even if you choose them to be roomies only, two new sims, of similar personality traits, will fall for one another rather quickly.
And this happened with my two women as well. BUT where one of them was very interested romantically in the other, the other wanted nothing to do with flirting and hugging etc. Even though they had similar daily and lifetime scores in their relationship panel.
She didnt show any romantic inclinations until she had a male walk by.
I find this really interesting because sims are born "neutral" meaning they have no preference until they are encouraged toward one sex or the other. So, theoretically, my sim should have been receptive to romance with her roommate.

I also installed the sims on my laptop, but couldn't find the base game and had to buy a new one which was in a different package than when I first bought the game. Anyway, long story short, a lot of the interactions are different (to me, anyway) on the newer edition. One that sticks out for instance is the make out interaction. On my old game it was a lot, well...hot, heavy, and humpy and now it's very "PG."

I had similar with a family of mine - two sisters and their mum. One of the sisters still lived with her mother, but decided to have an affair with her sister's fiance. The mum's lifetime score with her to-be-son-in-law was at 100, but as soon as she spotted her daughter kissing her other daughter's fiance, it dropped immediately down to 0.
She also, from that day onwards, would attack her daughter, and the fiance - but her other daughter (who, til this day is still oblivious to the fact that her now-husband is the father of her nephew), she was fine with.

I learned again why I never hire a nanny. My sims had to go away (to work) and hired a nanny... the toddler needed to sleep and he also needed food. What did the nanny do? Well she took him away from his toys and put him in bed, took him out IMMEDEATLY and put him down in the high chair (so he could eat normally), took him out immedeatly again and put him in bed, to take him out to put him in the ... (and so on and on and on....)... 40 sim minutes later the toddler still needed food and a bed... So I decided to use 'MaxMotives'
My sims decided to have quads (I use the triplets & quads hack, it allows your sims to have 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 babys). Believe me 4 baby's is hard working... and gives a dirty kitchen... and no help of nanny. After 1 or 2 hours she was so tired that she put herself for the tv and didn't do anything anymore, well she took a bath... and made herself some food and went to the tv again!
And no matter how much I dismiss the nanny, she keeps coming back...

I discovered that adopted Sims still remember their birth parents.
I don't adopt much, but when I do, I use that special trick so I don't end up with an ugly Sim: create a toddler or child Sim in CAS, give them a parent, move them into a house, kill the parent and social services will come and whisk the kid away. Then go play the Sim you want to be the foster parent's house and have him/her call the adoption agency and select the age of Sim kid you created and then THAT will be the kid that is brought to you.
Anywho, I did that, kid grew up, and I wanted her to resurrect a Sim with the Resurrect-o-Nomitron and when the box of deceased Sims to resurrect came up, her birth mother showed up as an option! Totally unexpected! I thought all memories and previous affiliations adopted kids had were erased once they joined a new household. Guess not!

I discovered that its really, really funny when a sim is teaching a dog to play dead. Thats probably the first time ever I just laughed at the game.

That sims on autopilot can cook lobster thermidor better than I can cook a piece of chicken. I didn't even realize what she was fixing until it came out of the oven...

That sims on a custom restaurant lot which I built will go into the kitchen to begin preparing Lobster Thermidor, get upset that the chef won't let them use the stove, drop the ingredients on the floor, and go back to the refrigerator to get out some more lobsters to drop on the floor. And he wasn't even hungry! I guess he was in the mood to kill something, and settled for slaughtering 48 lobsters before I got him to stop that and call for the taxi he was SUPPOSED to be calling before he started killing lobsters.

I discovered that, if your sim has the fear of seeing a wolf, and a wolf turns up on the lot, the sim doesn't actually even need to be at home for that want to be fulfilled -_-''

I discovered that Sims throw fits when you delete an object they liked.. I had this Sim kid, Scott, and he had just used the easel to paint a portrait of himself and when he was done I deleted the easel and after I entered Live Mode he threw three fits in a row because I had deleted the easel..!
BTW, it's a funny animation.. :D

I found out that you shouldn't try and recreate the LS story with normal Sims, Thats just a giant Catastrophe now.....

I discovered that if you kill off a family who has a pet (not that I would ever do that! Oh, no, not me, not even this week ;p), the pet will stay in the house for a while, before being taken away for adoption, and you can move it out with the family funds and move it into a new household.
Also, I discovered that pets eat flowers - it's so cute.
And, that death is close to becoming an elder, unless he's a teen, in which case he would be close to becoming an adult ;p. After killing off a Sim family, Grimmy arrived, of course and stayed to watch a bit of tv, then that "*name* only has two days before his birthday, fulfill his wants, etc" block pops up for Grimmy! A glitch, maybe? Who knows. But it's still funny. :D

I found out that if you invited a work mate home after work you could pay him off with $50 to stop him anoying you!

The bride left in the middle of the wedding! I had one of my sims marry the rich downtown woman with the black hair and long gown. She moved in and they got engaged. They had the wedding at their home, with lots and lots of her friends (she is quite popular). In the middle of the wedding she gave him a hot tub (for a great date??) and disappeared.
The rest of the wedding was a hit, the guy went on his honeymoon alone and her icon disappeared until I saved and reloaded the house.
It was strange.

I discovered today that if you have Pets when you look at a pet's learned behaviors you get two different descriptions for each, one good and one bad, depending on where you hover the mouse.
Hover over the top half of a behavior icon and you get the good description. The lower half gives you the bad description.

I learned that it isn't smart to leave the Triplets and Quads hack on in a Legacy.
I started on my second generation today, and I selected "random" for the number of babies. Guess what? I GOT QUADS. And the odds were only 5%. My founder is going to die. rofl

I discovered that a sim teen can ask her older (adult) sister for permission to go out.
I also discovered that if you have Twojeff's Trips and Quads in, Insim becomes that much less accurate in how many kids a sim is pregnant with-- I was promised one and got twins. :anime: Good thing it was the Legacy's third generation and the mother has a Family sim sister (the teen in the above discovery).

I was having fun torturing a test sim I had made to get a neighbourhood started earlier today. I rarely, if ever, let anything bad happen to my sims. I'm way too nice.
So after a while, for only the second time ever, I had a Social Bunny come to visit. I wasn't surprised. I also wasn't very surprised when they started fighting since Miss Unfortunate Test had no nice points on top of being sick, lonely, hungry, tired, uncomfortable, and smelly. What did surprise me is that the paper girl came and started cheering while they were fighting. Apparently Social Bunnies are visible during fights. Or maybe it's just the hubbub that attracted her attention.

It was iyesterday but nvm. I got my first werewolf (I'm slow, I know..) But he has custome skin so he doesn't have hair all over the place at night. He's pretty cool looking with the new hair and icon image at night - and good for taking care of baby Edeline.

I found out that, since nightlife, simmies can do the 'date' things (hold hands, feed each other) when having a normal meal at the kitchen table.
What!? I just never tried that before.

You know, I still haven't had a werewolf or vampire yet. I feel like such an inadequate Sims player.

Only when they are sitting next to each other or EXACTLY across the table. And it's funny to watch a kid's reaction to that. (Of course the "kid in question was one of my kids by the Grim reaper who realized when she became a teen that the really hot man who happens to be married to mom is not actually a relative, so she may have other reasons for disliking that. )

I discovered last night that I feel a certain sadness when my Sims grow old, especially since I decided not to prolong their lives any more than absolutely necessary. Most of my Sims now only get their normal allotment of days, and I grow really fond of them in the meantime. For the first time last night, I saw a Sim that had been born in-game grow old, at the same time as his wife, and though it made me a bit sad I didn't stop the process. They had been the same for such a long time, and I know that they'll only get so many days before they're gone. It's hard to imagine what their neighborhood will be like without them. Sigh.

I found out a couple days ago that a shy sim who is writing in their diary will pull it up and hide it on their chest and make a scared/suprised look when another sim walks in the room. xD I thought it was adorable... the funny thing is she still hides her diary from her husband now that she's an adult! :)

Aww, I had a sim that would constantly write in her diary. I thought it was adorable that moments after giving birth, she put the baby down to go and write in her diary about children's toys. A true sim-blogger! ;)

Weanu: You have to make them have a party by getting one over the phone when it's daytime.
