Simvalley Heights, Final Chapter

Firstly i'd like to say i am by no means a writer and definately not half as good as many of the story tellers on here, but i've had a great idea for a story and love putting my pictures to good use.
This story will be told by an old woman Mary, but don't be put off as it's not really about her but the residents of Simvalley.
I appreciate all comments good or bad and i do have the odd plumbob appear in a pic or 2 so sorry in advance for that.


Mary's Story begins here....


After the death of my husband Harold I decided to move back to my home town of Simvalley Heights.

Amazingly enough some of my old childhood friends are still here, alive and kicking :)
I purchased a small house on Simvalley Way and found myself a part-time job at the local florist and do the odd baby-sitting job for extra simoleons.

I love this town and the people in it. It’s a close knit community that’s not over populated and the people are lovely and friendly.Well most of them.

Now that I’ve told you a little about myself I will move on to tell you about some of the neighbours I’ve been following the lives of….

Warrick Summerville has 2 daughters Bethany and Brionne now 11 and 15.

His wife left him and their daughters for another man, 3 years ago, and unfortunately for the girls she hasn’t looked back.

Warrick felt he had to make it up to his daughters for their mother taking off and leaving her responsibilities behind. He believed girls should grow up with a mother in their life and always felt sad for them.

What he didn’t realize was that he was a model father who had alone raised 2 beautiful daughters who simply adored him.

Warrick worked hard for the first couple of years as a truck driver and provided well for his family. He made a good living and eventually took over the business, hiring extra staff to do the driving, leaving him with more time to be at home.

He has of course had troubles along the way but more on that later…..

On the other end of the scale we have Michael Goodwin. Who is married to a lovely woman by the name of Skylah. They have a 20 month old son Jeremy together.

but Michael works long hours often coming home long after their son has gone to bed and dinner has gone cold to a very unhappy wife.

Unbeknown to Michael, Skylah is having second thoughts about their marriage. She has tried talking to him but he insists they need the money to continue living the lifestyle they live. Skylah says it’s more important for Jeremy to have his daddy around and they don’t need materialistic things but Michael doesn’t listen……

Next we have Evalina and her younger brother Dean. Evalina runs the florist I work at and does modeling for a fashion magazine. She lives with her boyfriend and 2 other flatmates.

They all live a high lifestyle and enjoy fancy things. Although her flatmates are rather snooty Evalina remains friendly and sweet natured. I like working with her very much. She tells me of all the fancy parties she attends and of famous people and foods I have never heard of….

Her younger brother Dean is also very nice. He still lives with his parents as he is currently in highschool, but he spends most of his time at his mates playing video games.

Then there’s Ben. Ben is very quiet and keeps to himself.

He lost his wife Sarah to cancer just over a year ago and is having a hard time adjusting. I call in on him occasionally and bring tea and scones. I ask if he’d like to come to poker with me on Fridays but he always declines. He prefers to be alone.

Most recently a lovely girl named Jennifer moved in across the street with her son.

I saw the moving truck pull up as I was watering my garden the other day. I went and introduced myself and brought over a cherry pie.

She didn’t appear to have any help apart from her 12 year old son Brayden.

Jennifer seemed grateful for the offer of refreshments and explained how she had separated from an abusive husband and had moved back to where she grew up. Her parents were too old to offer any physical help and they were currently traveling but they were able to put a deposit on this house for her and her son.

The house was very run down but for now she didn’t care, she was just happy to have a roof over her and her sons head.

Being old myself I couldn’t offer much help either, but I did know of someone who could. I told Jennifer I would see what I could do although she said she would be fine and I made a phone call….

I knew Warrick would be more than happy to help a struggling single mother, or anyone for that matter and sure enough he was over to lend a hand.

When Warrick’s wife packed up and left, the girls, as expected, reacted badly. Brionne was 12 and Bethy only 6. Brionne was just about to hit her teens and therefore, this hit her quite hard. She withdrew and spent most of the first days in her bedroom.

Sometimes after Bethany had gone to bed and the TV was off he could faintly hear her crying in her room.
When Warrick would try to coax her out she would yell at him to go away, refusing to open the door.

Poor Warrick didn’t know what to do. He hated seeing his daughter like this, or not seeing her. He felt helpless pleading with her through her locked bedroom door wondering was she angry at him? Did she blame him for her mother leaving? ‘Please come out’ he would say. ‘Please come out and talk’

Bethany wasn’t coping much better, but her grief showed in a different way. Wining, answering back, grades slipping.

For the moment Warrick didn’t see any point in pushing Brionne, he understood how difficult this must be for her at such a delicate time in her life and decided to give her the time and space she needed.
Bethany he knew he could reach. Warrick was very patient and kind to his daughters but he was also very disciplined. So after a rather nasty tantrum thrown by Bethany he decided to put his foot down.

It had been many months now since their mother had left and he knew they couldn’t go on like this. As much as it pained him to do it, it was time to lay a few ground rules, for their own good.
First, after much arguing, he made Bethy sit at her desk and do her homework while he supervised, and assisted.

He also worked a ‘time-out’ rule for whenever she misbehaved. We spent many long hours on the phone Warrick and I. I was glad to be of some small assistance, even if only to lend an ear.
After some persistence, It didn’t take long for Bethy to come around. Now if only Warrick could get through to Brionne……

Evalina’s boyfriend Bailey came strutting into the shop again yesterday.

I really dislike him. He treats Evalina nice enough but he’s a bit too pretentious for my liking. Not my business to pass judgement though and Evalina seems smitten. She spends a lot of money on him too. Particularly expensive aftershave and brand name clothing.

She’s very generous, often bringing in little gifts for myself and Sophie who also works with us, whenever she feels we’ve been working hard. Sometimes she ducks out and brings back little cakes and sweets from the bakery across the street. So very thoughtful of her.

I really enjoy working with Evalina.
Now where was i? I’ve gone off topic...oh; I caught bits and pieces of their conversation. It’s a small shop you see. He was whisking her off for a ‘dirty weekend’ I heard him say. In the tropics!

Pulling up a chair she sat down beside him. ‘You know, it’s lovely down at Simwaters this time of year. How about you take some time off work?’ ‘ Just a weekend, I know you’re busy. For some R and R, just the 3 of us?’ She asked hopefully.

‘Can’t’ Was his dismissive reply. ‘I have deadlines’
‘It’s just a weekend honey, we haven’t spent a full weekend together since before I was pregnant.’
‘We would be back before dark on Sunday’ she pleaded.
Michael looked briefly in Skylah’s direction again.

‘I’m sorry’ he replied obviously distracted. ‘Maybe when things quiet down at work.’



Arriving home from work a little earlier than usual Michael found Skylah playing on the floor with Jeremy. It was as he leant down to give her a kiss when he noticed the suitcases.

‘What are the suitcases for’ he inquired. ‘You know I can’t take time off from work, especially at a time like this.’ He ranted. ‘ I have clients..’
‘The suitcases aren’t for you. Skylah cut him off. They’re for Jeremy and I, we’re leaving Michael.’.......

I was becoming increasingly concerned about Ben.

He just seemed to wallow around, never leaving his house except for groceries and cigarettes. Sometimes he would just sit and drink leaving empty bottles all over the floor and other times he’d spend staring at the many photographs of his late wife which were hung on his walls and around the house.

I really felt for Ben. He and Sarah loved eachother so much.
I remember when he first lost her. It happened sooner than he had expected but even still losing her was more than his heart could bear.

Sarah was a beautiful soul, my heart ached over losing her too but I stayed strong for Ben as I was the only person he would see. All I could do for him was keep his house clean and make sure he was getting enough to eat.

I just hope some happiness would come by soon to lift his spirits.
The more time that passes the worse he seems to get. As if he died when his wife did leaving nothing but an empty shell. Existing but somehow not living….

That was another wonderful update, I do feel sorry for Michael and Skylah, it seems that there marriage is on the rocks so to speak, let's hope he stops being such a workaholic and realises what he has.

Even Ben is looking out of shape too :( Let's hope that spirits soar in the next update :)

Now I really hate Michael's wife. She just doesn't realize that he needs to work and if he doesn't work, they are going to be out on the street eating crap out of the dumpster.

That's the problem with all women, I wish they will learn. Man I think that the religion of Mumlim is great, because the women have to do what you tell them to do.

I hope Michael's wife enhoys her time on the street, because by the way she is talking. I think that is where she belongs.

We all have our opinion freakaboutsims but Michael does not need to work the hours he does as they have everything they need and more. She wants him to spend more time with her and their son, she doesn't need materialistic things if it means a lack of support and time with her family.

Jennifer sits at the table with Brayden eating yet another bland meal of Mac and Cheese. ‘I’m sorry about the food sweetie’ she says. ‘And the house.’
‘I know you’re probably embarrassed to bring your new friends here but I promise things will get better, as soon as I find some work.’ She leant over and rubbed his hand at an attempt to sound reassuring.

‘Mum I don’t care!’ Brayden insisted. ‘And I’m not too embarrassed to bring friends over, I just haven’t made any yet’ he stirred his food.

‘Stop it mum’ he laughed. ‘I’m not that worried, honest.’

But Jennifer was worried, she really didn’t know how she was going to pay the bills without an income and she felt terrible that she’d taken Brayden away from his school and friends and everything he knew and was comfortable with.

She wished at least she’d had time to pack properly so he didn’t have to leave so many of his things behind. She would make it up to him she promised herself. She would make sure her son would get back all that he lost…..

After skipping yet another day of school without her father knowing Brionne wandered into her fathers bedroom. She was still feeling lost and angry and not knowing why, or what she was looking for, began opening the drawers in his bedroom.

As she was about to close the second drawer she noticed what looked like a piece of paper. She reached in and pulled out what turned out to be an envelope addressed to her dad, with papers inside.

Opening the papers she read that her mother was filing for divorce. Angrily she ripped out the other letter. Tears began to sting her eyes as she read.
The only words she could fully comprehend through her tears were these…"You can have the girls, I never wanted children anyway, you did, so they're yours…"
Just then Warrick walked through the door, at first irritated that she was in his room snooping until he saw what she had in her hands.
‘Brionne…’ he started. ‘You weren’t meant to see that.’

‘You weren’t going to tell me!’ She yelled before breaking down again. ‘Why doesn’t she want us?’
Warrick walked toward her. ‘I’m so sorry Dad’ Brionne whimpered. ‘I’m sorry for being mad at you, I’m sorry for not talking to you..i don’t know why but I thought it was your fault she left.
Warrick took her shoulders in his hands and spoke gently. ‘Don’t you ever be sorry for your mother leaving. It was her choice, not yours, not mine but hers. And what she said was true, I was the one who wanted children and I don’t regret that for a minute.You are a beautiful girl , Look at me sweetheart’, he gently coaxed as she lowered her face. ‘You are a beautiful girl who didn’t deserve for a mother to leave you. She is a fool! It is her loss, I don’t want you to think for a minute that any of this is your fault, do you understand me?’

Brionne sniffed and nodded lightly,pausing before she answered. ‘Thanks Dad’
Warrick rubbed her shoulders 'We'll be ok Bree' as he affectionately called her. 'And i'm always here for you, Just because your mother left does not mean i will, i want you to be certain of that.'
'Ok' Brionne replied.

‘Now come here and give your old Dad a hug’ he smiled.

Hi all,

As I was leaving from a visit with Ben, I queried. ‘Now I know you’re still not ready for visitors but there’s a young lady moved in across from me who is raising her son alone and in dire need of financial assistance.’ I began.

‘Her name is Jennifer and I was hoping maybe you could let her clean your house for you, instead of me. I’m happy to keep doing it for you but if you would be so kind? She wouldn’t ask for much and she’s very sweet. I’m sure she wouldn’t get in your way.’ I asked tentatively.
‘I’ll bring her around to meet you tomorrow if you’d like?
Ben was hesitant, but also very soft and did not like to hear of anyone struggling. He was also very financially independent. I was still surprised when he agreed.

So the next afternoon I brought Jennifer to meet Ben. She was a little awkward but desperate for any small job she could get. And such a relief he was allowing someone apart from myself into his home.

‘She later called me to tell me how her first visit went and to thank me. She also told me he was very kind to her and offered her refreshments throughout the day and to help herself to whatever she needed. Apart from that she said, he was very quiet and sat outside and read while she cleaned.

Still, it’s something…..

Michael was gobsmacked. He gave Skylah everything she wanted, didn’t he? A nice modern home, a cupboard full of clothes, whatever she wanted. Why would she give that all up to move in to her parents place?

At first Michael carried on doing what he always did. Work! But after Skylah left it didn’t take long for him to see the changes it made to his life. For one thing there were no more nice home cooked meals for him to come home to, even if they had gone cold. He’d been living on sandwiches and TV dinners for the last week.

His shirts were no longer clean and pressed and boy did he miss those neck massages Skylah would give him when he got home. And as much as he thought it annoyed him when they were here, he missed hearing them. No sounds of Skylah chatting away or Jeremy’s little giggles. This house was no longer a home. Perhaps he had taken her for granted. If just a little.
Michael decided to go and see her tomorrow, ask her to come home.

‘I like what you’ve done to your hair.’ Michael observed as he walked into the spare room of his in-laws house where Skylah was now staying.
‘Thanks’ she replied uneasily.
She looked radiant, different somehow.

Michael began to tell Skylah how much he missed her and wanted her home. How he missed not having anyone there when he got home from work and he wouldn’t take her for granted anymore.

Skylah listened patiently as he went on, promising her a brand new wardrobe or perhaps hiring some help around the house so she could have some free time to herself.
Skylah couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
‘You just don’t get it do you’ she could barely contain herself. ‘If I wanted petty possessions I would buy them myself. I didn’t marry you so you could have clean shirts for work I married you because I thought we would be happy together, spending our lives together. We barely see eachother. You’re missing out on so much and you can’t even see it Michael!’
‘I would have been happy to live in a shack with you if it meant we would see eachother more often. Why can’t you see that?’

Michael was stunned. He didn’t expect this! Wasn’t she hearing him? He turned to leave. ‘Call me when you come to your senses.’
In Michaels eyes a man needs to work to support his family. Skylah appreciated that but she also knew a man needs to spend quality time with his family. Especially when the man in question earns much more than they need…

He told me how the girls are doing, the perils of teenage years. Brionne has a boyfriend now and he’s not ready for that. I ask if he’s met anyone special himself. Of couse he hasn’t.
‘Jennifer is very pretty.’ I hinted.

‘Yes she is very pretty and I know exactly what you’re playing at Mary’ he smiled wryly at me.
Actually I saw her yesterday as I was taking Bethany to the cinema, she tells me she’s cleaning Ben’s house now.

Well it’s good to hear Ben is finally coming around. Poor fellow.
‘Yes well he’s not quite there yet but time heals all wounds as they say’
'Now as I was saying before, Jennifer is still fairly new to the area, why don’t you take her out one night, show her around.'
‘You know how I feel about women Mary, after what Donna did to us.

Evalina is back at work, relaxed and looking more radiant and tanned than ever, such lovely skin that girl.
She showed me her photo’s of her weekend, on the computer, which she tells me was wonderful and romantic.

I was more fascinated at first at the way she plugged her camera right into the computer and was able to veiw them right away. I'm not so good with technology. I still take my film to the store for developing.

Anyway, She told me that during the day the beach was quite full of people but the mornings were great because they had the beach all to themselves

I know i haven't updated for a while as i've been building and decorating a mall in game, takes so long! So i've just whipped up those 2 little updates for you so you know i haven't neglected the story :)

I don't think Skylah is in the wrong at all, even though I can't exactly relate (I'm a guy and still at school) I know what it's like when you never see a loved one because they are always busy with something else, you'd give anything to be with them. And in this case Skylah is willing to give up a bit of money so that her family is complete - fair enough!

I don't think Skylah is in the wrong at all. Michael and Skylah remind me so much of my mom and dad. My dad is always at work and my mom knows that he has to support the family but we barely see him and when we do see him, it's only for a few hours then he's asleep. I think they're in a very hard predicament. All Skylah wants in love from her husband, not more material things. All Michael has to do is make some adjustments to his job and they'll be happy. :) Wow, I made them sound real. LOL

Wow i've started a war here.
FreakaboutSims i appreciate you're feedback, and am happy you're liking the story and are obviously very involved but i have stated in the story that Michael makes MORE than enough money to support them, also Skylah works part-time (which i hadn't mentioned yet) so it's Michael that wants more 'posessions' i guess you would say whereas Skylah wants some quality time with her husband every now and again and there's a communication breakdown in thier relationship.
Hope that clears things up.
Remember..they are only sims and this is only a story.

So anyways i think i've just wasted a whole entire weekend making a Mall because now i've sent people there my the game slows down until it eventually freezes. My computer just can't handle it.
Tomorrow i will continue writing the story again...

Ben seemed a little less depressed last time I visited. He seems to have taken well to Jennifer’s company.

He was telling me they often have a chat after she’s finished the cleaning and she told him what led her back to Simvalley Heights.

Jennifer’s husband Wayne would often come home drunk and was often abusive towards her, both mentally and physically.

She had put up with it for Brayden’s sake until one night when Wayne had been particularly violent;

Brayden came out of his room to defend his mother when Wayne swung a punch at him.

Her original fear of leaving Wayne had, in an instant, turned into an even bigger fear of staying. It was one thing for her to take a fist from her husband but it was her responsibility to protect her son.
She waited until her husband had passed out on the couch before grabbing what little she could in her haste, grabbing Brayden and fleeing.

Jennifer was thankful she had bought herself a cheap old car 2 months earlier or she couldn’t fathom how she would have got away so quickly. Worse, she may still be stuck there with the Beast as she refers to him.

I was curious as to why then, there was a truck dropping off furniture outside her house and I was informed that the Salvo’s had donated furniture to help her get back on her feet.

Ben then said that hearing Jennifer’s story made him realize his world isn’t all that bad. ‘Don’t get me wrong Mary’ he said. 'I will always suffer the heartache of losing Sarah but it’s time I stopped feeling sorry for myself, especially when there’s people out there a lot worse off than I am, and who have suffered more than i have. I was blessed with a loving wife and the happy times i shared with her.’

I was quite engaged in what Ben was telling me, or rather that Ben was focused on something other than losing his wife. It was terribly brutal what Jennifer suffered but I was relieved to see there may be hope for Ben yet. Although I didn’t say anything, I kept my fingers crossed....

I ran into Michael at the mall as he was coming off the escalator. He was off to buy himself take-away again.

I knew of his situation with Skylah as I sometimes mind Jeremy when she goes to work, if her parents aren’t available. It wasn’t hard not to see the strain this left on Michael’s face, so I asked how he was.
At first he didn’t want to discuss it and I said goodbye and was about to walk away when he stopped me and asked if I would mind coming over for a chat when I was done with my shopping.

Michael couldn’t understand why Skylah was so unhappy so I asked if he’d asked her and he relayed what she had told him. Eyes opening as if he had just heard this for the first time.

Michael then paused for a moment. ‘I thought this was what she wanted’ he seemed confused. ‘A big house, nice clothes. I bought a big flat screen TV not so long ago.’
‘And she can go shopping whenever she wants’
‘Perhaps it’s not shopping she wants’ I responded carefully.
‘But isn’t that what all women want?’ He asked perplexed.

‘Well I would say most women do enjoy clothes and gifts and I’m sure she is very grateful’ I also know she appreciates how you look after her and Jeremy financially, but tell me Michael, What is the point of having all these things if there’s no-one to share it with? I asked gently.

‘It seems Skylah is willing to sacrifice these things to spend time with the man she loves, and it would be a terrible shame to miss out on the growing years of your young son. Surely there is a way to compromise?’
Michael seemed to be struggling to comprehend this information so I slowly continued.
‘You know, my Harold, god rest his soul, worked very hard too, we were on a very tight budget back then and jobs were sparse, but he always made time for us. Even if it was a picnic in the backyard with a bottle of apple cider and some sandwiches, and every Christmas we would take a walk together around the streets to see all the Christmas lights people had put up.’ I recalled.

This next chapter isn't well written, apologies in advance. I needed to put across a relationship for a later chapter and was basically just too lazy to go back in the game to take specific pictures as it would have taken forever
ie: load game, load town, load house, send people to community, you know the drill...10 hours later...yes i have way too many downloads lol
So anyways i whipped this one up quickly-ish with the pics i already had.






Warrick dropped his daughters off at the mall while he did some grocery shopping.
‘You girls stay together won’t you. Don’t go wandering off anywhere on your own ok.’
‘No dad’ they replied in unison before heading off.
‘And meet me back here in an hour’ He called after them.

‘Hey there’s Evalina’ Bethany pointed toward Evalina coming down the escalator.

Both Evalina and Warrick had lived in Simvalley Heights all their lives and now lived on the same street.
Brionne and Bethany always got a kick out of seeing her. Apart from the fact she was practically famous she was also a good influence on the girls and always had time for them.
‘Hi girls’ She waved. ‘Where’s your dad?’
‘He’s buying groceries and we get to go shopping by ourselves.’ Bethany chirped. ‘But can we hang out with you?’
Evalina laughed. ‘Of course you can, I’m just going to SMV to buy some CD’s for a party we’re having next week.’
‘oh that’s where we were going too’ Brionne replied. ‘Dad gave me some money to buy the new Greenday album.’
‘Cool’ Said Evalina as they entered the store. ‘And what about you Beth. Did your dad give you money for a CD too?
‘Yep!’ I’m buying Britney Spears. ‘She’s so pretty’ Beth giggled.
‘She’s got nothin’ on you Bethy.’ Evalina winked as she paid for her CD’s. ‘You girls had lunch?’

‘Not yet.’ Brionne replied.
‘Want McDonald’s?’
‘I do, I do’ Bethany cheered hugging her around the waist.’Can we have a sundae too?’
‘Bethany!’ Brionne gently pushed her arm. ‘That’s bad manners! You can’t ask that.’
Brionne smiled apologetically at Evalina.
‘Oh it’s alright’ Evalina smoothed Bethany’s ponytail.’She’s just excited’.

Evalina let Bethany order their food while she chatted with Brionne at the booth they were sitting at.
‘So your dad tells me you’ve got a boyfriend’
‘HAD a boyfriend’ Brionne corrected.
Just then Bethany returned to the booth. ‘He was yukky. She said overhearing their conversation. ‘and he always called me Beffany’

Evalina chuckled. She adored Warricks daughters and loved spending time with them as much as they did with her.
After they had eaten Evalina finished off her coke.‘Well I better get going.'

'I need to pop in and see Jennifer and you girls need to meet your Dad. Come on, I’ll walk back down with you.’

Hearing of Jennifer’s predicament, Evalina paid her a visit.

‘Now why didn’t you tell me you were looking for a job?’ She asked her when Jennifer greeted her outside in her pj's.
‘Well it’s kind of embarrassing’ Jennifer cringed slightly. ‘And I’m not exactly qualified for anything decent.'
'I left school early being pregnant with Brayden.'
Evalina shook her head at her. ‘Now You don’t need qualifications to deliver flowers for me ,I could use a delivery girl, I’m run off my feet with the business and photo shoots. What do you say?’

Jennifer could hardly contain herself. ‘Oh Evalina you are the best!’ Thank you sooo much for this, you won’t regret it I promise.’ She squealed.
‘Don’t be silly’. Evalina replied happily. ‘We’re friends aren’t we?’

As they were chatting on the front porch Brayden walked out after hearing the commotion. Jennifer introduced him to Evalina before dashing inside to change out of her pajama’s.
While Jennifer was inside Evalina, noticing Brayden looking down the street nervously, asked what the problem was.
Brayden explained that some of the older kids from school walked past on a Friday on their way to the skate park and had been picking on him and calling him a loser.

‘A loser! Evalina exclaimed. ‘But you’re so cute! Why would they call you that? I see school hasn’t changed much then, God I’m glad those days are over.’
Jennifer, back in regular clothes, nodded in agreement.
Brayden blushed ‘But wouldn’t you have been like a cheerleader or something? Really popular?’ Brayden stumbled.
‘Oh god no’ Evalina replied. ‘I was called Gonzo at school.’ Heard every nose joke under the sun.’
‘But you’re a model!’ Brayden was dumbfounded. ‘And you don’t have a big nose at all.’

Evalina laughed. ‘No not now I don’t, I had my adenoids removed and had the surgeons make some adjustments at the same time. Now these boys you’re having trouble with. I think I have an idea.’

‘I’ve given what you said last time we talked a lot of thought and I was hoping we could talk?’ He asked her softly.
‘Of course Michael, my parents are out to dinner if you’d like to come over now?’
‘Besides, I have something I think I need to tell you.’

Skylah didn’t need to tell Michael anything, for he could see with his own eyes that she was pregnant as soon as she opened the door.
He didn’t know what to say!
So instead he just rubbed her belly.

‘I know you’re probably wondering why I haven’t told you’ she said. ‘ but we haven’t seen eachother for over 2 months and with all the stress lately I didn’t realize myself until 6 weeks ago’
‘How far along are you?’ He asked.
‘Just gone 5 months, come into the lounge, Jeremy would love to see you.’


Michael almost broke down when he saw his little boy. Until that moment he hadn’t been aware of the strain this whole separation had had on him.
‘Look at you’ He lifted Jeremy off the floor. ‘Aren’t you getting a big boy!’
Jeremy giggled and bounced up and down indicating he wanted to play. Michael playfully roughed him up and tossed him in the air as Skylah looked on from the lounge.

‘He’s missed you, you know’.
‘I’ve missed him too’ Michael replied holding Jeremy close then putting him down and turning toward Skylah.

‘And I’ve missed you’
Michael joined Skylah on the lounge and went on to explain why he worked as often as he did and how he couldn’t understand what Skylah had meant whenever she had tried talking to him. He said it might take him a while but he will look for other options considering his work situation.
Whatever makes her happy. ‘I love you Skylah’
‘And I’ll do anything it takes to make our marriage work. I want you to come home’

Skylah touched his cheek explaining to him how she felt and how she appreciated how he looked after them financially. She told him what a wonderful husband he really was but the lack of communication was too much. She felt like she was losing him. And she loved him too.

But she wasn’t ready to come home unless they had marriage counseling. Skylah knew a chat and a hug wouldn’t improve their relationship in the long run. She wasn’t naïve and she’d had her share of complicated relationships before meeting and marrying Michael.
Michael was the love of her life and she wanted to make sure this was what he really wanted. Children or not. She didn’t want to raise their children in a loveless relationship.

Michael readily agreed, which was unusual for him. He was a man’s man. But the separation had softened him. He had come to realize the importance of family, and he wasn’t willing to lose them again.

They continued to talk and agreed that Skylah would stay with her parents for another month while they began their counseling. Once they felt comfortable and Michael started working less hours she would come back home.
Michael was a little hurt, but he knew she meant what she said.
Skylah rose from the lounge and scooped up Jeremy.
‘I need to put Jeremy to bed and I’m a little tired myself.’ She said sleepily.
Michael walked around to kiss his son goodnight, a little pain in his tummy having to leave him again.
‘I’ll call and make an appointment for us as early as possible.’ He said kissing his wife goodbye. ‘And thankyou Skylah’
She looked at him curiously.

‘What time do you say these boys come past? 4?’ Make sure you’re out front at that time ok, see you then’.

The next afternoon as usual Brian, David and Wil strode down the road making their usual comments and jeers at Brayden.
‘Loser’ one of them yelled out. ‘Won’t mummy let you out to play’ Teased another.

Brayden sat on the front steps quietly, not brave enough to say anything and hoping nervously that Evalina wouldn’t let him down. He ignored them and continued to wait.

Just as he was about to give up and go inside he saw a car coming around the bend. It was her! She remembered! Brayden refrained himself from jumping up and down. He didn’t want to look any more like a geek in front of those boys, even if he was about to show them up.

Evalina pulled up out the front and true to her word she had one of the biggest faces of the most popular mens magazine with her.
Cassandra Lane.

He could barely believe his own eyes. Cassandra Lane, swimsuit model, drop dead gorgeous as was Evalina, right there out the front of his house. And calling out his name.

He watched as they hopped out of the car. ‘Brayden, honey’ Evalina called to him. ‘Cassandra and I are off to the beach and thought you might wanna tag along’.

‘We’re meeting up with some pals at the beach house and you know the girls just love you down there.’ she continued as they walked toward the house.’

By this time Brayden had almost forgotten the boys standing near the corner of his house. He looked out of the corner of his eyes and sure enough they were astounded. Standing there with their mouths open.

The next bit was funny. After they regained their composure The leader, Brayden presumed, thinking he was just it, strode over.
‘Ladies’ he started. ‘Now what would you want with a punk like him when you can have 3 sexy Men like us’ he grinned at them.
‘I’m sure your lady friends would much prefer the experience of a mans hand from a boys’
Was he serious? Brayden thought to himself. They were barely older than him. He struggled to prevent himself from busting out loud. Although he didn’t need to as both Cassandra and Evalina did it for him.

‘And hurry, you don’t want to keep the girls waiting.’ They called out as they followed him in.

Once inside Brayden wooped. ‘Did you see their faces? That was soo cool’
He peeked out the window to see they were only just starting to walk away, muttering amongst themselves still in shock.
‘Do ya reckon it worked?’ He asked. ‘Ya know I don’t even care, that was the best thing that’s ever happened to me and it’s all thanks to you.’
‘Anything for my friends little boy, sorry little man’ Evalina winked….

I like this story a lot; I just read the whole thing. I like the way the characters all have a certain depth to them, and I especially like the way you've organized the plot around Mary. She makes it a little easier to see how they all connect and to remember who everyone is and what they're up to. Please keep going and write moremoremore!

Ben looked like a different person when I went to see him yesterday. He was in good spirits as he recalled the previous days events.
Jennifer has become a regular visitor to his home.
They had been having one of their many deep and meaningfuls, talking about their past and present listening to music and apparently having a few too many too drink when Jennifer screamed. ‘Your rugs on fire!’

He said at first they ran around in circles trying to stomp out the fire when Ben remembered he had a fire extinguisher and began putting it out.

Once they had the fire out Jennifer suddenly started laughing at how ridiculous they must have looked ‘You looked so funny’ she said catching her breath before bursting into the fits of giggles again. Before he knew it Ben also began laughing. They laughed so much so they were rolling on the floor. He didn’t know if it were the many whiskeys they’d had or maybe the fact he hadn’t laughed in such a long time but they just couldn’t stop.

' I haven't laughed so much in my life' he told me.

When they had calmed down a little Jennifer jumped up. You know what you need’ she announced a little giddy.
‘What’
‘A makeover!’
‘Do you think that’s safe in our state?’
‘Of course it is’ she said excitedly. ‘Come on’
She helped him up off the floor and they headed to the bathroom. ‘Now sit down and relax’
‘Trust me’ she laughed seeing the look of apprehension on his face.

‘It’s ok I’ve done this before, got halfway through a hairdressing apprenticeship before Wayne made me give it up.’ She said placing a towel around his neck.
20 minutes later Ben stood up and looked at his reflection in the mirror. He didn’t even recognize himself, he was a different man.

I admired his new look, and told him so.

He went on to tell me after his haircut they went outside and sat under the stars making small talk for a while before Jennifer got up to leave. ‘And then I kissed her’ he said abruptly but quietly.

I was startled.
‘I think I’m falling for her Mary.’
‘She’s sweet and funny and has no pretentiousness about her. She’s had a rough trot along the way and yet she remains gentle and down to earth.’
I told Ben I thought it was wonderful as she is a lovely person and he’s very deserving of her.
I think something beautiful is about to unfold….

I have some really bad news :weep:
My sims game won't load!!! It keeps getting stuck on Crenellating Crenelations :banghead:
I's now 10 to 6 and i've been trying different things since 2pm i'm losing my mind now. I don't know if one of my 4000 download files is corrupt or there's a scratch in the disc and being FFS i can't use another disc instead and i can't uninstall the ba***** because it will wipe everything.
I'm so stressed out right now, as i have even prepared the ending of the story so i would have actually finished this one.
I can only think of 2 things:
1. Install Pets so i can use that disc but again i may lose everything or
2. Go and buy another FFS pack-i don't even know if another ffs disc would work???
Or if anyone has any idea's that won't make me do my head in....i'll check back in over the next day or so :( :( :(

*runs back in* It loaded!!!! I think there was a corrupt file i must have deleted the right one whew. Something weird happened though, i have to reload Bluewater village for some reason as if i had just installed the game for the first time? Oh well i really don't care. I just won't go there and i'll try to take as many ingame shots as possible in case this happens again and when i finally load pets i'm starting from scratch..so here's to many weeks of redownloading lol

My dear friend Denise passed away on Friday. Her heart gave out they said. Almost the whole neighbourhood attended her funeral and paid their respects. It was a lovely service but all the same, very sad.

She will be missed, especially by me.
Denise never married and therefore didn’t have any children so I held the wake at my home.
Later when I had time to relax it dawned on me that Denise was only 65, 4 years older than I. My time may very well soon be up and I’m not ready to go just yet.

My thoughts were cut short when my phone rang. Evalina was on her mobile telling me she wouldn’t be in tomorrow and gave me a brief rundown on why. I offered her a place to stay but she was on foot, she said, and Warrick lived just around the corner so she was headed there for now.

Over at the Sommerville residence Warrick was watching tv when the doorbell rang.
Evalina was standing at his door wreathing. ‘Hey Waz, You think I could bunk here for a few nights?’

‘Sure Ev, you know you’re always welcome here. What’s happened?’ He asked gesturing for her to come inside.
‘Sorry it’s late’ she said after she put her bag down and taking a seat on the couch.
‘You’re all right Ev, so what’s up?’ He asked again. ‘Weren’t you having a party tonight? Don’t tell me…Drank too much and had a fight with Bailey?’

‘Worse’ Evalina replied. She went on to explain how the party was fine, everyone was having a great time dancing and swimming in the pool. Dean and some of his mates had shown up also and were doing bombs in the pool. Evalina was catching up with some friends in the spa when she looked around and noticed she hadn’t seen Bailey for ages. So she got out of the spa, dried off and put her clothes back on and went to search for him. Only to walk around the side of the house to see him making out with Kate!

‘Right there in my own backyard, my boyfriend and my best friend, How charming was that!’ She added sarcastically.

Warrick didn’t exactly need to console Evalina, she wasn’t heartbroken about it. But extremely p*ssed off.
Warrick told her she was better off without him, well both of them. She deserved better than that the gorgeous girl that she was. Warrick didn’t think much of Bailey, thought he was a sleaze.
Evalina continued. ‘Can you believe he had the hide to stand there and try to worm his way out of it. Saying it was Kate who was coming on to him!’
‘Well didn’t she have a fit! Apparently it’s been going on for a while. Nice!’

‘so what happened then’ Warrick asked.
‘Well I slapped Bailey across the face.’ Evalina laughed coldly. ‘Then Kate tried to attack me, b*tch, so I slapped her too’
‘That shut her up’ she laughed again and so did Warrick.
‘I went inside and took a shower, threw some clothes in a bag, and ended up here’
She said Dean had caught her on her way out the front door asking where she was off to and she was in such a filthy mood she pushed straight past him and left.

‘So are you sure you don’t mind me staying here for a bit?’

I invited Skylah inside where she told me she had not long moved back where she belongs with Michael and so far things had been going well. Michael had placed his resignation in at work explaining his family is his number one priority and his work took him away from them for too much of his time. Seeing the look of horror on my face she assured me all was OK as his employer desperately wanted to keep him on board as he was too valuable to the company to lose and offered him a promotion with a pay rise and standard business hours including weekends off! Meaning much more time at home compared to the 70 + hours a week he was doing before.

‘That’s so good to hear, perhaps he just needed a little push in the right direction.’ I smiled.

Skylah rubbed her belly prompting me to ask her about the pregnancy. She was 6 and a half months along and the little one was apparently quite active already. Skylah said she was loving this pregnancy very much and often watched as he or she kicked and moved about.

‘Do you have any names chosen yet?’ I asked.
‘To be honest we haven’t given it much thought, we’ve been so caught up in our own affairs at the moment. Skylah replied. ‘I suppose we really should start thinking about it though.’

As Skylah went to leave she turned and gave me a hug, which was completely out of character for her, must be the hormones.
‘It was lovely seeing you. Feel free to pop in any time’ she said. ‘And thanks again Mary’

Off topic here but not allowed to double post. Something happened in my game that I have never seen before and I’d like to share it with you. From out of nowhere Skylah burst into tears??? And what was funny was Mary turned to look at the camera as if to say ‘huh? What did I say wrong?’ LOL Hormones out of whack due to being pregnant?? If so, how realistic!

Sorryi haven't updated, had writers block. I knew what i wanted to write but couldn't get it down on paper grrr. But tonight i got back into the flow and have written 3 chapters, one of them will be in around 3 parts.

Don't worry about me (and apparently others) having seen Ben & Jen coming; it actually seemed a little bit like maybe Mary was trying to set them up... two lonely souls getting over rough times.... speaking of updates, i will try to post tonight after work i really want to get this story finished before i lose interest and there's things i want to do with sims but can't till i complete this story so it will be coming to and end soon.

Jennifer was slowly getting back on her feet. She was now working in Evalina’s florist as well as making the deliveries.
And she was still cleaning Ben’s house once a week although there really wasn’t much to clean since Ben made pretty sure it was all done before she arrived.

Gradually Jennifer decorated and remodelled her home. The first thing she did was replace the mouldy lino in the kitchen as Brayden suffered from asthma and she knew it wasn’t healthy for him. She also replaced the kitchen cabinets with help from Ben and Warrick. They were still second hand but in great condition and at a fantastic price. With the money she saved she was even able to buy a microwave.

Her biggest job was repainting the exterior of the house. Jennifer didn’t particularly care what other people thought but looking at it everytime she got home from work was plain depressing.
Some parts of the house were OK. She would leave the wallpaper on some of the walls like the lounge area and Braydens room. But her room would definitely be needing a new coat of paint and she could now get rid of that dreadful bed that was donated to her when she first arrived. It smelt like something had maybe died on it. God only knew and as kind as it was of the salvo’s to find one for her she was glad to see it taken away.

Jennifer adored her newly made over room. Each piece was bought little by little and it was the one room in her house that genuinely reflected her personality.

A dining table and chairs……and best of all she could replace everything Brayden lost when they moved here, plus more.
She understood how important it was to a boy of his age to have the latest gadjets and technology.
Ben bought her a small flat screen TV. ‘Think of it as as a late housewarming’ he said to her when she protested.
At last her house finally felt like a home.

As Jennifer and Ben cuddled on the lounge in front of the fire after finishing off the finishing touches to the house and cleaning up she told him how lucky she was to have met him. She added after all the hardships she’d had in the past she was beyond believing anything good would ever come her way, until Ben.
And now she had a steady income, a comfortable home she could call her own, a beautiful new man, and her son was no longer being picked on buy those older boys. Thanks to Evalina.

Things were finally looking up….

What started off as a few days stay at Warricks turned into months. Evalina enjoyed being with him and the girls, she said they made her feel like part of the family. She was done with the partying and sick to death of her superficial friends.

Like I told you earlier, Evalina is very generous. She loved spoiling the girls and taking them shopping for clothes or to the movies.
They were very fond of HER too.

For someone who was very well known and wealthy she was very natural. No airs and graces and plenty of fun. She always had time for Brionne and Bethany. She loved the affection she received from Beth and the little stories Brionne would tell her that she would never say in front of her Dad.

and Her and Warrick were the best of mates despite the age difference.
Well she decided she better find herself a place soon before she grew roots!

Something was stopping her though, as she sat up one night thinking. What was it?
And then it came to her.

( yes I know you can all see this coming but I did warn you I wasn’t a ‘writer’ lol )

It was quite late and everyone was asleep of course. She walked quietly into Warrick’s room, in her underwear. ‘Are you awake?’ she whispered.
He sat up and blinked. ‘I am now’ he mumbled. ‘What’s wrong, are the kids Ok?
‘Yeh they’re fine’ she didn’t know how to start. ‘I just wanted to…um’
‘Oh screw it’, she thought to herself. ‘Action speaks louder than words.’

The following morning was a little awkward.

Warrick made small talk with her and went to work as usual leaving Evalina feeling a little empty and disappointed.
Had she read the signs wrong? Did he think it was just a one-off.
He didn’t think that was usual behavior from her did he? She thought angrily.
Evalina tried to clear her mind.
She needed a distraction.

Grabbing a magazine she sat down and flicked thought it…not working. ‘Maybe I’ll go for a run’
It wasn’t long before she called and invited me over, where she told me the whole thing. I wasn’t surprised at her feelings for Warrick, at least not as much as she was.
I didn’t offer Evalina any advice, this was something she needed to sort through with Warrick on her own. I just listened. But I did ask her to let me know how it goes when he get’s home…..

Evalina decided to bide her time and talk to Warrick later once Brionne and Bethany were in bed.
For now she tried to ‘act normal’ as they prepared dinner in the kitchen.

Once the girls were in their rooms Warrick and Evalina began clearing up in the kitchen. Evalina could stand it no longer.
‘What the hell is going on with you’ she demanded.
Warrick looked at her. ‘what do you mean? ‘he questioned.
‘Uh last night!’
‘Isn’t there anything you want to talk about, or ask even?’
‘Or do you think I just randomly jump into mens bed’s in the middle of the night’ she huffed
Warrick stifled a laugh.
‘What the hell?!’ Evalina slammed down a pot.

‘First you practically ignore me and now you laugh in my face!’
‘Sorry’ he said chewing his lip.
‘It’s just ..you know when Donna left…’
‘ENOUGH WITH THE DONNA CRAP AlLREADY!’she shouted. Then remembering the girls were probably still awake she lowered her voice, but not too much.
‘I’m so sick to death of hearing you use it as an excuse not to get close to anyone and I’ve had it’
‘We have been friends for as long as I can remember and you know’ by now she was right up to Warricks face.

He was taken aback, he wasn’t used to being downsized, but Evalina continued.
‘We would be great together. I absolutely adore you and the girls, and I may not have realized it at first but being here has shown me how much I love this family. I would NEVER hurt any of you but the way you’ve treated me today, I don’t know…’she trailed off. ‘Maybe I was wrong. But I will tell you this…. you keep comparing every woman that comes into you’re life like that lowlife ex of yours, then you’re going to be one lonely man.’

Evalina’s head began to hurt. She threw the tea towel she had in her hand onto the bench. ‘I’ll be out of the house first thing in the morning’ she said before walking out of the kitchen.



Warrick looked terrible when he opened the front door to greet me. ‘I came as soon as I could, is everything alright.
Warrick sat down, head in his hands. ‘I think I’ve just made the biggest mistake of my life…

Starwyn, being a writer (in my opinion at least) isn't about surprising your readers (haha I almost wrote 'characters') at every turn; the most important thing is to make your readers care about and relate to the characters. Now, I wanted those 2 couples to happen (ok, wasn't that specific, didn't know which one Jen would go with at first...) because it seemed like they'd be really good together and make each other happy. So don't think of your having done what I-- and others-- HOPED would happen as making you a bad writer. On the contrary, it's good to see characters we care about make good decisions and improve their situations in life. You're a good writer because you get us attached to the characters, you give them each their own personalities, you take time to craft your plots and write them out, and probably lots of other things but this sentence is way too long.

Or am I speaking too soon? Warrick, shape up!

I really love taking piccies of my sims but it's so annoying when i can't get the ones i want, or it's taking too long-that's the frustrating part.

I did see Evalina and Warrick getting together but I didn't know what approach you would take. I previously thought that Warrick and Jennifer would get together. I didn't suspect Ben and Jennifer would become a couple until the actual chapter that they did. They are so adorable together, by the way!

And you're a great writer! I hope you write more Sim stories.

I was awoken in the wee hours of the morning to a car screeching to a holt outside my home.
I peered out the window to see a panicked Michael lifting a sleepy and disgruntled little boy from his carseat.
Skylah had gone into labor and they were on the way to the hospital if I wouldn’t mind having Jeremy.

Yawning I took the toddler into my arms as I assured Michael he was more than welcome to leave Jeremy with me as they brought their new child into the world, and not to worry about a thing.

I simply adored little Jeremy, he looked so sweet resting his head on my shoulder.

His eyelids were drooping again as I lay him down to sleep. He was almost 3 now and didn’t quite understand that he would be getting a new little brother or sister.

When he woke later that morning he ate all his breakfast and then I read him a story before bundling him up and driving us back to his home where I thought he would be more comfortable.
While we waited to hear news on the baby front I made some Christmas cookies (it was that time of year again) and did a little tidying.

Jeremy was so well behaved, very quiet actually. Perhaps he sensed something was happening.

He was happily playing on the floor when Michael and Skylah finally arrived home bringing in not one, but TWO tiny babies!

‘Yep’ Michael replied grinning, little Nathan here must have been hiding behind his sister Tiana when we had the ultrasound done.

Well double the love I say, and I’m always here to help. You know how I adore the little ones’
I noted to Skylah how surprised I was that she was home already after just having them less than 12 hours ago but she assured me both her and the babies were perfectly healthy and she said she felt more comfortable in her own home.
‘You must be exhausted, both of you. Why don’t you two take a nap, I’ll look after the babies’

Michael and Skylah thanked me and went to lie down while I sat on the lounge and watched the twins while telling Jeremy of all the responsibilities he had as a Big Brother now that he had a new brother AND a new sister. He probably didn’t understand a word I was saying but he sat and listened attentively, for a few minutes anyway until he got bored and went off to play with his toys. Funny little things aren’t they toddlers.
I was more than happy to sit and cuddle the babies. ‘Twins!’ I thought to myself again. ‘What a wonderful surprise’…

‘My how you’ve grown’ I observed as Brionne and Bethany walked through the front door. I hadn’t seen the girls in a while as they always seemed to be at school or out with friends when I visited. ‘I was just talking with your dad about Evalina moving out’.

I wasn’t sure how much they knew and didn’t want to say too much just in case.
Brionne and Bethany were growing into such beautiful young women. Bethany still had her gorgeous long blonde hair and beautiful big brown doe eyes.

‘Try to talk some sense into him please’ Brionne said as she leant over to greet me with a kiss on the cheek.
‘It’s alright girls’ Warrick said. ‘I can see how stubborn I’ve been, I’ll get her back.'

Warrick later went out to buy Evalina an engagement ring. He realized what an idiot he had become since Donna walked out that he couldn’t see the forrest for the trees. Until Evalina had knocked some sense into him. He knew now she was the woman he wanted to be with and would prove it by proposing to her.

The truth was Warrick didn’t want to be alone, he was a family man. But he had built up a wall to protect not only himself but his daughters as well.
It took a long time to see that everything he had ever wanted or needed had been right under his nose all along. Evalina was perfect for him, she was Beautiful, not only on the outside but on the inside also. She was strong in character, a great friend and role model, and a lot of fun to be with, but more importantly, she loved his daughters.
What a fool he’d been to let her leave.

In the Jewelers he picked up an exquisite diamond ring. ‘I think she’d love this’ he said to the sales lady.

‘Wonderful choice’ she replied. ‘3,500 simoloeons, Would that be cash or credit?’
‘Three thousand what!’ Michael stuttered.
Bethany nudged him. ‘Are you putting a price on what she’s worth now Dad?’ she smiled smugly.
‘N-No it’s just , it’s just a lot of money for something so small.’
‘think of it this way’ Brionne sighed. ‘It will last forever and will one day become an heirloom for me and Beth.’
‘Besides, isn’t she worth it?’ added Bethany.

That night Warrick caught a Taxi to the SimSeasons Hotel. He wanted to surprise Evalina.
He waved as his daughters wished him luck.

‘I’m sorry sir’ the concierge said. ‘but she checked out over an hour ago’
A knot tightened in Warrick’s stomach. ‘You don’t know where she went do you?’ he asked anxiously.
‘Yes sir I think I do, she was on her way to the airport, she asked me to call her a taxi’

Warrick felt sick. ‘Why did he wait so long, why did he even let her leave? Damn his pride!’
‘No time for if’s and but’s now’ he thought as he hailed another taxi.’ Gotta go and find her’

‘I need to get to the airport…quickly!’ Warrick said to the driver as he entered the cab.
It was dark now.

As they drove Warrick prayed Evalina’s flight had not left already.

Pulling up outside Simvalley Airport Warrick passed a $20 bill to the driver and began running towards the doors.
‘How would he find her? What if she was already gone’ he panicked.

All these thoughts ran through his mind as he wandered aimlessly through the airport.

Warrick looked everywhere. He didn’t know her flight number, what time the plane was leaving, Nothing!
She wasn’t answering her phone ..He didn't even know where she was going.

Deflated, Warrick sat on a bench outside.
‘That’s it’ he was sadly thinking this was the worst day of his life, when it started to rain.
Warrick didn’t even notice, all he cared about was the women he was in love with had just flown off to, he didn’t even no where!

Warrick couldn’t believe his luck, there was Evalina standing before him.

‘What are you doing here?’ Evalina asked.
Warrick didn’t even reply. He jumped up and grabbed her planting a great big kiss on her mouth, taking Evalina by surprise.

Warrick held Evalina’s hand as he told her what an idiot he’d been and how he realized how much he loved her and would she please forgive him. Warrick wasn’t usually a big talker but he didn’t stop till he he was sure she knew how much she meant to him.
‘Please don’t leave’ he begged before dropping to one knee. ‘I love you Evalina, Will you do me the honour of being my wife.’

Evalina’s heart melted. She didn’t usually show a lot of emotion as she wasn’t your typical girly girl. But this was different. ‘Yes’ she cried jumping into his arms.

I'm sorry if the story is too short, i'm a bit anxious to get it finished as my sims game needs a serious dry clean so as soon as it's finished i will be uninstalling and starting afresh, and my game is just taking so long to load and change camera angles and i want to install pets and didn't want to risk losing sims etc. It's just easier to start all over. Plus it's almost xmas so busy busy...Sorry that was off topic, just want to let the readers know why this will not be a long story.

It’s that time of year again…Holiday Season.
Up until a week ago I was not looking forward to Christmas as I have no family to share it with. But according to Ben I do.
Them.
All of them.
All my wonderful friends seemed to regard me as family. Surrogate mother Jennifer said. Christmas would be at Jennifers house. She had bought yet another dining table to accommodate for Christmas dinner to which everyone was invited, and had moved furniture to make more room.

When I arrived at Jennifers it was snowing. I stood for a minute outside her home to admire the Xmas lights. Jennifer and Ben had decorated the house a few weeks prior and I had not had the chance to see it until now. Ben even climbed on the roof to put up some reindeer decorations. He was very good to Jennifer, as she was to him.

I have never felt so welcome in all my life as I did on Christmas night. There was so much going on, plenty of chatter and laughter. Jennifer was so caught up in the festivities she forgot about the turkey in the oven.

No-one minded of course and everyone thanked her for going to the trouble to cook for 10 people!
Noise filled the room once we were all seated. There were so many conversations going at once I could hardly keep up! I enjoyed it though. I’ve never been lucky enough to see so many people around one table before.

Jeremy and the twins were sleeping in the spare room. They were totally exhausted from the day’s events and fell asleep early. Still, I was amazed they didn’t wake up to all the noise.

After our dinner had settled Jennifer turned the stereo up and began dancing solo. Too much sherry in the pudding perhaps?
It was quite a sight to behold. We all had a good chuckle.

Warrick and Evalina were married soon after Christmas. They had a beautiful afternoon ceremony held in their yard, with gorgeous elven arches, rose petals and fairy lights.

Jennifer and Ben were also very happy in their relationship. They were still taking things slow but I could see they adored eachother.

Michael and Skylah were no longer seeking marriage counseling. They had finally come to understand and respect one another.
With a preschooler and twin babies life was hectic. But with their new found communication skills and plently of love they made it work.

He could now see what he would have missed and although his family had grown from 3 to 5 and it sometimes felt like he was knee deep in dirty nappies he wouldn’t swap it for the world….

I suppose by now some of you may be thinking what a nosy interfering old woman I am but you see, Harold and I could never have children of our own so may years ago I studied nursing and became a midwife.

Each baby I delivered was a small blessing to me. To witness the birth of a child and see a new mother overcome with joy, there was nothing else like it.

I never felt any remorse or sadness, only happiness as many other women were blessed with the ability to conceive and experience what I wasn’t able. Because I was allowed to share it with these women.

Many of them sent cards of thanks to me over the years and photographs of their children as they grew. I always cherished those photo’s.
