*Applications end June 24th*

*This contest will run from June 19th to July 19th*

Models are getting younger and younger each year!

Now, when a model hits 25, she is considered 'Old.' This is preposterous! Old is when you hit 80. Ladies, it's time to come out of retirement, and show those 'kids' what a real model is. Show everyone that ladies over 50 can still rock the runway, as well as all the photo shoots. So gird your loins and apply to become the first 'Lady of Grace.'

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s61/SabiVideos/Graceful/Rules.jpg

1. All contestants must be Female, Human, Elder, and over 50.
2. You must use some form of gray or white hair in all photos, unless otherwise specified in a round.
3. No stealing other people's work! This includes downloading a younger sim and just turning them to 'elder.'
4. You may enter up to two sims, but only one will make it through applications.
5. Photoshopping, or photo editing is allowed, but not necessary to complete any of the tasks.
6. You must state your sim's name and round number in the title of each post, to make it easier on the judges.
7. If you need an extension, please ask no later than 12 hours before the round ends.
8. Be courteous of others, and have fun!

A Word From Your Host

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s61/SabiVideos/Graceful/Host.jpg

"Hi there ladies! I'm your host, Katerina Bell. Welcome to the competition. Some of you may be wondering, what makes you a 'Lady of Grace?' There are many criteria. First of all, you must have aged gracefully. You have kept your glow about you, your love of life, and your willingness to work hard. You will be judged on you ability to understand tasks, your demeanor, the way your beauty has matured, and also on your confessional questions. We are here to show the world that we retired models just don't disappear off the face of the earth when you hit 50. It's time to make a comeback, and I'm sure you all will do a great job of it."

Alright! Show me those applications!

Do our ladies HAVE to be retired? I mean, if the youngest is 50, there are still good 18 years until retirement...

What makes you a 'Lady of Grace: I used to be a model, a top model, when I was in my twenties. Unfortunately when I hit 35 the agencies stop calling and my agent dropped me: not much work for a 35 year old with love handles! I haven't really been trying to get back into the business as I enjoyed free married life for a while. However, I saw this contest and couldn't resist, my husband says I've aged beautifully and I could still model as well as I did when I was 17
Caption for your Free Shot: I've loved being retired as it's given me so much more time to spend with my daughter and grandson.

No, they don't have to be retired I suppose. But with modeling, retirement hits a lot earlier than normal. If you want to enter, but aren't retired, then your free shot could be 'What you have been doing at work.' :)

Do our sim have to have been models before they got old?(A silly question perhaps)

The last round is called 'Your Comeback' and it does have a little to do with how you have progressed as a model from when you were younger, to where you are now. So I would say yes to your sim having to have been a model before they got 'old.' I think it would make it easier for you to answer confessional questions also.

What makes you a 'Lady of Grace’: I’m no less the woman that I used to be. Just because I’ve grown older, doesn’t mean I’m any less fabulous and fun than 40 years ago. I've still got a kick-ass attitude, looks, persaonality and talents like I did back when I was rocking (and modelling too)

Ha Ha retirement? From what? I haven't had to work a day in my life, my husband did the working and now he's the one retired. I do the same thing I have been doing for years... Taking care of my family. I have four kids My adopted son Charlie who has his own child now and is living with his wife, then Danielle who is a teen who now has two of her own children, Emma, then my other adopted son Frank. And now I also take care of two of my grandchildren Renee and Jacob. And then I also take care of the five bedroom
house and the vegtable garden.

What makes you a lady of grace? I've been into charity work since I could remember. I always loved seeing people be happy when they don't have many things. Right now I help at a childrens hospital by reading to them. I really enjoy it. It's so much fun seeing smiles on their faces. It just makes me feel like crying because I can make a difference in somebody's life.

What makes you a 'Lady of Grace': Modeling has been my life since I was a bright-eyed hopeful young lady of fifteen. And I've never given up on it, even after my agent told me I was simply too "old" to walk the runway. Pish-Posh on her! I've never felt more beautiful in my life, and the ability and beauty of a model should not be based on her age. My body may not be in tip-top shape as it was when I was twenty, but my spirit is alive even moreso now, than ever.
Caption for freeshot: After I left modeling (and after raising two beautiful daughters), my husband and I decided to move to Florida and retire there. When he passed on two years ago, I decided I had to keep myself busy. So I took up bartending...and I LOVE it!

What Makes You a Lady of Grace
Oh I lived a lovely life back in the heady days of the 60s'. At the age of 20 I was spotted and by 21 was a household name. By the age of 26 it was over and so were the 60s'. Slipped into the background, married an artist Joe, raised two children Ophelia and Jacob. Yet maintained my connected contacts, but will not name names. So as the children grew up pursued a life of quietly campaigning for human and animal rights. In a nutshell loved, laughed, and used what I had for the sake of tomorrow.

Round One: Re-Married

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s61/SabiVideos/Graceful/RoundOne.jpg

Bridal Magazine has a high demand for models for their newest line of wedding dresses. Getting re-married at 65 in now 'in' and Bridal Magazines are trying to keep up with the trends. Your job is to supply them with some great wedding
shots.

In this round, please include:

One Full Body shot of you in a wedding dress at your 'wedding'

One Full Body shot of you in a wedding dress on a plain, non matching backdrop

One Free wedding shot eg. eating cake, walking down isle... ect.

Confessional Picture: Head Shot of you in a veil

Confessional Question: Express your opinion on weddings in the present. Everything has become so 'un-traditional' with Vegas weddings, and increased divorce rates. What are your views?

If you need any elder wedding dresses, I have a few created by me Here. (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=235570)

Name: Mildred Jones AKA Millie

Age: 72

Location: Washington State (but I travel a lot!)

What makes you a 'Lady of Grace:' The first thing people ask when they find out my age is "When are you going to settle down?" I always tell them "Never!" You're only as old as you feel, you know. I see no reason to stop doing what I love just because I'm officially retired! Official or not, though, I still have a little business as a wedding planner. I never try to hide my age. It's just silly, I think, to worry about looking "young" when you could just be yourself!

I don't really know how you can have an 'un-traditional' wedding personally. Surely the perfect wedding is whatever the bride and groom desires it to be, and if a quickie drive-thru wedding in Vegas is their way of saying "I Love You" then let them do it. Who sets the rules on a traditional wedding anyway? I say as long as the couple love each other then any wedding can be traditional. As for divorces, the only real cure is not to marry until you are sure it's for real; but if five years down the line the marriage isn't working, I have no problems with divorce

Confessional Question:

I believe people should have a traditional wedding you know the ones with all your friends and family all together. I think it helps the mariage get off on the right foot, I mean a mariage such as the kind you can find in Vegas how can you take that wedding seriously and I beileve a foolish wedding leads to a foolish mariage which leads to a divorce.

Confessional Question
Well, I don't want to sound like some old lady who doesn't understand the modern world, but I think it's wrong to give up on the old wedding traditions. Plus, I believe that a wedding should be a religious ceremony, and that the couple should take their vows seriously. It's sad that the divorce rate is so high.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f271/EdieBird/Mildred/MildredVeilHead.jpg

I've tried both, traditional and non-traditional weddings. I don't think it's the wedding that matters, but the marriage you make of it. My first husband and I had the most elaborate wedding; the gown, the silver-plated carriage whisking us off, the flowers spilling from every surface. It looks lovely in the photos, but neither of us were really happy after a few years, and much to my family's chagrin, we were divorced not much later. My second husband though... he was a character! We were married at a quickie chapel in Reno, and were together for the next forty-three years before he lost a long-running battle with his heart. Needless to say I'm all for whatever kind of wedding makes the couple truly happy, as long as they are marrying for the right reasons. As far as divorce goes, well, sometimes you just can't slap any more duct tape onto the relationship to hold it together. At that point, it's best to part ways. Otherwise, somebody gets hurt.

My next wedding is going to be on a yacht, in a swimsuit. Anybody got a problem with that?

- Millie

Express your opinion on weddings in the present. Everything has become so 'un-traditional' with Vegas weddings, and increased divorce rates. What are your views?
I don’t think the wedding itself matters much, but the thought and feelings behind it. If a couple puts a lot of effort into a wedding but they don’t really want to get married, then it’s much more likely to end in a divorce than if a couple that wants to get married has a shotgun wedding in Vegas.
As for divorce, I do think getting a divorce is too easy nowdays, so easy that couples will rather get one than even trying to sort out their problems. On the other hand, getting divorced now isn’t the scandal it used to be so an unhappy couple will rather get divorced than continue to be unhappy, like was so common when I was young.

Express your opinion on weddings in the present. Everything has become so 'un-traditional' with Vegas weddings, and increased divorce rates. What are your views? I think it's absolutely rediculous that people can't stay married anymore. In my day, divorce was unheard of and Vegas weddings? Bah! "Drive-through" wedding chapels make a mockery of everything marriage stands for. Kids in drunken stupors deciding on a whim to get married with an Elvis theme....disgusting. Kenneth (my late husbaned) and I had our problems, as most couples do, but we worked through them and found an everlasting love for one another. These poor children today, what with having only one parent around. It makes me sad. If my dear husband hadn't passed on (bless his soul), I'd still be happily married and we'd have stayed that way until we both passed on. But I know my dear Kenneth would have wanted me to re-marry and be happy. So here's to you Kenneth. There'll always be a place in my heart for you.

Today, Today,
It matters not how you choose to say I love you, so long as you do. Real love is not a trap, the ring like hand cuffs. You true one will set you free, encourage each other to fufil dreams you hold dear. At times it can be hard, but trying to work at it , really is the best. If over time you outgrow each other or sadly who you married turns into something unpleasant, then perhaps it is best to go your seperate ways. In my youth divorce was a dirty word and women were owned by thier men and families. So divorce is hard, sad, but can be for the best. By whom and how it is handled with children, money where the tragedy and drama stems from. Fragile hearts filled with fear is too often at the root of cruel actions, happily carried out by greedy lawyers.
Much of yesterday does seam a better place to be, but I will raise a glass to today and have faith that tomorrow can find a balance.
Cheers

Express your opinion on weddings in the present. Everything has become so 'un-traditional' with Vegas weddings, and increased divorce rates. What are your views? Weddings aren't as important as the person your in love with and gonna spend rest of your life with. I do feel that now a days people seem to rush the wedding not don't even know if there it's love their feeling and this may be why so many of them end up in divorce. Others get to caught up in the fashion of it all and or fall in love with the wedding except the person their marrying. I'm all for True Love and if a Vegas wedding works or if a big price tag wedding works as long as it works.

Round Two: Catalog Style

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s61/SabiVideos/Graceful/RoundTwo.jpg

The Bridal Magazine ads were such a success, people are really starting to get used to the idea that older women are making a comeback, now we are getting requests for a high-end catalog, distributed around the world. The demand is now high for 'preppy' casual clothes, as well as something to wear to a cocktail party. We need an ad for both.

In this round, please include:

One 'Preppy, Casual' look in a fitting environment. Can be 3/4 or full body.

One 'Cocktail Part' look in a fitting environment. Use semi-formal clothes. Nothing too fancy. Can be 3/4 or full body.

Add Prices and designers on your ad. If you do not have the opportunity too, then include it in text in your post.

2. Do you feel you did a better job in this round, compared to the previous one?
Yes I do. It was very difficult to get back into the "model-mode" so my first round was just a practice for me really. I loved this round, especially when they let me keep the pink sunglasses!

All you ladies did such a wonderful job on the first round. Our judges now have the scores and comments for you. Good luck with round two!

Judge One

Allegra Taylorson - 46/60 Overall you gave a great entry with solid pictures.I think you could have been slightly more creative as far as poses are concerned in your freeshot but otherwise keep up the good work.

Janis Colby - 51/60 What a lovely entry, I absolutely adore the colors in the confessional headshot. Janis definitely stands out, keep it up.

Amy Lishman - 47/60 I like the black and white, overall you did a great job.

Muriel Spencer - 40/60 Your entry is solid, however the sizing you used for your images makes them appear somewhat "squished". I was hoping for a bit more thought into your confessional answer but otherwise keep up the good work.

Elizabeth Burness - 53/60 You could have zoomed in quite a bit on Elizabeth's bodyshot, however you have a depth to your pictures that I enjoyed. Great job.

Mae Krosby - 47/60 Good, solid entry. I adore the roses.

Mildred Jones - 54/60 I enjoyed your entry, Mildred has a fiery spirit. It comes across in both your pictures and confessional answer.

Nessa Avery - 56/60 Excellent creativity, especially in the body and freeshot. Keep up the great work.

Judge 2

Allegra Taylorson(stylequeen)
Pictures: 54/60
Comments: She looks so sweet and shy in the second picture! Very nice entry overall.

Janis Colby(Sizza)
Pictures: 48/60
Comments: Ah, nice warm hug in the third picture, very touching. Good entry.

Amy Lishman(tyana)
Pictures: 45/60
Comments: Oh, what a lovely, happy first picture! She looks so happy in all of the pictures, just as a bride should look!

Muriel Spencer(readysetgo88)
Pictures: 54.5/60
Comments: All I have to say is I love the freeshot-- so wonderfully touching, and it says so much! However, you could have elaborated a bit further on your confessional response.

Elizabeth Burness(Hazy)
Pictures: 45.5/60
Comments: The first picture is so dramatic! Your response was nice and flowery, but I don't feel that it really answered the question.

Mae Krosby(mzcynnamon)
Pictures: 49.5/60
Comments: I love all the roses in the third shot! I feel you could have done a bit better, but this was a decent enough entry.

Mildred Jones(EdieBird)
Pictures: 59/60
Comments: All of the pictures were so lovely, and I giggled about the "groom" getting flirty. Your response was wonderful, combining personal experience with opinions, while still answering the question well. Good work!

Nessa Avery(Mnemosyne)
Pictures: 47/60
Comments: I really like the body shot with the flowers! However, the freeshot... well, the bride looks less than cheerful... I didn't really like that. Otherwise, good job.

Judge 3

Allegra Taylorson 52/60
Comments: Your pictures are nice enough, but they don't really pop. They're a little bit grainy as well, but this could be the fault of a bad graphics card. Great work on the background, and I liked your confessional answers.

Janis Colby 55/60
Comments: You seemed to play it safe with your pictures...I thought they could have used a little more work on the background, although your shot on a plain background was very nice.

Amy Lishman 51/60
Comments: Your confessional shot is very sweet, but the rest of your pictures are a little lackluster. The text on two of the pictures is kind of distracting, especially since these are advertising photographs.

Muriel Spencer 52/60
Comments: This is a pet peeve of mine, so I graded you down for it: Your pictures are almost all stretched vertically. I'd suggest resizing with the shift key held down to avoid stretching like that. I really liked your free shot, which was sweet and artistic. On the other hand, it didn't seem like you put much thought into your confessional answer.

Elizabeth Burness 55/60
Comments: I absolutely love your first shot, but your second bothered me a little. There are several plain floors and walls available on MTS2 and elsewhere, and I'd suggest you download a few so that you can avoid the dreaded carpet...your confessional answer was lovely and almost poetic, which earned you points.

Mae Krosby 49/60
Comments: Your sim has the same expression in all of the shots, almost, and it would be nice to see a little more variety. I did like the way that the flower in her hair matched the background in the pictures, that was a nice touch. I'm going to give you the same advice as above: download a plain floor or two from MTS2. It will help in those pictures where a plain background is required.

Mildred Jones 58/60
Comments: I don't really have any tips for you, other than to reduce the empty space a little bit. I really enjoyed your entry, and I liked the confessional answer a lot because it showed spunk. Very nice!

Nessa Avery 56/60
Comments: I thought your entry was also above average, the pose in the second picture is especially nice. Your free shot seemed out of place, however. Your confessional answer was very sweet.

1. Who do you feel is your biggest competition? Why?
Oh, definately Elizabeth Burness. She possesses such a beautiful spirit and has a beautiful face to match. She has aged well and I feel I could never measure up to her. Returning to modeling is hard, and got harder still the moment Elizabeth stepped into the picture.
2. Do you feel you did a better job in this round, compared to the previous one?
Yes, I can say that I feel I did a better job this time round. Making it on the cover of a bridal magazine nearly gave me a heart attack, but I feel that this round really allowed me to show off what I've got and what I can do. I miss walking the runway, but I truly miss being a spokesperson for a particular company. Milsa and Rock Chick's designs were so fun and amazing to model and I think I did them both tremendous justice.
3. What do you feel you could do, to make yourself a stronger competitor?
Well, getting my model mojo back is going to be difficult, but this contest will help strengthen my skills which lie dormant. When I'm not bartending, I spend a considerable amount of time doing yoga. I clear my mind and think only of this contest and I tell myself that no matter the outcome, I know I will grow from this experience. *gasps*! 2nd place! YAY! thank you judges!! And a big congrats to Mildred (ediebird) for getting 1st place on round 1!

As a side note, Nessa's freeshot was a bit off, and I guess without adding a caption for it, it seemed out of place. She was getting hit on one her wedding day, so she told him to back off! lol..anyhow, I guess I should have gone with a better freeshot.

Spiffy I LOVE the magazine cover! Thank you!!!! :anime: And if my cocktail ad is too fancy, It can be changed.

Nessa's Allegra's competition!? Really?! (didn't think anyone one would say that)! :duck:

1. Who do you feel is your biggest competition? Why? I'd have to say Janis Colby. She seems like a very strong-willed, fiesty woman! And, I might add, exactly the kind of person I like to have around as friends.

2. Do you feel you did a better job in this round, compared to the previous one? I hope so! It's been a long time since I've done any work of this kind, so it's taking a while to get back into practice! I just hope I interpreted the instructions right. i think the hardest part was finding sunglasses that suited me...and then realizing that someone else is using the same ones!

3. What do you feel you could do, to make yourself a stronger competitor? I'll just keep doing what I've been doing, being myself. That, as far as I know, is the best way to get ahead in anything! That, and find a new hairstylist. Do you KNOW how hard it is to find someone who can style short, grey hair, without turning it blue and frizzy?

Who do you feel is your biggest competition? Why?
I’ll just say Mildred Jones, simply because she’s pretty and seems to be doing a good job.

Do you feel you did a better job in this round, compared to the previous one?
A bit better, since the last one was more of a warm-up. And now I know what I’m up against to

What do you feel you could do, to make yourself a stronger competitor?
Uh, I dunno. Get a plastic surgery to look like a doll, get thin and get an extreme makeover for my personality? I think that might work, but I’m not gonna do any of that.

1. Who do you feel is your biggest competition? Why?
This is a difficult one. All these ladies have thier own charms to offer.
Lets face it at our age just being here is a bonus. Our lines, lumps
and bumps have been earnt. If pushed then Nessa and it would
have been Amy if she did not have to leave. Yet saying that I adore
Sizzas' attitude, wonderful.
2.Do you feel you did a better job in this round, compared to the
previous one?
Well I try to do my best in all I do. Sometimes the results can be
the photographer. I miss Bailey and Snowdon, sigh. Think perhaps
the new on is getting a better.
3.What do you feel you could do, to make yourself a
stronger competitor?
Again I can, but do my best, with what I have got. I
was considering a hair cut, but worry about going to
short. Maybes I could dust off the yoga mat and work
on my posture....umm thats it. There's a rather nice
new instructor at the local spa, okay only 35, but
more enjoyable than a dvd.

Good Luck Again Ladies!

1. Who do you feel is your biggest competition? Why?
I really hate to pick just one person, everyone has been doing such a great job. It's hard on all of us to get back into the modeling world, so I think it would be nice to support each other rather than getting too competitive. If any of us are successful, that says something for all older models. That being said, I think Elizabeth's pictures are always very beautiful. I could definitely see her winning.

2.Do you feel you did a better job in this round, compared to the
previous one?
Yes, I actually do. I enjoyed the wedding round, but in this round, there's definitely a lot more variety in what we get to model. Last round, I had to stay in the same dress the whole time. You don't get to show off what you can do as much that way. I had a great time making all the different looks come together for this round.

3.What do you feel you could do, to make yourself a
stronger competitor?
I don't know, I guess I just have to keep trying hard and giving it everything I've got. After all, this is my biggest chance to come back to modeling, I really want to make the most of it.

In this round, please include:

Do you feel you are confident? And does posing in skimpies make you uncomfortable?
Oh I felt reasonably comfortable in the altogether :P Nah, models can’t feel self conscious or uncomfortable when posing in their skimpies or they wouldn’t be very good models really would they!? It helped that the photographer was a particularly handsome young man, oh about 45, and my husband wasn’t there to see me flirting!

What do you feel of this contest so far?
This has been so much fun for me. When I was unjustly chucked by my modelling agency I convinced myself that it was for the best; and being “retired” was exactly what I wanted. Of course now all I want to do is model again! I have had such a blast in this contest, and even if I don’t make the final round I have had a great experience that I possibly couldn’t ever have again. Then again, wining would be nice too!

Judge DarkPhoenix

Allegra Taylorson(stylequeen)
Score: 36.5/50
Comments: Nice entry. I have nothing else to add to that, except good work.

Janis Colby(Sizza)
Score: 43.5/50
Comments: Good answer. I like the shots-- very nicely done. The cocktail outfit is very nice.

Muriel Spencer(readysetgo88)
Score: 50/50
Comments: Wow, all I can say is, excellent work! Keep it up!

Elizabeth Burness(Hazy)
Score: 41.5/50
Comments: Wow, I love the confessional shot-- very pretty. Overall, nice work.

Mildred Jones(EdieBird)
Score: 44/50
Comments: The cocktail shot is very nicely done. You've been doing good work-- keep it up!

Nessa Avery(Mnemosyne)
Score: 31/50
Comments: The shots were nice, but you could have put more emphasis on the model than on the background.

Judge Julieth

Allegra Taylorson
Score: 45/50

Comments: Wow, I can really see improvement! Your backgrounds are great as usual, and I really enjoyed your "preppy" shot, it was very professional. Your second picture was a bit stiff, something you might want to watch. Other than that, a very impressive entry!

Janis Colby
Score: 44/50

Comments: I liked your confessional picture and answer...Janis has a fun personality and it's nice to see that come through in her answers. Your pictures are nice, but not extraordinary, although your first picture does have a very nice pose.

Muriel Spencer
Score: 42/50

Comments: Your confessional picture is very cute, and Muriel looks lovely in all the shots. That said, watch the stretching! It's a bit disconcerting. I liked your confessional answer as well, it fit well with her personality.

Elizabeth Burness
Score: 41/50

Comments: I really liked your first picture, it was original and well put together. The idea of putting other sims in the catalog pictures helped your entry to stand out. Unfortunately, the second picture is a bit grainy and blurry, and your confessional picture looks a little odd since the flowers are cutting into Elizabeth's hair.

Mildred Jones
Score: 47/50

Comments: Another lovely entry. I liked the little visa spoof in the catalog text, and your confessional picture is very nice. I think the first picture is a bit grainy, but other than that, excellent job.

Nessa Avery
Score: 45/50

Comments: First off, I really liked your confessional shot and answers. It's obvious that a lot of thought went into both. Your catalog pictures, however, are a little odd...I felt like Nessa wasn't the center of the picture. Maybe tone down the background a little for the next round?

Judge Spiffyriffic

Allegra Taylorson(stylequeen)
Score: 39/50
Comments: I really liked your entry. The casual chic looked great! The only little bit I would have changed would be the environment in your cocktail party shot. I picture something inside, with drinks and friends. Otherwise, very well put together. :)

Janis Colby(Sizza)
Score: 42/50
Comments: I absolutely loooove your confessional shot! Those glasses fit Janis and her personality very well.

Muriel Spencer(readysetgo88)
Score: 43/50
Comments: I really liked the outfit you picked for your catalog. The outfits were just what I was looking for!

Elizabeth Burness(Hazy)
Score: 41/50
Comments: You picked great environments for this round. It shows the outfit in 'action,' not just being modeled. Well done.

Mildred Jones(EdieBird)
Score: 43/50
Comments: I really liked you adding the 'priceless' slogan into your ads. It catches a buyers attention, and makes them remember an ad. Great work.

Nessa Avery(Mnemosyne)
Score: 42/50
Comments: I do agree with the other judges on the aspect that you needed to focus a little more on the model instead of the environment. Nessa just didn't pop properly, but it was still good work. I really loved your confessional shot. :)

Judges Favorites:

Do you feel you are confident?

Yes I feel confident. For my age my looks have done okay and
my health is very good. Worries that plagued me when I was
much younger, like, will some one love me, can I have children,
cope with a baby, pay the bills, or are you really my friend?
Also feeling comfortable about myself and no pressure to impress
anyone. They can like it or bye lets not waste time on rubbish.

And does posing in skimpies make you uncomfortable?

It was fine. So long as things are done and presented with some
taste no problem. Due to having had a few children a full bathing
costume is more fitting, also large underwear. Thankfully it is
trendy again, could never understand these thongs.....

What do you feel of this contest so far?

It is a great contest to be part of as showcasing ladies of a
cetain age are far from past it. We can be elegant, sexy, fun
with a life time of experiences and
also stories, so never boring.

Do you feel you are confident? I've survived wars, disasters, and the loss of my son and husband in the same year. I've performed in musicals, taught my daughter to dance the tango, and jumped out of airplanes for fun. I've modeled, retired, and found a new career as a wedding planner. All these things have taught me one lesson: I can do ANYTHING! Does that answer the question?

Does posing in skimpies make you uncomfortable? No, should it? Personally I think I look pretty dang good. My youngest granddaughter, Kit, acted like she was going to gag when she heard that "Good ol' Gran" was going to be posing in underwear, though, so I let her talk me out of the lace push-up bra and thong with a garter belt. However the bikini stayed in the lineup!

What do you feel of this contest so far? I haven't had this much fun in a while! Not since my skydiving partner broke her hip, anyway. It's been a blast, trying out some new clothes! And, I found a new stylist as a result, and I've been looking for a while!

Do you feel you are confident? And does posing in skimpies make you uncomfortable? I am more confident now than I was in my late teens and early twenties. I love my body and anyone that doesn't simply has no idea of what beauty is. I'm in good shape so i have no reason to ever feel uncomfortable. My husband was at the photoshoot and encouraged me with romantic words. I didn't need the encouragement, but I let him have his moment. I don't need a modeling agency to tell me I'm beautiful; I know that I am!

What do you feel of this contest so far? I've been having the absolute best time reliving my days of modeling. Retirement was growing rather dull. Don't get me wrong, I love tending bar, but I suppose I needed at least one more modeling experience before calling it quits for good. This contest has given me the motivation to stay in shape and enjoy the life ahead of me. I am also glad everyone from the contest was there to see my wedding!

I don’t feel as good posing in “skimpies” like you call them as in “un-skimpies”. I’ve never liked to be almost naked while I’m being taken pictures of. I’d rather be dressed in a funky outfit anytime. And I’ve never been what other people think is sexy and I’ve never really thought about it.
What do you feel of this contest so far?
I think I’ve done a good job, at least as good as someone who hasn’t done modelling in some 40 years and wasn’t interested in it back then.

You know something? It's much easier to be confident in my body now that I'm older. Models in their 20s have it rougher than you realize, there is a constant pressure to stay incredibly thin. When you get to be my age, that pressure is off, and I'm able to feel good about my body, however it looks. I definitely didn't feel uncomfortable posing for this shoot. I hope women my age everywhere see my photos and realize that they too can be sexy just by being happy with themselves.

What do you feel of this contest so far?
I've really enjoyed it. What a great idea to have a modeling contest for elders! The rounds have been really creative as well. It's too bad we didn't get more contestants.

Ok ladies, round three is now closed, due to the fact that everyone got their entry in. I have pmed the judges. Being that we had an unfortunate dropout, the rest of you are safe from elimination. Good luck all!

Judge DarkPhoenix

Allegra Taylorson(stylequeen)
Score: 33/50
Comments: Nice pictures, but not very exciting.

Janis Colby(Sizza)
Score: 39/50
Comments: The lingerie shot was nice. The eyeshadow in the headshot was very interesting and colorful.

Muriel Spencer(readysetgo88)
Score: 50/50
Comments: All I can say is, this was an incredible entry. All of the shots were so wonderfully done, especially the lingerie shot. You have done a great job!

Mildred Jones(EdieBird)
Score: 47.5/50
Comments: Your response to the confessional made me laugh-- what wonderful, humorous responses! The pictures were very nice, and I felt the lingerie shot was especially well-done. The presence of mirrors in all the shots was a nice touch.

Nessa Avery(Mnemosyne)
Score: 49.5/50
Comments: All of the pictures were very nicely done, and the choices of clothing coordinated well with the backgrounds. Good work!

Judge Julieth

Allegra Taylorson
Score: 43/50
Comments: This was an interesting entry...you chose not to do backgrounds for your shots, which I think is a shame since backgrounds are really a strong point of yours. Your pictures were good overall, but Allegra's expression in the second picture looks a little...odd. However, your confessional answers made me laugh a little, and they were pretty good.

Janis Colby
Score: 46/50
Comments: Have I mentioned how much I like Janis? You've got some very good confessional answers, and I like her pictures a lot. Unfortunately your confessional shot isn't really "sexy" as such. Overall, a good solid entry.

Muriel Spencer
Score: 44/50
Comments: Hmm. Muriel still looks out of proportion somehow, but in spite of that, your pictures are really great this round. I especially like the first picture-the dark edges provide a very intimate mood. And your confessional shot is sexy in a very casual way, which is hard to pull off. Your confessional answers could do with a bit more refining, but good job!

Mildred Jones
Score: 47/50
Comments: As usual, your pictures are great, although the reflection in the back was a bit disconcerting. Mildred's poses were great, very sexy indeed! Her confessional answers were also at your usual high level.

Nessa Avery
Score: 44/50
Comments: I really liked your second picture! Very cute and natural looking. Your first pic is good too, but looks a little too balanced and centered...but I also really liked your confessional shot. Your confessional answers were a bit run-of-the mill, but your pictures made up for it.

Judge Spiffyriffic

Allegra Taylorson(stylequeen)
Score: 42/50
Comments: I really like the poses you chose for portraying 'sexy.' The only thing I would have changed would be adding a background. Other than that, two thumbs up!

Janis Colby(Sizza)
Score: 41/50
Comments: I really loved your swimsuit shot. It was simplistic, yet beautiful. I am a sucker for a beautiful yet simplistic look. You also showed that a colorful look and attitude is sexy too. :)

Muriel Spencer(readysetgo88)
Score: 48/50
Comments: I really liked the lighting effects in the first picture. I does ad a certain atmosphere to the shot. The only flaw I would say was that her head looks a little big in the first picture, but I also loved you sexy closeup. Thumbs up from me!

Mildred Jones(EdieBird)
Score: 46/50
Comments: I really liked how you vamped up Mildred's normally sweet look with some strong eyeliner. Sexxxy! :)

Nessa Avery(Mnemosyne)
Score: 47/50
Comments: I really loved your settings. The room for the lingerie shot was really nice, and the background for your closeup made the shot look really intimate. Nice work!

Round Four: Your Comeback

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s61/SabiVideos/Graceful/RoundFour.jpg

This is it! The final five! You all have worked so hard to make it this far, and I'm so proud of all of you. Now it's time to announce to the world that you are here and stronger than ever. This is the final round ladies, give it all you've got!

In this round, please include:
One Shot of you in a formal dress on a plain, non matching background. Look confident and glamorous, the look of a winner.
One shot of you in a formal dress(it doesn't have to be the same one) walking down the red carpet to the premiere of the Lady of Grace Movie.
A headshot of you in a tiara or crown. Make sure you look good.
Confessional Questions: What makes YOU the winner over everyone else? Yes, you have to say why YOU should win, not someone else.
Now that you've made your comeback, what will you be doing with your life?

Round Four Ends July 16th at Midnight!

What makes YOU the winner over everyone else?
Because I'm fah-bulous! No, really because I'm dedicated, hard-working and I want this so badly. My career was over so abruptly and this has given me back my youth. I feel beautiful again and now have the confidence to go out in my "skimpies" any day of the week!

Now that you've made your comeback, what will you be doing with your life?
Well the plan was just for me to go back to my retirement and my normal life, but actually I've been offered a part (a small part) in a Hollywood movie! I couldn't believe it when I was approached but the answer was definately yes yes yes! Playing Julia Roberts mother - what a role!

Confessional:
What makes YOU the winner over everyone else?
Nothing would give me greater joy than to know that all of my hard work has paid off and that I've still got what it takes to blow these younger, walking coat hangers they call models now-a-days, out of the water. I believe I should win and be "crowned" Lady of Grace because I represent every retired model out there that wishes they could walk the runway again and I assure you...I am THE Lady of Grace.

Now that you've made your comeback, what will you be doing with your life? I've had so much fun participating in this contest and although I've been contacted by a modeling agency about signing a contract, I believe I'll have to pass on that and go back to my life before the contest. Don't get me wrong, I apprectiate everything the host has done to help us retired models out, but I don't think my body can handle much more of this. I have a husband now and I'd like to kick back and enjoy our relationship without the pressures of modeling. I told my husband I'd tear up the contract and never look back, but between you and me....it's in my undies drawer..just beneath my portfolio. ;)

What makes YOU the winner over everyone else?
First of all, I have to say that everyone in this competition has done an amazing job. We are all an inspiration to older women everywhere.... that older women CAN still be sexy, and CAN still look good and have a career. But why should I win? Well, I can only say that I feel I have given this contest everything that I have, and it's paid off. I love the way my photos have turned out every round. I'm spirited and spunky, and I'm even still sexy. I can only hope my confidence shines through.

Now that you've made your comeback, what will you be doing with your life?
I would love to continue doing some modeling, however I don't want to work as hard as I did when I was younger. I want to have plenty of time to spend with my family. I have 3 children and 7 grandkids, and I so adore watching them grow. And there is one thing especially that I love to do... one of my granddaughters is interested in modeling, I'm thoroughly enjoying sharing my advice with her.

What makes YOU the winner over everyone else?
I do what I want, say what I want and act like I want even though I’ve become an elder. I represent people who won’t stop doing what they want because it’s not the norm or they’ve become “too old” for it.
I think I‘m an inspiration to many people, especially older ones, who’re afraid of doing what they want because the society tells them that they’re to old for it and should do what is expected of them

Now that you've made your comeback, what will you be doing with your life?
Good question. I don’t really know. Modelling is nice but I don’t want to turn it into a job. I’m thinking of become a professional guitar-player, or opening a bar. I might try to do some acting, who knows? All I know is, I’m going to do something fun.

What makes YOU the winner over everyone else?
Well, it would be a lovely seventy-third birthday present! Hehe...
All joking aside, I believe that I can show the world that being over 50 doesn't mean you have to stop living the life you want to live, and doing it with style!

Now that you've made your comeback, what will you be doing with your life? Who knows. I go where the wind takes me. If it takes me back into full time modelling, great. I always did love the flash of the camera and the hustle and bustle of fashion shows. But, I think I'm more likely to keep doing wedding planning, leaves me more time to spend with my newborn great-grandson!
