OK, so I was getting curious as to whether MS had a version of DX10 for my XP 32 bit system, or if anybody in the PC world had tried this before. Well it seems that alot of people out there have tried it before, after google(ing) this question I had asked myself, (internally of course), I came across a couple of articles pertaining to this.
http://www.techmixer.com/download-directx-10-for-windows-xp
http://www.btarena.org/news/directx-10-for-xp
The first link was the best article I found on the web, (so far), whereas the second is the file I downloaded and installed.
Well my rig is up and running just fine, I never benchmarked it before so I don't really know if it did much if anything at all. I ran DXDIAG after a reboot, and sure enough it shows that I'm running DX10. So I proceeded to run TS2 and cranked up the video settings and although my processor became my new bottleneck, TS2 ran in all it's glory with everything set to high at 1280x1024.
If you try this remember, you need a DX10 capable video card, anything below a 8xxx series will not work. ATI and onboard graphic chipset, I have no idea about, I'm running a XFX 8600 GT with a flashed bios to a GTS.
If you choose to do this, I in no way shape or form take responsibilitiy for your rig, spouse, or pet bursting into flames.
If it breaks your machine than just remove these 6 files
D3D10.dll
D3Dx10_33.dll
D3Dx10d_33.dll
D3Dx10.dll
D3Dx10d.dll
Dxgi.dll
then reinstall DX9C.
Good luck and may the fork be with you...

TS2 is a Directx 9 game. It will not make any use what so ever out of directx 10.

Additionally, there will be zero performance advantages between directx10 and 9.. the only difference will be some rendering differences.

Microsoft neither supports nor has any intention to even make Directx10 for XP, . The link you have given is to a totally unaffiliated person deciding to code Directx10 for XP. I would be very careful about installing something like that.. and again unless you actually play directx10 games (TS2 not being one of them) there is no point.
