I must have missed it!!! Guys, what did you think of it? We're probably going to see it tomorrow...!

I saw it on Wednesday :D :)
It's good, but not that good if you've read the book.
I was a bit disappointed TBH
I can't really review it, because i would spoil it for people who haven't read the book

Do you guys think excitement for this is dying? I don't see the big build up for it like with the other movies...

I saw it the day it came out and was disapointed in it. It started of quite good but went down hill from there.
Now im a massive hp fan, not that big a fan that i dressed up or waited for the midnight releases. I thought that it would have had a climatic ending as such there was now. Now im not going to say what i was dissapointed in as it will hav alot of spoilers, but i hope that they had a good reason too, and from what was missing i hope it doesnt affect the next two movies.

I haven't seen it yet and I'm a rabid fan of the books and the movies. But I have to say the books/movies keep getting darker and darker and Half Blood Prince just started to get way too dark to be as enjoyable. So I guess I'll get the CD but probably won't go to the movies. It's kind of sad...it didn't really have a huge opening weekend like the former movies did. But I do love everything about the movies, the music, the CGI, the costumes and creatures, the atmosphere...but with the characters dying off in the last book/movie, I was kind of disappointed. I guess it's realistic that some people had to die, but Sirius??? Seriously?? haha....
Any other thoughts?

I loved the book, I've read it at least 5 times, which is probably why I was so disappointed in the movie. In the previous HP movies, they'd managed to cover what seemed like almost everything in the books. In this one, it jumped around so much and changed so much of the book that at some points I didn't really even know what was going on. And I personally thought the ending was horrible. The scene in the cave was pretty good, but from there it went downhill fast. I was so angry that the death eaters just "left" and there was no battle at all, and at the end there wasn't even a scene of Person-Who-Dies's funeral. So, if you haven't read the book, I'm guessing the movie would have been good, but when you've read the book, the movie was a bit - crappy, really.

I know a lot of dedicated fans are disappointed in the films in general, and I am an absolutely dedicated fan of Harry Potter..BUT I love the WB version, it is not supposed to be a film version, merely based on the story..which it is.
Yes, it simplifies the story to almost ridiculous extent, but I feel in this film it seemed more like they were immersed in a magical world.
Storyline aside, it was funny, sweet and sad! I LOVED that they put the Hermione and the bird charm bit in there (without giving too much away) I feel that they deal with complex storylines very resourcefully.
I would love that they did the films exactly like the books but they can't! Because of the nature of books, my imagination has made up half the way the story should be, and nothing anyone else could make would measure up, because it is in MY head, after all..I remember the first time looking at Daniel Radcliff and thinking "that's not Harry, he's too this, he's not enough that" but there is no Harry! he exists in my mind only!!
Harry Potter is something that is inside of us, the films are earthly representations, try to think of the similarities and not the differences! :D

Having read the book repeatedly, I was overall satisfied with the movie, but there were some parts where I just wanted to yell at the screen because they would change or just completely omit some of my favorite scenes and passages of the book, especially the ending. I just wish they could have left some things alone, but fortunately there were parts I absolutely loved in the movie because they were so similar to how I imagined it to be.

I was really disappointed with the latest film, so much was left out that it didn't make any sense and nothing happened! Nothing about Voldemort's past which is pretty vital in knowing his weaknesses, why he is the way he is, and how he can be defeated. No big fight scene at the end between the Death Eaters and the DA & OOTP. Nothing about Bill and Fleur. No funeral for Dumbledore. Completely omitted Harry breaking up with Ginny. Added stupid bits in there that added nothing to the story. It didn't explain what Voldemort would have used as his Horcruxes and why, therefore you're left thinking that they could be anything (which us readers will know they're not). Everything was made REALLY obvious, like Malfoy being a Death Eater and who RAB is. It's not going to do JK's storytelling and planning any justice, because the last two films are going to have to be so crammed with information missing from the previous films in order for the whole thing to make sense that everything is going to seem like an afterthought.
The whole film was basically about teen angst and the love relationships between Ron and Hermione, and Harry and Ginny. If that is what I wanted to see I would have watched Twilight again (which I thought was awful).
It was such a shame because the parts that were in there from the book were really good, I thought the part when Harry and Dumbledore went looking for the Horcrux right at the end was really well done (although, again, left out any reference to Voldemort's weaknesses), and the kid that played young Tom Riddle was just amazing. It could have been so much better than it was, I just really, really hope that the last two are better than this.

Ive sawn it, I LOVED IT!!! But the ending
* spoiller ------>* Has ended that they didnt found the real Hocruxe, but it says there will be a last one after HBP.

@Spyrohugs: Actually there will be 2 more movies if thats what you mean by "a last one after HPB". They are going to split the last book in half since it is so information-packed.

I saw it, was dissapointed although I like the new Tom Riddle he is more fitting than the one they had in Chaber of Secrets. I think they focused too much on the lovey-bits and ignored the gloomier yet more relavant action bits.
Spoiler: When Ginney tied Harry's shoelace was I the only one who cringed? Because I still don't see what the point of that was, he wasn't holding anything or injured he could'ev tied his own damn shoelaces.

The book was brilliant, so I didn't expect much from the movie, yet somehow it still managed to disappoint me. They left out a lot of crucial scenes and replaced them with mushy nonsense, like Ginny and Harry chasing Bellatrix around, and the others watching their home burn down without saying a word. That couple of minutes could have been used to include Dumbledore's funeral. That marble crypt is gonna appear out of nowhere in DH?
Also, what's up Bonnie Wright? You're not made of wax, are you?
I could go on rambling, but it would get too spoilery. Let's say it's an enjoyable movie if you don't compare it with the book or the other films.

I love Harry Potter! Its one of my favorite book series, and I did enjoy the latest movie. I found HBP movie, better then OotP. But I agree with you minus. that they did leave out crucial scenes.
HaphazardSim- I cringed when that scene took place. It was really random and kinda weird. I guess it was her way of letting him know she liked him???
