I created this house for the story I have underway and have had a couple people ask about it, so I thought I would put it up here and see what everyone thought before I tried uploading it.

I will get a bird's eye in just a sec to show...here's some others I found.

The house sits at an angle towards the road with the garage closest. Behind the big willows, there's a greenhouse.

The tv/living room off the right side of the stairs. Glass doors lead out to the pool and rec area.

Thanks! I will try and find something a little greener. I just honestly don't like the bright green grass that maxis makes. It looks too fake to me.

As far as the rooms go, I tried to make everything have a purpose, rather than just add on sprawling rooms to make a massive house.

The house was based on the following house and floor plans, but I rearranged it quite a bit to my own liking as far as inside layout.

Dirt at the base of the ladder, slide, swings, stairs, basketball court and plants please, makes it look SO much better

Try not to take the terrain paint corner to corner - Fade around the edges a bit ;)

I see two different external wall colors, I think it would look better with one to be honest

And I will leave you with that for now :D Looks awesome

^^Agreed. I think you should fence off the play gym, with one of those really low fences, the ones that you can walk over, and fill it in with wood chips. And perhaps a sand terrain paint under the swings.

There are some great terrain paints here:

And for wood chips, here:

NO - Please do -not- use custom terrain paint on the lot. They mess up houses REALLY badly and are almost impossible to safely remove from your game. If you REALLY want to, go for it, but it is advisable to CLEARLY state that you used custom terrain paint. :)

Are you meaning the top and bottom or the part that's by the garage? There are 2 different ones for the top and 2nd story, but the pinkish color by the garage is because of the radiance lighting.

Can we have more pictures like this one?

Right now most of your pictures are pretty, but not very helpful in seeing the overall lot.

Here are some more pictures from the raised view as requested. I believe I made most of the changes that had been suggested. What does everyone think now? I'll post some more inside pictures and can work on that once the oustide is done.

It all looks very nice! The only problem with it I have is the area of the roof with all the roof pieces lines up. There are seveal roof parts right next to each other over a diagonal wall. Any chance of fixing that?

Wow, you've done a really nice job with this house. Just a couple of recommendations:

If it doesn't look too weird, I'd suggest you raise the pitch of some of the bigger roofs, because they just look unrealistically flat, to me anyway. Especially on the front-most wing on the left in your last posted picture, where a taller roof would break up that dead wall space.

Also, keep the outdoor sconces, but perhaps delete a few of them, because they are slightly overwhelming.

Well, it looks like you've got a pretty good handle on this one, so I'll leave the rest to you. Would love to download this one =]
