Skintones N.I. UPLOADED

Ok so this is the first attempt to do ..well normal looking skintones and I am pretty nervous. I am using the reworked base from my sparkling flesh tones. My main concern is getting the colors hues/saturation to look more natural. These first images are only of my pale set. I want to get an okay on the texture (and color) before I move on to the next skin color. The Images below are only for feedback, constructive criticism is welcome on ...well everything. Any feedback you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so I thought it would be a good idea to get a few more shades out there to get feedback on. So here are the first three shades of the set...Pale, Medium Pale, and Tan. These pictures do have some more light on them than the first two. None of these models have any make-up on or eyelashes except for brows. Opinions?

Lookin` good, but I still have issues with the marks where the groin creases meet the hip bones, like I mentioned on your colored SnS skins.

Interesting censoring. I take it that the leaves are clothing; did you make them yourself? Of course they mean I cannot critique the most important parts. ;)

Will these be geneticized? Will they be "Barbie"?

They look really lovely on the models! How many shades in the set?

A tiny bit shiny on the cheekbones, shoulder blades, and chest--was that by design? Also, if I may ask: how do they look passed on to children who don't have the beautiful bone structure of your models? :)

Hmmm I think I just suck with the hip parts lol...I will mess around so more. And yeah I made the leaf clothing ...I thought it was time to try a different sort of censoring. Since I was going for more natural skin I thought I would to the leaf thing...do they look crappy? lol. Right now they aren't barbie or anything...But I can still make them barbie...I don't know what most prefer.

I can try and tone down the shininess... it was partial design but the sun in the game adds quite a bit more also to the effect. That.s a good point about the bone structure thing I will upload some maxis sims examples in a moment here.

Personally, I want NON-Barbie whenever practical. "Barbie" skins look really, really strange with the censor blur removed. ;) I`d also prefer geneticized, if you can manage that.

As for the leaf clothing, if you can`t get it approved as a regular upload on its own, I`d love it if you could attach it to your skin upload as an "extra". It`d be interesting for Nature Sims and/or PlantSims, especially Nature PlantSims.

***WHEN*** these get approved, would you please link to the download thread here, and leave the feedback thread up a few days before deleting it [if you even delete it at all], so I can find the download thread? Else I might not even know that they`re up. :(

I will look into the geneticized thing, and yeah I like the half barbie thing myself ...but I have heard people on both sides...and have no idea who outnumbers who. I personally think it doesn't hurt to have the nips available as long as they can be covered up by clothing...which they can. I will definitely post the link for you guys on here, and I am glad to here you are ok with the leaves I was planning to attach the download for them with my skins...its kinda like the alien eyes...I like to include what I make for the images as long as I made them. That way they are of more use then just my photos. Thanks again. I am going to go get the generic maxis pics I took and upload them. :P

Nope; don`t *need* any other examples, but I`d *like* to see how those hip-marks look currently, if you don`t mind. Preferably comparison shots, so *you* can see how they compare to EA hips. I *love* the rest of your skins [except for the seam issues you used to have], but I like the EA hips better than yours. Personal opinion, ya know. ;)

Also, just curious about how "Barbie" they are below the waist. I`d prefer NON-, myself, but if you did, they wouldn`t get approved, now would they? :D .

Don`t worry; I almost never breed male Sims, except by accident. ;) I almost always try to save just before the birth so I can exit-without-saving-and-reload if a *boy* is born. Even so, my neighborhood has more guys than gals, *and* I have a beautiful green boy in your old SnS skin.

I also have a "race" of non-Aliens wearing the Alien skin, thanks to a hidden-skin unlocker I downloaded [for all "creature" skins], and I recently got my first PlantSim. No, he wasn`t spraying *trees*, he was spraying the family *garden*. I didn`t know it *could* happen that way. I`ve been occasionally creating one-each female Sims in various non-genetic custom skins to be the "founding mother" of said race. I don`t *need* to do that with geneticized skins; I`ve also had a Sim born with one of HP`s AC skins. ;) Babble, babble, fish, fish, fish. You don`t happen to know of any threads here offering non-Barbie maxis-match default-replacement skins, do you?

Raps I do believe you are correct. Any NON-Barbie skins must be off-sited however with a link IN the barbie skin's own page. I have seen a few people do that.

Thanks for posting the pictures of Maxis Sims and the spectrum of shades you made. I bet these would do absolute wonders for some of the less "facially-gifted" townies. :lol:

These are really really nice, but it seems to me that the two lightest shades aren't as natural looking as the rest. Perhaps it's the lighting, but I'm specifically referring to the Sim in the first and second pictures of your post #9. Also, I've just noticed from the side-by-side Maxis Sim pictures that you've emphasized the clavicle quite a bit, at least on the women. At least in my eyes, (and again, I'm not sure if this was by design) it seems that it's a bit too prominent for realism. But like I said, these are lovely--especially the darker shades you posted :)

That is a good point...I agree the more I look that the really shiny parts like the clavicles and shoulders and other ares need to bee toned down...I guess I got to used to doing skins that were supposed to be shiny... I will work on it. ...and yeah the lighting thing bothers me...they looks so different depending on the lighting and I am finding it difficult to determine which way to go (what time of day that is) it either seems to much or too little. I realize the palest shade is the most seemingly unnatural looking one ...I think partially because of how pale... But I have it regarless because I like really pale skins. Anyways thank you

Just use the Weather Control aspiration reward to force ideal weather.

If you don`t want to fulfil Sim wants just to take a picture, a pair of cheats will do the trick: One to grant aspiration points with which to purchace the object, and another to grant Platinum mood to operate it. Need details?

Alternatively, use Numenor`s AnyGameStarter to create a Seasonsless PermaGame for your photo-shoots.

But that could be because I've had to draw nude people in classes before...and when you have to observe and draw everything...you can't have much shame. It's too low and it comes in too close IMO ;) It should be located a tad bellow the end of the neck and be in-line with the breasts.

I do agree that they are too close...I don't know about the low part though...the males could be raised some but on anatomy I don't think the highest part (where the flare up some) shouldn't be any higher than the shoulders.(I know the have quite long necks) Thanks for pointing the rest out though I will work on them :)

Yes, that is amongs the human foibles I understandeth not, that male nipples are OK to show, and all of the REST of a woman`s breast is fair game [but only under appropriate circumstances, and never ever all at once, strange], but female nipples are "ZOMG noes! Nipples! Quick, COVER THEM UP!" [Censored] [bleep], but that is rediculous[sp?].

Trying to keep this at least marginaly on-topic, I too am glad that MTS does not insist on that [IMHO stupid] restriction. How are your skins comming along? Would anyone be offended if you posted a REAL CLOSE close-up of the nipples [just the nipples themselves, with very little breast visible around them] for constructive criticizm? Else perhaps you could PM me a link to a copy of the image on another server? If not, no problem; your SnS nipples appear to have been competantly done. ;)

Ok so I think I am just going to go with the colors I have now...at least until their uploaded but I think I might through a few in afterwords. For instance I want a darker one as well..but to simplify things a bit form me I am going to stick with these 5 shades for the original upload. That way these will be up quicker.

As you probably know by now, astiees, I`ve seen the sample preview of the "unmentionable" nipple, and it looks at least as competantly done as your SnS nipples.

The skins look really good but the tan version seems a little too red to me.

Ok guys I went through all the skins and all backs are fixed now. @LikeWeeds I reduced the redness in the tan skins. More so on males... but on same on both sexes faces and I realized that when I save them its been converting to a slightly pinker shade. One reason for this is when saved as the proper file type and size of file that the skins work best for in the game it has to reduce the number of colors use to get the size right. Therefore, it has to change some. I am afraid to change the color enough...it might be too much. O.o
