i like the inside modern and simple, but try adding more plants and trees, or maybe add a pond outside

I think it needs just a touch more lanscaping. I dont like your choice of fencing for the balcony either :\
Its an interesting shape though :tmb:

Part of it might be the bland wallpaper, but right now this house lacks any real style or form. I like that you've done with the garage and the overhang over the entrance, but the rest seems to be a bit so-so. I think what you really need to do first is pick one style and 2 or 3 main colors to use in your design to give it a more colorful look. (While colorful doesn't mean bright reds and lime greens, there should be a theme beyond whatever comes to mind.) Overall, you have a creative start! The idea just needs refining.

Yeah, replace the siding, or put a more colourful one on.
As for the inside, it needs a lot of work. The rooms are tiny on the bottom floor, the only bathroom has no sink, and probably should be tile instead of wood, and maybe rearrange the furniture in the bedrooms.

i also think that the sliding door makes a terrible front door on any kind of house. :P

Just a tad more landscaping and it's perfect!

Lots - Architecture
When creating the architecture of your lot, please strive to create a unique overall look with an interesting layout. It's very easy to create a boxy lot with poor aesthetics in Sims 2 - and it can take a lot of practice, work, and effort to create a unique lot that not just anyone could build.
Try looking at real lots and houses in the style you want to create. You can get great inspiration on unique and realistic architecture by looking up real life building plans, or searching for images on Google Image Search.
See: Building Great Realistic Houses - From the Ground Up .
See the Build Mode Tutorials for new techniques, cheats, and tricks which can help in your building efforts.

Other reasons (these may be clarifications of above points, or additional reasons)
From the front of the house the point of the door looks odd intersecting the window like that. It really needs better architecture, and maybe try cropping the red pause lines from the pics? Not TOO much though.

How about making the top floor slightly smaller than the bottom floor. Then get rid of the roof over the garage and put a balcony there.
