This is Demetrios Rodos, a 24 year old architect from Caliview Valley. Demetrios was born on a small Greek island, but once he had his heart set on being an architect, he needed to move to a place where there were better building oppurtunities.

Demetrios has a good living, but is finding it difficult to get his buildings off the ground. Putting his architectural dreams on hold, he wants to tip his toe in his other pool of interest, modelling and acting. Ever since he was little Demetrios has secretly wanted to act and model, but traditional parents shunned this idea. He is hoping now is the perfect time to make it big... building buildings can wait!

Alright! You already looked at my application pictures. You like? Now that you have seen me I think you should get to know me. My name is Luke Ster, this kind of became my Nickname 'Lukester', I think that was in my parents attention when they named me. I am 22 but turning 23 in a couple of weeks, and I am single. I was born in Columbus, Ohio but now decided to live in L.A. I am a pretty outgoing person and need social contacts 24/7 L.A provides that for me.

I am a cooking freak, I love to serve yummy meals to my friends and family. I am now studying nutrition science, it is pretty exciting.

Modeling - I never did that - well sometimes I pose for my Mom but that's about it. But I thought if people really want to see my face on pictures - fine with me. I am a happy lad and I am never afraid to try new things so I hope its going to be fun and I meet some cool people - and when you are nice you might be invited for a surprise dinner.

Like fresh prepared sandwiches  - here the evidence:

Top o' the mornin' to ye. I'm Avaleigh O'Hara of the Galway O'Hara's, daughter o' Gerald and Maeve, and Ireland's premiere actress and model.

... Okay, maybe that's not entirely true. It's just that “secretary/temp” doesn't sound all that appealin', now does it? You see, this is my plight. I have plans, *big* plans of fame and stardom and notoriety. That's why I came to America! Didn't make it as far as Los Angeles I'm afraid, as most aspiring actresses do, but I suppose my current home in downtown Simberry Fields is going to have to suffice fer now!

I'm rather inexperienced where anything havin' to do with work is concerned – I've done a lot of job changing in my twenty-three years on this ruddy earth, but I've finally found me niche! Acting and modeling! Now, my family back in the old country doesn't exactly approve of my new choice of careers – somethin' about job security, or some such malarky!- but I'm thrilled to start a new life as an actress and model extraordinaire!

Now on to more personal things, eah? I'm currently single, and reside alone in a small (nay, tiny!) apartment downtown. I spend the majority of my free time reading, cooking and catching up on my t.v shows (see below). I also love to do stand-up comedy at the local pub, and have been known to do karaoke... but only when completely plastered!

My goal for this contest is to get myself out there, and hopefully, this will be the beginning of a long and illustrious career!

Name: Bailey Loftner
Age: 22
Place of Birth/Current Residence: I was born in Pleasantview and currently reside in Belladonna Cove.
Overview:
Well....lets see...you want to know about me. Where do I start? Hmm...ok...high school...I spent all four years of high school playing basketball. When I graduated I was recruited by Sim State University to play on their college team. While in college I majored in Philosophy. Since graduating, I took an apartment in Belladonna Cove and I am currently still looking for my big break in the employment scene. I am living off the trust fund that my granddad left for me - but that won't last too long. I am hoping to find a job in athletics or, if this pans out, in modeling.

My interests include sports and athletics (of course), restoring old cars, and cooking. I am currently single and I am not looking for a fling. I want to someday settle down and have my dream family - a wife and two kids. Until then, I plan to just hang out and have fun with my friends.

TRIriana

It'll be good to have you Simmella. :) You can either position your Sim in front of a blank wallpaper with the moveObjects on cheat, or edit them out of an in-game picture using an editing program like Photoshop or GIMP, and paste them onto a blank white or black JPG or GIF document.

TRIriana
31st Oct 2009, 08:04 PM
Of course. You wouldn't be docked any points for not having the beach from the expansion pack. As long as your scene looks like a beach, it's cool. :).

IntrepidLlama
31st Oct 2009, 08:41 PM
If I may, monstersteph, there are a bunch of very nice beachy ground covers at both Mod and Parsimonious (http://parsimonious.org/wallandfloor2/ground/1.shtml). They can help give the appeareance of a beach when there is none. ;)

wndy26
31st Oct 2009, 09:59 PM
And, if you choose a lot that is on the edge of the water your shots can still look almost like a real beach, with a water to sky background even if you don't actually get to utilize the water's true edge.

My name is Kaori Sasaki and I'm 21 years old. I was born in a little town in Japan, pretty close to Tokyo. My father grew up there, and met my mother while she was on vacation with her friends. I'm the oldest of my four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. We moved to America when I was 16, and soon along then, my parents died. I grew up taking care of myself, and my siblings.

During my teenage years, I met and fell in love with a boy named Anthony. I ended up getting pregnant and having twins, both girls. I was shocked, not knowing how it happened, but I love my two girls and I will never regret having them. I've never modeled or acted before, but I need to start a career in order to maintain the health of my siblings and daughters. I feel as though modeling would be a job that I could achieve while still caring for the kids.

So I might join this one. I haven't shopped for much CC as yet, but going to try and do that tonight. Not sure the size of the pictures if I do join. Many things have changed out here. I know you've heard many Biographies before mine, and I'm sure you're expecting the same from me – interesting Stories about the Places where I lived or about interesting Jobs or Relationships, but actually my life wasn't that special. I was born and raised on a Farm in Tennessee, together with two Sisters and three Brothers and I'm the oldest of them. I had to care for them and I never had much room for myself and my Dreams. From Time to Time I thought, that I might be invisible, because no one was interested in me. A Farmer's Life is hard and so was the Life of my Parents, they hadn't much Time for their Children. I was a shy and quiet Kid, maybe that was the reason for my invisibility. And because of that I had just one wish as a teen – I wished to be seen, I wished that People know my Face and that I'm no more invisible. That's why I'm here.

If you really think you have what it takes, then read on and take notes. This is where the work really begins, and the professionalism expected of you has to come into focus. You're going to be working with some of the best photographers and magazines in the business. Later on you might even even get the chance to work alongside a top film star... But that's far in the future.

A Day at the Beach

South Simville has a little talked about beach, and this is where your very first shoot it going to take you. It doesn't sound glamourous, and so it's your job to make it look glamourous. Sea pollution once made this one of the least visited beaches on this side of the country, and in recent years hundreds of millions has been spent on making it fit for habitation again. In order to get people more interested in the grand reopening, photographs are going to be taken of the area. And this is where you come in.

Photographs

(a) One picture of your model relaxing back on the beautiful, clean beach as it is now.
(b) One picture of your model at the grand reopening on the beach. This should be an evening shot.

Cover Girl and Cover Guy

A new deal has been brokered with Rising Star and Rock! Magazine, and your model has been chosen as the cover for their next Christmas special edition. You're going to be dressed in some of the best clothes the industry can get their needy little hands on, to accurately portray a rock star. Your make-up will also have to be in the appropriate style.

Photographs

(a) One picture of your model, in the necessary get-up on the cover of the magazine. You'll need to have Rock! displated on the front, as well as Christmas Special Edition somewhere on the cover. Imagine what a magazine cover looks like, and go wild with creating your own!

Writing
A little piece on what your model though of both shoots: the lead-up, the aftermath, etc.

Wow! That beach looks so much better now! It was lovely to see that beautiful bit of seaside back to its former glory, and I had a great time at the photo shoot. They wanted me with my top off (no surprise!) and they said just sit by the sea... I though it was a good idea, it's all about relaxing and I couldn't have been more relaxed. Although the camera was up to his waist in the water taking the picture!

At the launch party, I had a bit too much nectar and ended up going for a paddle in the sea, fully clothed! Luckily almost everybody (and thankfully anybody important) had left so I wasn't caught out! Good times!

Well, when I found out that I was going to get to muck around in the snow, I couldn't have been more excited. Greece didn't exactly have a lot of snow, so I never got to play in the snow as a child. I was meant to just be playing a guitar in the snow, but during a break they crew and I built a snowman and the photographer had the idea to have me destroy it... I think it turned out really well - I love the rock edgeyness in the shot!

Shot 1 - Kickin Back

On Tuesday, I woke and it was a gorgeous day. I knew it was the perfect day for the "Day at the Beach" photo shoot. The drive to South Beach from Belladonna Cove was a long one - not in miles but in anticipation. I was excited about the entire photo shoot. I used to visit the beach long ago when I was small, before it became polluted. Now that its been cleaned up it really reminds me of my childhood. It was windy but warm, thank goodness. The photographer seemed to always want me in some skimpy black shorts. When I suggested a wet suit for some surfing photos, she got all crazy on me, tell me that they didn't want to promote the beach for a bunch of surfers! She was really touchy. The beach was fun but I was really too exhausted to enjoy it much after the photo shoot was done.

Shot 2 - Grand Reopening

On Saturday at the grand reopening, the photographer insisted that I wear the skimpy black shorts again. I think she was trying to sell my body more than the beach! Just when I was finally able to sneak away and get a break from all the young girls screaming, the photographer caught me hiding. And wouldn't you know it, that's the photo she wanted all along! I thought she wanted more of the crowd that gathered. Turns out, she really wanted my phone number....crazy photographers. Anyway, we have a date next Friday!

Rock Magazine Cover Shot

I am really enjoying The Next Rising Star contest...its where I met Danielle, the photographer from my beach shoot. Our date was fantabulous - she is an awesome girl. I got extra lucky this week as well, she was selected as the photographer for the Rock Magazine shoot. After our first date, she made me feel really at ease so the Rock shoot went way better than either of us expected.

First, Danielle asked me, of all people, where I felt would be a good place for the photo shoot. When I told her about my charity performances at the hospital she was surprised and didn't know that I could really play the guitar. I don't really enjoy playing but my parents insisted that I play an instrument while growing up. I chose the guitar because I couldn't imagine blowing on a horn and my dad said "absolutely not!" to drums. Now, the only time I play is when I am asked - which is usually once a year. My mom's best friend works at the hospital on the oncology floor. She approached me when I was 15 and asked if I would be interested in playing for the patients on her floor at Christmas to help try to boost their spirits a bit. I agreed and have been doing it once a year since.

Anyway, long story short, the performance was fantastic. So great that a writer for Rock Magazine wrote an article about my charity performances for the magazine and they actually used my photo for the December Special Edition Issue! To top it off, Danielle was so excited about the photo shoot she insisted that I share all of the photos with you - view a slide show of the photos here. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/wndy26/sets/72157622619559543/show/) I had a great time at the hospital and the photos did turn out much better than I expected. I hope you enjoy them!

Relaxing on the beach:

I enjoyed this shoot also! However, it was a bit too hot that day, but the ocean was so cool. When we were finished, we all went into the ocean for a cool swim. The beach was a bit crowded when we first got there, but after awhile they were able to block one area off for the shoot.

Christmas Magazine:

I really liked this shoot also! It was fun seeing all the wonderful toys and decorations for christmas! It really put me in the holiday spirit! They also played all christmas music, so that was a plus. I had a great time with santa too! A bit of a flirt and very jolly, he made me laugh.

Beach Grand opening night:

I had fun taking this picture! The cool night breeze by the ocean hitting my face and hair was very relaxing! And the beautiful sky with the wonderful sound of the ocean! The people were amazing too. I never wanted to leave, and had a fantastic time.

Michele, if you have an editing program like GIMP or photoshop then you can open up a new document with the dimensions you would like and when you do your set up in the game, you can just bring it closer in so that you can get it all in the shot. You can also use the print screen option to get bigger, more clear pictures. I hope that makes sense. If not, I can show you. :)

Not sure what you mean when you say "I think you are allowed to link to images to large to post" is it linked SolidGold? If not I better resize it before I get into trouble lol Everything has changed so much out here, I feel kind of lost! Thank you very much :) The pictures always look clear until I have to resize them! :anime: I'll wait for Tririana to get in here and let me know if I should resize that picture. Michele,

The rules for posting photos can be found here (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=330412) As stated in the rules, if you want to post an image larger than 800 by 600 or 600 x 800 then it must be done through a link. (As of July 09)

I do, however, remember reading a post from Delphi (bP can verify I am sure) that MTS is now set up to auto resize your photos for you - which is what has happened with your photo in your round 1 entry. I can't say if you have to repost it or not - but I would suggest that you ask bP to clarify the rule - especially if it has been changed since she posted the rules in July of 2009.

For best bets, message boolPropped as she is always willing to explain the rules and help you come into compliance if needed.

Michele....you were right...it was May...musta had my eyes crossed to call it July....LOL

Update - I figured out where July came from - it was from the news threads - Delphy's post about not having to resize photos for MTS anymore - so this (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=351841) is newer info than what was in the rules for photos that I linked to earlier! While Delphy only refers to creators - Fanseelamb confirms its for all forum areas on post 4 of that thread. Please note - I did read that the file SIZE has not changed - so the files SIZE must be no larger than 175kb. Read and enjoy!

I miss how pretty the sims are in TS2!

The pics are fun to look at and TRIriana, this contest seems really fun.

As for you girls worrying about pic size.....if your pic is OVER 175kb the site won't even allow you to post it. Anything over 800x600 is auto sized.

Frankly, it bugs the hell out of me for contests. I like to see my simmy nice and big in all her glory....not resized..... :(

Anywho...I'll be lurking...have fun everyone. Can't wait to see more.

This first outing was a really fun shoot for me. I love water sports and I'm quite excited about having a nice clean beach area to get wet once again. They had to drag me out of the water to get me to stand still long enough to pose. The shoot went great, I think -- not hard to relax at the beach or look like you're having a good time while doing so.
Come evening, the sunset in the horizon over the water was so beautiful I can see why the town leaders want to promote the beach as an event area, as well. I'm thinking that someday when I get married, I'm thinking this beach is the place . . . . if they can pull me out of the water long enough to say "I do."

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii217/deb666/Sims%202%20Rising%20Star%20Contest/PMcC-R1-3.jpg

The ROCK! shot was so much fun! When they told me I would be doing a job for the leading rock music magazine, I just couldn't wait! After all, who didn't want to be a rock star when they grew up? We got together and started digging through props and wardrobe and I think we did a fairly good job of mixing and matching holiday colors with a music and Merry Christmas theme. I felt like a kid in a toy store. They even gave me the red and green guitars as a gift when we were done shooting. Can't wait to do some practicing on them -- maybe I'll be the next Rising Rock Star!!!

Demetrios is one gorgeous guy, I love his sense of style and while I'm usually not a fan of the old short hair I think it definately suits him. I detracted a point from the pose because I find his stare in the bodyshot rather creepy. I'd have tilted it up to have him staring into the camera.

There's some amazing potential in this guy, however I really don't think the almost girly hair he has suits his very masculine face, a personal opinion I'm sorry. However, I loved the profile shot with his eyes closed. I enjoyed the body shot however I really thought the decor in the background of Luke with the sandwiches didn't match him at all, I just can't see a guy with so much flair living in a wooden shack.

What. A. Cutie. I mean I already love her for her amazing attitude, she seems down to earth and friendly and I love the fact she's a natural redhead Irish girl. Half a point was docked for her slightly odd hairstyle which made her forehead look weirdly large but other than that she's going to go far.

Now I'm going to be brutally honest, the minute I saw that his eyebrows were a different colour to his hair I got a little bit put off but I noticed he has cheekbones to die for. My problem is that on the profile shot he looks very strange leaning forwards in like... a monkey pose. But the car shot was superb and he does look like an athletic kinda guy, very nice going with the story and free shot.

She's a looker and the first photo blew me away. A clean and bright shot that showed the detail of her face beautifully. The free shot however dissapointed me, she was right at the back of the picture and I was left focusing on the piano, also the daughter seemed a little old for the time she'd had her, I'd have had her looking much younger, she looked about eight on that picture. The profile shot had a bad hair choice which floated off her oddly. Overall I think she has massive potential.

Loveable, totally and utterly loveable. He has a face that screams rock star to me as well, he has sort of smoldering looks that women swoon over. Took half a point off for the VERY brief description, would have liked to know more about him.

Full marks. Just because I feel it's the perfect application. She's got good looks, a very sweet personality and I think something that instantly connects with people. I don't even know what it is but she's got so, so much more to give.

A very gorgeous lady and rather high fashion. Her headshot and profile are stunning but the body shot really puts me off, something about it looks so forced and the outfit just doesn't seem very her. However the end shot is once again stunning. An almost professional model here.

Gorgeous girl, though I'd change the lipgloss because that one makes her look like she's puckering up for a kiss. Obviously detracted some marks for the lack of in-game picture and also for the fact that the pretty little rich girl has been done to death. However I absoloutely love how she looks and the little green dungarees are gorgeous, I actually want a pair.

Round Two
Being the Extra

Now you've had a chance to step into the spotlight, and have started to develop a feel for being in front of the camera and having the attention focused on you. This time you've been selected as an extra in the next Hollywood movie: Revenge of the Killer Tomatoes III: Fruitation from the Deep.

Outshining the Star

Now their budget is...slightly limited, so you'll have the opportunity to be in the background of three scenes in all. You'll be a different background person in each shot and these are as follows.

Photographs

(a) One Deep Sea Diver Note: If you don't have Bon Voyage you don't have to be dressed in the actual diver suit. Just make it clear that you're a deep sea diver, how you do this is entirely up to you.
(b) One Police Officer Note: Where the police officer is, is up to you.
(c) One Possessed Tomato/Human Hybrid Note: Zombies, Werewolves, Vampires are not allowed. The more inventive the better!

There must be a secondary "main actor" in each of the shots to pose with your model - your model just has to stand out more.

A Step into Advertisement

Luckily for your model, this time you're going to have the opportunity of selecting the brand that YOU want to advertise. They're giving you full creative control! You need to show that you can really sell a product, in an inventive and different way.

Photographs

(a) One shot of your model advertising something. You can make up the brand and the product - be inventive! Don't just think of clothes or shoes - there are a LOT of products out there. This round you'll be marked on originality, so go wild! The advertisement can be magazine, billboard or television based.

Writing

Give an overview on how you came up with your idea to outshine the star - and what the stars reaction was. And for the last, write about why you chose that particular product.

Wow...we really have some harsh judges...I was going for a Taylor Lautner eye look when I sculpted his face especially his eyes. I suppose I didn't even come close. For some reason I can't get body shop to let me shorten the face much at all to form any sort of rounded look without making the face too fat looking. I wish there was a body shop sculpting class! Also, it would be nice if all judges left some comments.

Judge three - I appreciate your honesty about the color difference for eyebrows and hair. You should see my husband when he grows a full beard - his beard is plumb red and the rest of his hair is brown. He looks so funny and so cute.

Oh, gosh, I guess I misinterpreted the meaning of "brief".

Just for future reference, judges, Phil is just a happy-go-lucky sort of guy who up to this contest was, well, aimless. He's not a slacker, but he's never really strived for anything up til now. He was always ready and willing when there were chores, homework, work, whatever to be done -- feeling it was a job well done when through. I hope that helps when you try to figure out in future entries if he is staying in character.

Let me know if there is anything else you need to know about his life to help out with your judging purposes.

Oh, that sounds very good - thanks alot! And thanks to the Judges for the fast Scores! I've missunderstand the Plain Background, I just thought, that this meant that no other Things should be there, not that the wall should be white or Black - sorry for this... Thanks again for the extension, I totally forgot the Date...-.-

Hey Tri - what did you mean by "blank" background? (should the term come up in the future I want to make sure I get it right) Was it specifically black or white or did you want the Sims cut out of their regular background and set up with transparency? I wasn't sure so I chose the lightest possible wallpaper...but some of the comments on other entries complained about the background so clarification should be included - just in case we encounter this again. We can't read minds. :D

Yes - judge three thanks for the comments - I actually love Luke's "almost girly hair" - haha. But if this is allowed then I will try to give him another hairstyle that makes him more look like a men.

I was thrilled when we were told that we'd be doing beach shots – there aren't many warm, sunny beaches in Ireland! I was also eager to see how the beach had turned out, after all the work and money that had been put into it! When we arrived, I was in no way disappointed! It was a positively breath-taking sight. The sand was clean and warm, the water shimmered, and the flora that encompassed the entire beach was gorgeous, and so fragrant! A true paradise. I was very fortunate to be apart of getting the word out about this little haven!

The day of the photoshoot was warm and sunny, and I felt like Marilyn Monroe, frolicking on the beach in front o' the camera! I may have gotten a bit of a sunburn – darned Irish skin! - and I may have gotten sand in all the wrong places, but it was SO worth it.

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l155/IntrepidLlama/RelaxBeach-1.jpg

That same evening the Grand Reopening took place. T'was a very ntertaining event, with drinks and dancing, a friendly fire burning on the sand and the waves lapping gently at the beach. It was a thrill to be there – I had a grand time!

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l155/IntrepidLlama/newbeachgala.jpg

When I arrived on set for the ROCK! Magazine shoot, I was immediately struck by the enormity of it all. The lights, the cameras, the set, the hair and make-up people, the clothing... oh the clothing! I had my pick of the latest rockin' fashions, and I fell in love with a pair of red leather pants... and a Santa hat to match!

When it was time for the shoot to begin, I picked up that guitar and fake snow started flyin'... I felt like a real rock star! I started strummin' out the chords to the Christmas song “Fairytale of New York” and - much to the chagrin of, well, everyone in the studio – I sung along. I may have made a bit of an eejit of myself, but I didn't really care! For me, it was the spirit of Christmas spiked with the spirit of Rock N' Roll, all packed into one small studio, and I intended of having the time o' my life... and I did just that!

Blank background is to mean a plain background, but don't worry - no more plain backgrounds will be needed for the rest of the contest

Wgroome: It's a silly gimmick from a cheesy B-flick horror movie "Invasion of the Killer Tomatoes" ;) It isn't supposed to make a logical kind of sense. Your model is supposed to be the background "bad guy" who has been somehow possessed by the "Killer Tomatoes."

ROUND I : AMANDA REESE

When I arrived at Simville Beach I had no Idea of what was awaiting me. Before the Shoot was taken, I got some great Tips from the Make-Up & Hair Girl and a colourful Make-Up for the Shoot itself. Then the Photographer told me to just relax – Imagine how surprised I was. But at the End it was harder than I thought. “Put your Feet up there. Move your hand a bit to the left, please. No, the other hand!” But at the End we understood each other and I he made some really nice Pictures of me. The evening was even more interesting, the first Time of my Life I spoke to a completely unknown Crowd. Everyone was dressed so well and it was so not like my Parents Farm… I made some Mistakes while talking about the Beach and its History, but no one recognized. I was really afraid, that someone could jump up and laugh. But no one did, and while watching the Firework I soon forgot what I did wrong.

Being a Cover girl was always a dream of me, but I never imagined that I would be the Cover girl for Rock!s X-Mas special Edition! Being Photographed in such a big Studio was quite cool, but on the other hand… I always thought about the thousands of People which would see me, and so I was really excited and couldn’t focus myself on the shoot. But after a while and a bit talking with the Photographer I was ready and the Shoot could begin. I wasn’t that professional, but oh well, what do you expect form me?

Part 1: Outshining the Star

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2473/4096570544_a5f2717fde_o.jpg
Diver Scene
Revenge of the Killer Tomatoes...I never thought I would get picked to be in a movie, and of all movies! Don't go thinkin I am too special now, I didn't get the lead role at all. Jake Green landed that spot and he got to kiss the infamous Lydia Glover... Yeah, you could say I was a bit jealous...but not over Lydia. I am still dating Danielle, the photographer that I met through this wonderful contest. I just hope that my measly little role in this low budget horror flick helps get me a better job in the futre - maybe a lead role someday...

In this scene, Jake and I had just pulled some huge tomatoes up from the depths of the ocean, thinking they were just a freak of nature. Little did we know that the tomatoes would eat poor Lydia. The makeup artists and special effects crew did a bang up job on making this scene look great. The blood spillage looked so real. The director told us to make up our own reactions to the scene, to make it look more real. I wasn't real sure what reaction Jake was going to give, but I wanted to make sure my reaction was something masculine looking. Turns out, Jake took the sick look...made him look like a real weakling!

This was the hardest scene to pull off, our director wasn't much of a people person as all our extras kept running off before we could even get a shot in. We even had a major accident on location. A huge fire broke out and almost killed Lydia for real! All in all, it was quite exciting, if not exhausting.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2791/4105931754_749c890a0f_o.jpg
Police Officer Scene

In this scene, Jack Slack and I are cops investigating the library. Jack stands around looking studly while I do all the work - looking for evidence of tampering. Wondering about the look on my face, that's disbelief. I couldn't understand how Jack could stand around looking so modelish when we were supposed to be "acting" like cops, not models.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2508/4105164925_e6d0c18ce0_o.jpg
Tomato/Human Hybrid Scene

After Jack and I went in the library to complete our investigation, the human/tomato hybrids arrive on the scene. As an extra, I had to go get all this goopy makeup put on and be one of the human/tomato hybrids while Jack got to act freaked out at the site of the human/tomato hybrid monsters heading for the library. That's me right in front, the one with black jeans and no shirt - boy, I am handsome in this shot! I think the makeup artists did a such a smashing job because Jack really looked like he was gonna piss his pants! The expression on his face made me feel pretty good about this scene, he wasn't very studly after all.

Wondering what human/tomato hybrids are? It just so happens that once a killer tomato bites a human, they turn into these zombie like creatures and help the killer tomatoes take over the city, and eventually the world!

Acting in the film was great fun, even if I wasn't the star. Working along side the other famous actors, like Jake Green, Jack Slack, and Lydia Glover, I managed to learn quite a bit. Aside from the big names, they were really just regular people just like me but with a few ego issues. But, with paparazzi following them around all the time, the ego issues are bound to develop. I hope I can keep mine in check.

Brash Deodorant Campaign

Advertising, one of the biggest contracts a model can get is to be chosen for an advertising campaign, especially for a popular product like Brash Deodorant. I was a little nervous about this photo shoot. It was the first time I had ever done modeling for a major brand name product. As you can see, I had a hot model chic and great photo shoot. And I have to say, I was wearing Brash and it really did work - what more could a model ask for!

I am VERY confused here! I have no idea what I'm doing! I didn't know the tomato task was supposed to be mixed in with the diver theme!! :wtf: I thought it was supposed to be 4 different themes. Michele, the theme of all three "outshine the star" photos is based around the Killer Tomato movie. Your supposed to be an actor in the movie, not the star of the movie, in each photo using the themes - diver, policeman, and human/tomato hybrid. That is how I read it and understood it. TRIrianna may need to confirm though. :)

SolidGoldFunk84

From what I read you're supposed to be a diver in one photo for the Killer Tomato Movie, a policeman or whatever in the second photo for the Killer Tomato Movie and in the third photo you're a possessed tomato or something. All three photos are for the movie but you're just the extra characters needed. I hope that made sense. I think you're also supposed to have another star including the main star and you have to outshine them both.

Thank you very much wndy and SolidGold! I wish I would have known this too before I worked so hard on the other picture! I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who was confused pai.kea :| I may have to use some ps tubes to do this. It will be in game pictures but with some tubes if I can find them. wndy, if I may ask please. I can't seem to get but 3 pose boxes on the beach for some reason. Is there a hack that allows more CC for the beach? If there is I can't seem to find it. Still confused a bit about the "monster" the model is supposed to be! Michele, have you tried lining all your pose boxes up on the sidewalk, across the street, or someplace like that? I use move-objects on, plant every pose box I have in some incomspicuous spot across the street or something and then have my model skip over to his position and just click thru poses in the boxes that way til I get something that looks right for what I'm trying to do and then move object my model into final position.
Does that help you any? There shouldn't be a limit to the number of pose boxes you can plop down. I know I toss out every one I have frequently.

Hello! Just checking in again before I need to head to work. Wndy explained it correctly. There is one film, the Killer Tomato movie. Each character your model is to portray is just from a different scene in that movie, since they are supposed to be an extra playing different parts.

"I couldn't believe I got to be an extra in such a big movie, well 3 extras! The first scene I had to fall off the boat, as I was playing the clumsy colleague of Michelle Axworth, the leading lady. It was really weird but a load of fun, I hope it looked convincing! The second scene I got to live out everybody's childhood fantasy and be a policeman! We were just running through some alleyway sets, they were going to put these shots between the main action shots. It was OK, but after running for the fiftieth time between to plywood board, it got a bit boring! The last scene was definitely the weirdest. I had to be a zombie, which meant 3 horus in make-up before hand. I was shooting one of many scenes where the zombies kill innocent people, I got to attack a girl in a bathrobe. Not often you get to do that at work!"

"When I saw that the government were looking for a new face of their "Get Healthy", I couldn't resist. And no, not just because I wanted to have my face on billboards and bus-stops! The growing trend of obesity has always concerned me, I really wanted to do my bit to try and help. To me, the pay wasn't important, I just wanted to get the message across."

Last week I received a call, I had to go to a photo shoot, immediately. Therefore an hour later I was on the set and they put me into a very awkward Santa Claus outfit and asked me to sit in the snow, It was really cold and the snow was of course very wet. So now I was sitting there for quite some time, and was asked to make a happy face. Not so easy when you can not stop shivering and you feel the muscles in your face freezing. Well I can tell you I am still sore – you know where – from sitting in that snow. However the picture that we shot will end up on the ROCK – Christmas edition! Cool or what? I could not show you the ROCK magazine yet since it is a surprise version however – here is the raw version with my profile on the cover, awesome!

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/Sims/lukesnow2-1.jpg

A few days after that I received another call I should have another shoot – at the beach! Hurray, I never had been to the beach so that was a great thing for me. The first shoot was pretty tough. The photographer asked me to look ‘relaxed but appealing’. Yeah right – how the hell does someone look appealing?? Well at the end he liked the result and I liked it as well.

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/Sims/Beachluke.jpg

In the evening then I received my reward when I was invited to the Grand opening. It was a nice party, very ‘formal’, may important people there, so the stylist wanted me to look ‘stylish’. She colored my hair and fixed it and twisted it and now I look like a brand new guy. What do you think – you like it?

"MUWWWAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAH!!!!! Tomato-Boy 1, Big Star 0!!!!"

It occurred to me, about two minutes into my movie-making adventure, that I was a far better actor than Dirk Novacaine -- supposed great super star. I didn't really set out to upstage him left and right, it just sort of happened that way . . . . maybe because it was soooooo easy.
Right off the bat, I was performing better than Dirk. First thing he does is wobble off the dock for our diving scene. So, while he's floating around whining for his stunt double, I did all the work. Then I had to help the putz get out of the water so he could go off and "have himself a much needed drink".
Okay . . . . . a few much needed drinks later, time to play cop and bust some perps. But, ol' Dirk can't walk straight anymore. Needless to say, I had no problems playing my role of a cop scuffling and arresting my target while the Big Star couldn't even stay on his feet long enough to fight back.
By the time we were almost done filming the movie, the directors and producers thought I was doing such a great job that they let me have a minor role as the tomato hybrid killer. I easily took care of our "star".
On the final day of filming, Dirk Novacaine threw a fit at the top of his lungs saying the director made him look like a fool throughout the whole movie, he'd never work for said director again, and he was calling his lawyer and suing said director before stomping out of the stage area and slamming the door.

I was so excited when the PR guy from the Minnesota Wild called and asked if I'd be interested in doing some promo's for them. How could I not choose to? Oooh, yeah! Love that Minnesota hockey. When I was a kid, the North Stars moved to Dallas of all places . . . . can you imaging that? It may have been one of the few times in my life when I felt like hanging down my head and crying. I was so excited a while back when hockey came back to Minnesota. Watched this team grow from "infancy". So, of course, I'm happy to do my part to promote my favorite team --- after all, this season, the Stanley Cup is ours 'cuz "it's in our blood". Woot! Woot!

I hate photoshop! Will someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I started out my last part on some whopping big blank 1200 sq canvas, got all my parts for my ad onto it between photoshop and picture it, and when i saved it as a psd and jpg in photoshop, the %%$#**## program shrunk it down to some stupid little 400x300 thing. Why does ps always do that to me? Now I have to start out all over again to get it up to size. I guess the only thing photoshop was good for now, was using it to make gif's of my logo's with transparent backgrounds to use when I restart the whole works in Picture It. I miss PS5, at least it did what I wanted to do ten percent of the time.

Michele. I think we need to use a photo editor to make our ads. The movie pics???? I only stuck my pics onto grungy looking flimclip backgrounds for that part of the round for "realism".

14th Nov 2009, 03:45 AM
Deatherella, I don't have photoshop anymore but I don't remember that ever happening. :(

Did you save it as a .psd first? If you still have the .psd file then you shouldn't have to start over. From what I remember when you save your images as anything other than a photoshop document you get a pop up screen to allow you to change settings and everything. You should try one more time starting with your .psd file and then check your settings. If that doesn't work you can always try GIMP for free. That's what I use now so I've gotten used to that. Also, did you save your work in layers? If you want, since GIMP opens .psd files, I can look at it for you and see if I can figure out why it's doing what it's doing.

Deatherella
14th Nov 2009, 06:00 PM
Solid, it happens to me all the time in photoshop. One of the reasons I never use it unless I want parts of pics pasted onto other pics -- which you can't do in Picture It unless the pic you're pasting has a transparent background without white squares around them. I saved it as a psd and it still shrunk it. I did it all over again in Picture It.

pai.kea, it was almost more trouble than it was worth for the last shot. My original idea was to move-object Phil into killer tomatoes like they had for Sims 1 at SimSlice but they didn't make them for TS2. Darn. I searched the net for tomato stuff and that's it -- plants and bushels unless I wanted to hang paintings of tomatoes up all over, too. So I exercised him into a sunstroke and gave him some "leaves" and now he's a hybrid.

TRIriana, thanks for the extension. I kept trying to upload my last pic last night, gave up and went to bed.

I am running behind with my last few photos as well. Thank goodness TRIrianna gave us an extension. I am going to try to get mine done over night...provided everything cooperates.

Deatherella, what version of photoshop are you using? Are you chosing "Save for web" from the file menu? Also, be sure your double checking your zooming numbers in the bottom left corner of photoshop - it may just be shrinking down because of the zoom level is low and not because the image is any smaller - make sure your zoom level is set to 100% Also, check your crop box to make sure you don't have a specific resolution or length and width set there - those numbers should be blank when you crop. The only way photoshop reduces d0cument size is if you tell it in one of your settings somewhere. And the only settings that do that are the crop tool (located on the tool bar on the side with settings up near the menu bar) and the size option under the edit menu.

Deatherella
15th Nov 2009, 12:23 AM
wndy26, thanks for telling me that stuff. I have Photoshop 7. I had 5 on my old pc. I don't crop much in ps but I have only zoomed my pics up big enough to see them to work on them -- never knew that they had to be at 100% to save them at that size. I usually just hit save as in the file menu and pic the kind of file I want and then it pops up a box with all kinds of numbers in it for quality that I ignore and then when I exit, it pops up the box to save it as a psd and so I click yes or it never lets me out of the program and that's when it saves my stuff to super small sizes of my original stuff. I'm probably not making sense but this kind of problem happens to me all the time in that program. When I used PS5, the jpg's stayed the size I made them and only shrunk on the psd's half the time in that version. All my pics for this round were almost completey done in Picture It, a sweet little freebie off some super old WalMart photo CD. Whatever works, huh?

wndy26
15th Nov 2009, 12:41 AM
Actually, it doesn't matter what zoom level your photo is, it should still save at the same size. I used to use PS7 and never had that problem....the quality settings are important though - if the number is too low your image may come out blurry. Just to clarify, are you indeed using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements? I still am not sure what may be causing your photos to come out smaller when you save them, I have never seen that before.

SolidGoldFunk84
15th Nov 2009, 03:20 AM
Yeah, I was going to say that not being at 100% shouldn't cause the problem. I wish I could actually see what your problem was to be more helpful. Have you searched any photoshop forums deatherella? Oh, I had CS2 (can't find my serial that's why I stopped using it) I will try to jump on my old laptop though and see if I can figure something out for you.

REVENGE OF THE KILLER TOMAOTES III:
FRUITATION FROM THE DEEP

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l155/IntrepidLlama/beach1.jpg

"What's going on here, Agent Mulroney?"

"Well, Chief, I'm not enirely sure... some swimmers this morning had reported that there were strange seed looking floaters on the water, and now we're getting reports of missing boaters... they seem to have just vanished. And the strange thing is, the boats are covered these same seed-like growths. I've sent them to the lab for testing, but.... well, they almost look like tomato seeds."

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l155/IntrepidLlama/alley1.jpg

"These tomatoes are taking over my city, Mulroney!"

"Sir, the team and I, we're doing the best we can here..."

"Well do better! Next time it won't be an abandoned warehouse they destroy... it will be civilians homes! Or city buildings! Get this under control, now! There are reports coming in about stange sightings in the warehouse district on the other side of town. Go check it out!"

http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l155/IntrepidLlama/Tomato.jpg

Agent Mulroney smelled the scent of fresh tomatoes before she even entered the warehouse. She crept slowly through the darkness, trying to make her way toward the sourse of the smell, totally unaware that the source of the smell was closer than she thought.

Ha! I had such an awesome time workin' on this movie. I think my favorite part was gettin' all painted up for the final scenes. It's fun bein' the villian! Unfortunately, it wasn't that much fun for Aria, the actress who played Agent Mulroney. She didn't take too well to bein' second-fiddle to an extra... oh well! Her loss. Hollywood, here I come!

When I was approached to do an advert for the Irish National Travel Bureau, I was honored... and totally stoked! Wow how exciting is that? I really scored a role in a movie. Well yes the movie is not one of Hollywood’s mega-productions but hey it sounded fun. And in retrospective I can say – I had the chance to show the 100 faces of Lukester. Why I am saying that? Well I had not one role – I had three roles. Yes I know sounds crazy but it’s true. The director had not enough good co-stars and so I had the chance to show off in different scenes.
What made me deserve this honor? Well it was the very first scene that scored me the success. I had to play one of the naval divers who found the treasures of the deep see. The guy at the desk is Derek Beau and he is the star of the movie. He is nice. I liked him but he always got the remark that he only has one face, one mimic. I was much more alterable – that is what the director said.
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/Lukemoviescene1.jpg

In the second scene I got to play the guy who furtively was the winner in the ladies game. Jeannie Reel plays “Susu” the nature girl which was also found by the diver’s crew. In real Derek fell for Jeannie but she did not see him, she was with me. During the scenes Derek had to flirt with Jeannie but the script said that “Susu” had to fall for the nerd. Guess who played the nerd???

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/scenethree.jpg

The last scene for me was the most fun. I got to play the DJ at the after party and even Derek was there again, you know what they say…girls love DJ’s!! The police men came in running to pick up Derek because his search crew had a new treasure. However the last scene was all about the DJ since the DJ had a big surprise for the audience. It was amazing and my appearance in this movie scored me another Job.

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/LukeParty.jpg

I told you I scored another job after the movie were finished. I was hired to do an advertisement for BMW. I could not say no to that. I had to look like the heartbreaker per se, so that the car and I build a perfect match. I actually liked my look in this commercial.
The best part of all was that I could keep the car. I am looking forward to whatever comes next.

Round Three
Moving into Theatre

You've had the chance so far, to delve into both modelling and acting on the big screen but now we're going to take a step into a more refined area of acting: Theatre. Good luck!

Shakespeare, anyone?
This time you have the opportunity to head over to Sim City's illustrious theatre district and act your little hearts out on stage. You have a choice of performing in one of three Shakespeare plays, and the choices are as follows:

A Midsummer Night's Dream
The Tempest
MacBeth

Photographs

You can portray anyone you choose in any one of these plays and two pictures will be needed overall: the pictures must reflect two separate scenes from the play. You must create the stage set as well as ensuring the clothing styles etc are as they would be in these plays.

Lights! Camera! Action!

Our little Agency is being very good to you this week: We have several films that require a main actor - that's right, this is your chance to hit the big time!

Pictures

Two pictures are required for this part as well: you can make up your own movie title but you must make it clear what exactly the movie is about. It can be any genre at all, but the two pictures must reflect two separate scenes in your movie.

Writing

Give a brief on your reasons for chosing the play and film that you did, thoughts and feelings etc.

Furthermore I have seen that I did not really placed my pictures into the order the others did - my hybrid picture is in the middle of the story - hope that will not cause confusion.

And at last I just read - and therefore misunderstood that my Sim had to be the bad guy in the hybrid picture? Well I did not get that the first time - so I just labeled him as nerd- hope that counts somehow.

So far we have only seen scores from our application. We have two rounds of scores yet to view...can we get an extension on this round so we can wait for our scores and feedback? So am I supposed to use the same play I did the picture from, Midsummer? Or I have to pick another one from the list TRIriana posted? I feel so stupid! I'm just not getting this for some reason  I want to thank you for all your help wndy, it's very much appricated :)

I must say TRIriana, your contest is very challenging!

As far as the scoring goes, it really doesn't matter to me. However, I do agree with wndy. It would be nice to see where we stand with our pictures. This way we would know how much harder who have to work on the next rounds. It gives us all an idea where we stand at this point.

Missroxr has graciously stepped in to emergency judge for us, so hopefully I should have the scores for both by tomorrow evening. :).

Michele D: You choose one play and take two pictures from that one play,.

I must say that landing a leading role in MacBeth was like having your cake and eating it, too. It was like studying Shakespeare in college with ten times the pizzazz. You're wondering why I tried out for a role in MacBeth? Well . . . um . . . I'm a Scot. It was hard work and fast-paced, but I loved every minute of it.

Shortly after the theatre job, I heard a film company was working on some stories by my favorite author. I was so-o-o-o-o-o there for that one. The Cat from Hell is about a hitman (me) who gets a call from an old man that needs a job done. Turns out the sweet purring kitty beside me on the couch is actually a "killer cat" according to Old Man Drogan. The second shot is from later in the movie when "sweet purring kitty" pounces . . . . .and I'm not going to tell you anymore than that -- wouldn't want to spoil the movie for you.
That was so much fun working on the killer tomato and then the killer cat movies that I'm thinking I just might have myself a back-up plan if things don't work out for me in this exciting contest. There just aren't enough cult movies in this world, nope, nope, nope. Make room, Tarantino!!!! Bruce Campbell, here I come!!!

******************************************************

"The Cat from Hell" is from Just After Sunset by Stephen King. You can find out what the sweet purring kitty does by reading it.

Well I hope mine appear as though they are on stage! Because I'm not doing them over and thats not how I read it, and I read it three times lol. I would have made a stage and put correct lights up. Oh well :anime:

Gah! I got up early today (well, as early as I do get up on a day off!) to work on this but I didn't expect the servers to be down for 3 hours  . I think I can have round 1 in in the next couple of hours but I'm now getting worried about round 2. I only have this afternoon to work on it since I still have to pack my bags for flying to Scotland tomorrow  I'll try my best and keep you updated. It might mean only limited comments.

EDIT: Wow, I was accurate with my timings to the minute

Just posted my round 1 scores to TRIana. I'm off to get some very delayed lunch then I'll start on Round 2.

"It was great working in a real theatre company, and getting the lead was unbelievable! I was amazed how quickly the scenes changes in the play, so rather than having large bits of scenery, they just add a few objects... everyone in the cast has to help between scenes (they dim the lights!) It was really difficult, especially with English being my second language, but I think my performance wasn't too bad... although I've not read any reviews yet!"

"We've just finished shooting my first film, a romcom called "Coming Up Next". It's about a handsome guy (hello!) who moves to the city to pursue his dream of being a news presenter. He quickly falls in love with his co-host, but they try (quite unsuccessfully) to hide their romance to keep their professional images. Eventually they give up trying to hide their love, and their happy ever after carries on from there... It's a great film that will hopefully show people that there can still be romance in the world, and hopefully make them giggle... I won't say anymore except look out for the fountain scene, it's hilarious!"

Your magazine cover was definitely the better out of your pictures, and it looks like Demetrios was having a lot of fun! Your writing reflected that as well, which was very good. I would have preferred to see your evening shot front on, but the thought of him having gone into the sea whilst a little tipsy was amusing.

Intrepid Llama: Avaleigh O'Hara

Your first two pictures look very serene and relaxed, which was very nice to see for beach shots and I liked the addition of other revellers in the background in your evening shot. The blurbs on the magazine also made me chuckle - overall a really good entry.

I do like the magazine front cover - "Santa Bailey" rocking out on a guitar was amusing, and his expression looked really into it. I'd like to see more expressions from him in the next rounds, as in the Beach shots it looked a little too similar.

The writing on youe magazine shoot was a very good choice I think, and the colours worked really well to provide that festive air! It would have been nice to see more of the actual beach in the background of the first two shots, but posing with a surfboard was a good idea. It was nice too, to see more of Paul's personality coming through in the writing.

Pai.Kea - Amanda Reese

The close-up you took for the first beach shot was a nice take: crystal clear sea water does give the impression that a beautiful beach may lie beyond! You magazine was quite stunning, however I don't think you quite captured the Rock! aspect, though it did look very Christmas-y. The layout of the magazine worked very well too - realistic!

Michele D: Noelle Winterton

Your photographs were wonderful! I like the first beach shot especially. Capturing the seagulls in the background gave an edge of reality to the shot, which was nice to see. I would have liked to see a bit more rock! with the Christmas in the magazine cover, but that's a rather small thing. Again, I'd like to see more expression but overall a superb entry.

Aba23: Luke Ster

I like your second beach shot the best; it looks mysterious somehow, with him being partially hidden behind the tree. The glare on the third picture unfocuses the picture a little bit, which is a shame - Luke seems to be having a lot of fun juggling! I like too, how much Festive spirit is in your magazine, however there isn't much Rock! there.

Comments: The evening shot really tied in with your story, he even somehow looks a little unsteady on his feet and the spontaneity conveyed with his rolled up trousers and discarded shoes hints at his party induced tipsiness. You portrayed a nice clean beach but it looked a little plain to me. Could have done with a bit more decoration. I like the concept, story and image ‘primping’ for the rock shot but the overall feeling I got from it was boy-band rather than rock star.

Comments: Aba was a bit naughty since he/she didn’t include the full phrase, “Christmas Special Edition” but luckily we’re not judging rules followed on this round. The Rock pic is a little dark but nice touch incorporating the tree into the writing. Day shot: Luke doesn’t seem to be happy about ‘relaxing on the beach’ lol. I like that you’ve tried a creative angle for your shot but I also would liked to have seen more of the beach.

Beauty: 9.5/10

Comments: This is the sort of thing I pictured when I read the round theme. This beach really does look like it has been cleaned up and beautified. A pic like this would make me want to check out that beach. The evening shot shows the more elegant side of the beach, you really set the scene perfectly. Although night time shots can be difficult Intrepid got the lighting just right. I also liked the structure and composition; there were no big blank spaces but at the same time it wasn’t too fussy or busy. I loved the rock shot. Nice work on the magazine lay-out, the headlines were funny too. You’ve managed to capture a more edgy, rock look but the theme is blatantly apparent in the colours, decor and even the font which oddly reminds me of Christmas cards. Your text really showed Avaleigh’s personality.

Wndy26/Bailey Loftner
Beauty: 9.5/10

Comments: The day shot is very pretty and depicts a friendly relaxed atmosphere. I was a little disappointed with the evening pic. There was nothing to suggest he was at a party and the shot could just as easily have been a day shot. I liked the story behind it though. The Rock shot made me giggle a bit; he looks really into whatever he’s singing. You definitely nailed the Christmas magazine cover theme.

Deatherella/Phil McCracken
Beauty: 9/10

Comments: The day pic is simple and beautiful. I don’t know how much of it is touching up the image but the colouring you have achieved really works. I love colours that contrast in a pleasing way and your turquoise, blues and pink are really pleasing to the eye. At the party Phil looks happy and a bit sexy at the party in his beach bum chic apparel. It could do with a little more soft lighting though and neither shot really shows off the new and improved beach. Rock Shot: Wow, that’s a lot of green and red, lol. I love his expression and pose, maybe a little more folky than rock but you definitely nailed the Christmas theme and it looks great.

Pai.kea/Amanda Reese
Beauty: 9/10
Pose: 9/10
Picture Quality: 9/10
Overall Creativity: 9/10
Total: 36/40
Comments: Amanda looks quite relaxed in the day shot but there is not really any atmosphere in the image. You have portrayed ‘sun-drenched’ very well though with the use of clever lighting. I know you don’t have BV but it would have been nice to see an attempt at recreating a beach type scene like you did on the night shot. I really love your evening shot. Her expression and the sparkler really portray a happy party atmosphere. I loved your magazine cover design, very original. Ice Queen with a heart and winter wonderlands make a nice change to the more traditional themes of Christmas time. You do seem to rely on the text to tie in with the rock theme and the image seems a little dark but I love the effect you have on the title where it looks like it’s made of ice. Overall very nice.

Michele D: Noelle Winterton
Beauty: 9.5/10

Picture Quality: 9.5/10
Overall Creativity: 9.5/10

Comments: Your day shot is very bright and happy. You’ve done some really nice touch ups to the image but it’s in danger of perhaps looking a little over-shopped. The party shot was fab. I love the nautical themed clothes and it really looks like my sort of party: heaps of booze! Pretty stars too. The rock shot is very busy like she’s in Christmas hell (bah humbug!) but Noelle looks fierce like a rock diva with real attitude!

Comments: Your pictures are really clear and well thought out. I had to dock points for beauty and pose because I can barely see his face in the day shot and he's posing from the back in the night shot. I think the picture would have worked better if you had him coming out of the water so that we could see his face. Your magazine cover would have been perfect had you added the little details to make it look more like a magazine cover. The creativity and picture quality is definitely there. I just think you need to present larger pictures that show Demetrios off more.

Comments: Luke looks great on the cover and in the beach shots. I love his new hairstyle. I think you should stick with that. I understand that you were a bit rushed this round since you had some issues with your game. Although you explained that the magazine cover was a raw copy, I think you should have given the final copy of how it would have looked. I also think for future rounds you should try bringing Luke more to the front of the pictures. If you need help with this please feel free to ask. :)

Comments: Avaleigh is gorgeous as you already know. There was obviously a lot of effort put into your settings. I docked a half point from the pose though because you used the pose in the beach day shot for your application. You should try looking through those links that Michele D posted for the pose boxes. Your pictures are a little larger but just as I said for Luke Ster, you should try bringing Avaleigh more to the front of the pictures so that we can see her beautiful face more clearly.

Comments: I don't think you could have done a better job if you tried. My biggest thing is large, clear pictures and you've nailed that! Also, you can definitely see the work put into his face sculpt especially in the magazine cover. It's too bad that I didn't see those angles in the application. Also, Baily seems like such a great person. Who knew he played guitar for sick patients? Beautiful work this round and thanks for the bonus pics. Please keep doing what you're doing. :)

Comments: You can really see from Phil's pictures that he really is a happy, go lucky guy as you pointed out to us. I love your beach shots! My only critique is for the magazine cover. It would have been perfect had Phil been more visible. He is lost in all of the clutter around him. It's almost like he's a prop just like the guitars and they seem way out of proportion.

Comments: The day shot is absolutely perfect! I deducted a half point from the pose just because of the night shot. Noelle is stunning in the night shot however, the pose looks really stiff and unnatural. I deducted a point from picture creativity because I think more could have been done to achieve the look of a magazine cover such as headlines, a proof of purchase, etc. Also, I don't know what was done but the image also appears really pixelated. I know it wasn't that way before but it appears to have happened when you resized it. If you can show what you are doing to resize your pictures I may be able to offer some advice.

Very nice comments! I did not show much of the beach because he Beach Lot that I downloaded for the shot wrecked my game so I had to improvise on that. And for the magazine - I have to admit I had simply no idea how to bring text nicely on a picture. And since I was in a rush there was not enough time to learn.

For all that I am happy with the score. Am not falling to far behind. Thanks

Comments: Now, I know this seems really harsh but overall you did not do what the host asked of you. You were supposed to outshine the star in the first three pictures and none of them show you doing that. In fact, in the first and last, you can't even see Demetrios. Also, the host asked you to write about how you came up with the idea to outshine the star and you just said what was in each scene. I also think that there should have been some hint that the first three shots were from the Killer Tomato Movie. I didn't get that from any of your pictures. Had you done what was asked of you, I think your score could have been a lot higher. Your pictures are of superb quality! I think you still need to make your pictures bigger and do what you did for your advertisement, that is, bring Demetrios from the background. Even in the previous round he's really small in the pictures and barely noticeable. Demetrios has a lot of potential.

Comments: You lost the most points by not following the rules. However, I also took points from your outshine factor because had you not said which one was Luke, I would not have known. In your second picture I was like, which one is Luke? Then I read the text. I do love that Luke has many faces and he is like a chameleon however, his face should still be recognizable. Also, I would have liked there to be more of a hint that the movie was for Killer Tomatos. I deducted points from rule adherence because I think that you had to BE the diver, the police officer and the Possessed Tomato/hybrid. Your advertisement was really original! I would not have thought to advertise a car. Great job there! For the next round I would just say to pay closer attention to what the host is asking for. If you don't understand then you could always ask because that's what she's there for.

Comments: I loved your entry and she did a great job outshining the star! I loved that you could tell she was an extra but you could still tell that it was Avaleigh back there. It seems that you made all of the other characters with dark hair on purpose... if this is the case, great strategy because unfortunately being an extra you can't exactly be in the forefront so you have to make your character stand out in a different way. Her bright red hair served her very well this round! I didn't deduct points for this but next time you should make sure that the thought bubbles are turned off when taking your pictures. I did deduct a half point from rule adherence though because you did not say how you came up with the idea to outshine the star. Your advertisement was brilliant! I believe that Avaleigh is really going to go far for this competition. :)

Comments: WOW!!!! I absolutely loved your advertisement. That first picture is so original and creative. I deducted 1 point from outshine factor though because for the first shot it took me a minute to get which one Bailey was and for the last picture I had no clue which one he was. I also deducted a point from rule adherence because the host asked that you explain how you came up with the idea to outshine the star and to explain how the star felt about that. You didn't really do either one so I had to deduct a point. In my opinion, there isn't anything you can do better. Your storytelling skills are great and your pictures are great! Overall, great entry and Baily's looks are really growing on me. :)

Comments: Your entry was so funny! I loved it however, it seems that your images weren't from the movie at all. I get this idea because had the main actor been that drunk and had he fallen in the water, the director would have more than likely redone those scenes. So, because the images don't seem to be from the movie that made it to theaters, I have deducted a point from "rule adherence" and 2 points from "outshine factor". The idea behind the advertisement is great however, the execution needs a bit of work. I had no clue what he was advertising and Phil seems like a prop instead of a model. I don't know if the intent was for the cup to be that huge but I don't think it worked out too well in Phil's favor. Other than that, great entry and I think when photoshopping your images you should just watch out for your proportions.

Comments: I know you were having a hard time coming up with something for this round but I think your pictures turned out beautifully. Great way to improvise. I think the second picture, of Noelle as a cop should have been a little more serious. It seems that the main character is modeling instead of acting so he's really outshining you in that one. The last picture for the Killer Tomato Movie, I think you should have left the text out because it makes her seem more like the star of the movie than the extra. Had you left the text out I think your goal to outshine the guy on the bench would have been a acheived. I deducted 2 points for rule adherence because you did not explain how you came up with the idea to outshine the star, how the star reacted and why you chose the product that you did.

Comments: You portrayed the diver and policeman themes very well but I don’t think you quite grasped the ‘outshine the star’ aspect of the round. Your text doesn’t mention how you came up with the idea for outshining the lead or how they reacted. Your third shot portrays you as a bad guy nicely and I like the composition but there’s not even a hint of tomato. I really like the concept and look of your advert, top marks for that. You gave good reasons for choosing it too. I can just imagine it up on a gym wall.

Comments: I like the set design of your diver shot, very fishy. Luke is more noticeable as we can see more of him but there’s no mention in the text of how or why you tried to out shine him or how he reacted. I’m guessing your second scene is relating to the “Possessed tomato/Human Hybrid” scene as there’s plants and a plant sim though you don’t seem to be the bad guy here. Also I think Luke is straying from extra to co-star when you take into account your text. I don’t really get pic 3. I can’t see the relation between this and any of the scenes mentioned in round 2s brief. For your scene shots overall I have judged as normal for visuals but I have deducted a lot of points for rules followed and for where I thought you didn’t outshine the star. I really like your pose and set-up for your advert, looks genuine.

You did a great job of outshining the star and I like Phil’s funny captions for each pic, like he takes pleasure in seeing Dirk make an ass of himself. He'll be hoping that first scene is only in the deleted scenes. Phil seems really passionate about his advertisement, what a good idea. I personally don’t find it particularly visually pleasing but that’s largely down to the team’s unfortunate colour scheme which I doubt you can do anything about, lol. He gives excellent reasons for doing it though.

Pose: 9/10
Creativity: 9/10
Advert Originality: 9/10
Outshine Factor: 2.5/5
Rules: 4/5
Total: 33.5
Comments: You did a great job of portraying all the themes but I think you could have done a lot more to outshine the lead actors in the first two pics. You didn’t mention it in your text either except in pic two where the lead actor outshines you! I liked the set designs and explanation behind each scene, your 3rd pic was particularly good and I love your props in the first. Nice photoshopping. For your advertisement shot Noelle looked stunning which is exactly what’s needed to sell a beauty product. Her hair is unfathomably shiny in that way that only hair models seem to achieve but you forgot to mention in your text why she wanted to advertise this product. Nice photoshopping again.

Judge Three

Wgroome: Demetrios Rodos
Pose: 6/10
Creativity: 6/10
Advert Originality: 8/10
Outshine Factor: 2.5/5
Rules: 4/5
Total: 22.5/40
Your advert was definitely my favourite - it was very creative and original, so kudos for that one! Your "outshine" factor was a little low for me, because Demetrios didn't quie stand out. He did in the first shot, as the scuba diver falling over the side but in the others not so much. Your idea of using a "Grim" creature feature was inventive, however because the woman was fully in the shot and in such an obvious colour it detracted from him. I did like Demetrios' reasons for using the advert that he did though, but it would have been nice to see his thoughts on the others shoots as well.

Aba23: Luke Ster
Pose: 5/10
Creativity: 5/10
Advert Originality: 6/10
Outshine Factor: 1.5/5
Rules: 1/5
Total: 18.5/40
I like you pose on the car for the advert; this one was a very good effort and it's quite obvious that Luke is having a blast! Your writing was descriptive, but a lot of points were lost due to the other pictures. The first was on the correct track - you had Luke portraying a Scuba Diver, and I liked the octopus although it detracted from your model. Your other shots, though creative, were not related to the round as per the rules.

Intrepid Llama: Avaleigh O'Hara
Pose: 8/10
Creativity: 9/10
Advert Originality: 10/10
Outshine Factor: 3/5
Rules: 4/5
Total: 34/40
Your advert was so darn original, I love it! I especially liked how you turn the sky into the flag of Ireland as well. It was super, really. :D

Wndy26: Bailey Loftner
Pose: 8/10
Creativity: 8/10
Advert Originality: 7/10
Outshine Factor: 3/5
Rules: 5/5
Total: 31/40
I absolutely adore your first picture and it made me LOL the moment I saw it - very creative! Your creature feature scene was great as well, and I think Bailey looked the best he's been so far in the advert. You're doing great in the contest, keep up the good work. :D

Deatherella: Phil McCrakken
Pose: 7.5/10
Creativity: 8/10
Advert Originality: 8/10
Outshine Factor: 3/5
Rules: 5/5
Total: 31.5/40
I liked your advert a lot, particularly the pose that you had him using. :) The way it was written was creative also, but from the writing that accompanied the pictures, it sounded as though the shots were the "outtakes" so to speak - stills from what happened when the main act fell off the dock while he was drunk, for example - and not a scene from the actual film. This made it a little bit confusing. The first shot was good however, but I think in the second the "Kung-Fu Maids" detracted from Phil and my eyes immediately crossed over to them.

Michele D: Noelle Winterton
Pose: 8/10
Creativity: 10/10
Advert Originality: 8/10
Outshine Factor: 4/5
Rules: 4/5
Total: 34/40
I LOVE how you've added little additions of evil looking tomatoes in the photos, particularly in the bag the man is holding in the park and most definitely the tomato in the police car! The expressions in the shots are very well used, from the crazed expression of Miss Hybrid to the man's terrified expression. It's the little touches that can really make a picture, so well done with that!

Deatherella's total is wrong for judge 1. It should be 33

EDIT: Actually, I only meant to take 2 points from outshine factor and not 3 so Deatherella's score should be 34.

I have a problem with this comments that I lost points because my Sim did not BE the diver, the police office etc...
As far as I understod it and in the explanation from Triana it never said that my Sim had to be the police officer and the hybrid. It said it had to be clear that I am the diver. And thats what I did...:-(

Quote:

You're right. It does add up to 33. Unless the scores numbers are incorrect. I'm sure TRIriana will straighten out.
Thanks for the comments, judges. In the ad, the Stanley Cup was that big -- I downloaded it here to use. And they did use those clips in the movie -- it was a low budget wonder so they didn't do more takes.

Aba23, TRIriana read all of the comments and scores before they were posted. The scores that were wrong she asked me to change so I believe that you were supposed to be those characters. If you were not supposed to actually be those characters then I will give you 2 points back for rule adherence.

Deatherella, if that's the case as far as the scenes being from the actual movie then I will be happy to give you the 3 points back. :D

Deatherella, your score has been amended and the points have been added back. :) Thank you for pointing out the descrepency!

Aba23

Now their budget is...slightly limited, so you'll have the opportunity to be in the background of three scenes in all. You'll be a different background person in each shot and these are as follows.

The bolded points are for extra clarification, your model was to portray each of the [bolded] people in the picture descriptions I gave. You did the diver correctly, but the other two you gave were incorrect.

Thanks. I thought you guys would catch on that they used those clips when the big star stomped off in a tantrum at the end because they made him look like a fool.

Thanks for the extra day.
I have a question for the next round, since some of my comments from the last round say that Phil gets lost in the shot, should I take some new pics and center them onto Phil (and somehow making it obvious he's on a stage)? I just want to do better and if I go by comments above, Phil is getting lost in all the action of the scene where the witches call forth apparations so that one would be already counting against me in that respect. Or should I go for the shots where the whole stage is showing? Just looking for some helpful hints of what you'll be looking for while I get my game fired up.

SolidGoldFunk84

I think your pictures are fine now... The props themselves aren't as big as Phil is on the stage so I think you're fine keeping the entire stage in view since that's what TRIriana wants for this round. I think one thing that might help though is centering the shots on the stage. So, instead of taking the shot from an angle, maybe you can take it straight on and still get the stage and lights in the picture.

I am really grateful for the extension and the wonderful comments! I haven't had time all week to work on this round - but I did manage to get some props and costumes downloaded. Newspapers do so much business right before Black Friday - its hard to keep up with all the ads and only work 8 hour days. So the last few days I have been doing 10's - I got off early tonight as we finished by 10pm this evening. I don't work Friday so I should have all night tonight and all day tomorrow to get my entry done.

Round 3 - Moving into Theatre

Shakespeare, Anyone? - The Tempest

For round 3 I was cast the lead roll of Ferdinand in the Shakespeare play, The Tempest. This was my golden opportunity to shine and I worked really hard to remember my lines and practice my acting abilities. Both Danielle and I performed in this play, she played Miranda while I played Ferdinand. I had no idea she was such an exquisite actress as well as a photographer. Below are a couple of photos that were taken of us on opening night as well as the lines that were spoken. I hope you enjoy viewing these photos from my scrapbook as much as I enjoyed being in them.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2545/4123462255_c7947c3555_o.jpg
Act I Scene II: Miranda sees Ferdinand for the first time.

PROSPERO: The fringed curtains of thine eye advance and say what thou seest yond.

MIRANDA: What is't? a spirit? Lord, how it looks about! Believe me, sir, it carries a brave form. But 'tis a spirit.

PROSPERO: No, wench; it eats and sleeps and hath such senses as we have, such. This gallant which thou seest was in the wreck; and, but he's something stain'd with grief that's beauty's canker, thou mightst call him a goodly person: he hath lost his fellows and strays about to find 'em.

MIRANDA: I might call him, a thing divine, for nothing natural I ever saw so noble.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2735/4124296408_1dfa5148bc_o.jpg
Act III Scene I - Ferdinand and Miranda speak of love with Prospero looking on, unseen.

FERDINAND: I am in my condition a prince, Miranda; I do think, a king; I would, not so!--and would no more endure this wooden slavery than to suffer the flesh-fly blow my mouth. Hear my soul speak: The very instant that I saw you, did my heart fly to your service; there resides, to make me slave to it; and for your sake am I this patient log--man.

MIRANDA: Do you love me?

FERDINAND: O heaven, O earth, bear witness to this sound and crown what I profess with kind event if I speak true! if hollowly, invert What best is boded me to mischief! I beyond all limit of what else i' the world do love, prize, honour you.

MIRANDA: I am a fool to weep at what I am glad of.

PROSPERO: Fair encounter of two most rare affections! Heavens rain grace on that which breeds between 'em!

So, I suppose your wondering why I chose to try out for The Tempest? Well, actually, I felt it was one of the least performed of Shakespeare's plays. I have seen countless re-enactments of Mid Summer's Night Dream and Romeo and Juliet. Of all of Shakespeare's plays, I knew the least about The Tempest. I really enjoy learning all I can about the great theatre masters, such as Shakespeare, so when the opportunity came about, I just jumped at the chance. I am most excited that Danielle is as interested in theatre as I am. It was a wonderful experience and I am ecstatic that I got to experience it with her. - FYI, at the cast party just after our successful opening night, I proposed to Danielle. I can't imagine spending the rest of my life without her - oh...and you must know, she happily accepted!

Lights! Camera! Action! - Swarm

My success on stage led to another roll, but this time it was on the big screen. I played lead detective, Barney Kline, in The Swarm. The movie is about the small town of Oak Cove being terrorized by a swarm of killer bees. Yeah, I know...Killer Bees! This movie is more of an intense action/drama than a horror flick and I really enjoyed filming...even if the director was a bit of a pushy jerk.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2751/4124654160_cd07ed0159_o.jpg

In this scene, Officer Barney Kline (played by Bailey Loftner) and his partner, Officer Joe Dawson, follow up on a report of a swarm of bees blocking the exits of the local diner - trapping employees and customers inside. Officer Joe checked out the cafe grounds to see if he could locate the bees, which seemed to be gone, while Officer Barney questioned the owner. He was a bit skeptical at first, as that is his true nature, but this guy was prepared with video surveillance footage of the swarm. When Barney radioed back to headquarters he wasn't surprised to hear that they were getting dozens and dozens of calls, all about the bees from all over town.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2758/4124654194_b1697d0627_o.jpg

Barney and Joe, his partner, check out a report of a death at the local park. They found the librarian with whelps all over her body. She leads them to her husband, who she met in the park for lunch. The swarm showed up and attacked them both. Lucky for her, her husband shielded her body with his, taking most of the stings. Unfortunately he wasn't so lucky, the stings were fatal for him. Just like all the times before, there was no sign of the bees, only the destruction left behind.

The one thing I didn't enjoy about this acting roll was that I had to gain some extra weight, Barney Kline was supposed to be pudgy. I wasn't too thrilled with that idea, but you do what it takes to become your character or you may not get the next roll. I am really glad the movie is over now...so I can get back on my exercise routine once again. Danielle was very supportive during the shooting of the movie. I just hope I can lose the weight now that the movie is over. It sure is amazing what length actors and actresses will do for their jobs.

Round Four
Such a Hectic Year!

It's now been a whole year since you initially started out with out ever-expanding agency, and you're just about to get the thing that you've been gleefully hoping for, for the last two months:

Getting Your Own Show

This is the list of television show genres to choose from. It's first come first serve, so no two people may have the same genre:

Soap Opera: Wndy26
Crime
Supernatural Style (Creature-feature such as Supernatural/Buffy-esque): Deatherella
Action
Lifestyle: Home Wgroome
Lifestyle: Cooking Aba23
Lifestyle: Holiday
Spy
Comedy
Romance
School Drama
Disney: Michele D
Fantasy
Science-Fiction
Historical

YOU are the focal point of the television show, and the cast can be ensemble or ever-changing from episode to episode. Apart from the set genre you choose, everything else is in your hands. It must not be a television show that is past or current, but something brand new.

Photographs

(a) One cast promo shot, with the name of your television show displayed somewhere.
(b) Two shot from actual scenes in your show
(c) One interview shot, with your star being interviewed about the television show.

Back to Modelling

This one is just as simple as it sounds! You've been given the opportunity of going "back to your roots" while your telelvision show is on hiatus - pesky union talks getting in the way of fame! But instead you have a special guest spot on fashion week. It's runway time!

Photographs

(a) One shot of your model on the runway - simple!

Writing
Give an overview of what your television show is about, what you think of the cast and how the audience has taken to it.

For the interview, write up a few questions and have your Star answer them, to accompany the interview picture.

And lastly, tell us what you thought of the runway - and if you will model more in the future, or stick to acting from now on.

I'll take Lifestyle, I think I've got a great idea for that! :)

PS. Trianna, whilst I am happy with my choice, it might be fairer on the people who get here later if you give, say, 10 choices. That way the person who is last here still gets a choice! Otherwise, they are just stuck with the last one, and it might be because of time zones or real life events that they are here last. Do you get me?

I disregarded all schoolwok and made it. Hope I can still post it? Then for the judges...I have three movie pictures - however the first one at the gallery is just for the story...

Shakespeare anyone - The Tempest

A drama, I would never have guessed to be in a Drama one day, and certainly not in a Shakespeare one. I who am the most uneducated person when it comes to Shakespeare got the chance to play in one. The only story I understood a bit was ‘The Tempest’ so I decided for this role.

Actually a very nice story a bit like Robinson Crusoe and Blue Lagoon I felt. However the text was damn difficult – who is talking like that??

Well in the first scene my Character is hearing music. It’s the singing of the spirit Ariel. I had to pretend that I could not see her behind all the plants but I had to play that I was wondering where the music was coming from.

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/Ferandariel_shakesplay.jpg

In the second scene I had to meet Miranda and talk to her while her father Propero’s was watching us, but unseen by me.

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/Shakesplay3.jpg

Lights! Camera! Action!

I feel that my career has really taken off as I received an offer for a leading role in a movie. It was a classical story however I loved to play it. Really I did. I play Tom Rutherford he is a wacky artist, but how wacky he is revealed later. Its a thriller, a shoker movie, nothing for weak nerves...

The story:
Tom Rotherford has an exhibition at the local art gallery. He is labeled as a wacky artist, but to the female population he is the man who has to be saved, fragile and vulnerable. At this exhibition Tom locates Alexa Beagle. They seem to like each other.
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/moviescene1.jpg

Tom invites Alexa to his home. They talk and Tom does everything to keep the picture of the lonely, misunderstood artist alive. Alexa is falling in love with him and trusts him without any doubt. Tom describes his dreams and wishes for the future and Alexa is head over heels for him.
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/moviescene2.jpg

At the end we see how wacky Tom really is. He traps Alexa in a house and watches her from outside – burning…..
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/abaer23/moviescene3.jpg (Hope you can see that in the window behind her you see his face and he is smiling)

wgroome, I know you are going to really do well this round. Especially if your going back to his roots as an architect, I remember your application was really well done.

aba23, I think you can do really well. Are you using the in-game camera for your pictures? If so, I think for this last round you should try using the Print Screen function on your computer. Sometimes the in-game camera doesn't exactly get what you wanted to capture so the subject of the pictures seem to appear farther away. When you use the print screen option you should get exactly what you want. All you would need to do is crop the image to get rid of the game window if you play in window mode. I really think you should try this because it makes a huge difference.

I'm not sure what Fraps is but, it doesn't seem to work that well. Luke is too far away in the pictures for your round 3. I know it's too late to try another alternative, I'm just letting you know for this round. I think for this round you should focus on your composition. This includes angles, props, lighting etc. There is a lot to be done with this round and I look forward to your improvement. :)

Maybe I reading this wrong AGAIN lol But first you say "YOU are the focal point of the television show" then you say "It must not be a television show" And what do you mean by " It must not be a television show that is past or current, but something brand new" Are you looking for something like future? If so, can you please explain what? I'm doing Disney, am I supposed to do something like the Jetsons lol Which is not Disney, just using it as an example! Please explain before I download anything else.

Michele, from my understanding, you must create a new TV Show meaning you cannot do a TV Show like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Mickey Mouse, etc. You must create something totally new for example, since you are doing Disney, you could have a show entitled Helena featuring Noelle as a new Disney Character that you've created. The premise of the show must be something that isn't out already. I hope that makes sense.

Solid is correct, Michele D. You must not do a television show that is currently on air in the real world. It has to be completely made up.

Solid, Fraps is a screen capture software and it works fine, I use it for my photos. The one thing I noticed about those shots are that they are sized too small - 500-ish by 300ish. The reason her shots were zoomed so far out is that she was trying to capture the stage in the photos to represent the theatre part of the requirements. I used spot lighting techniques to represent my stage rather than an actual stage in the photograph, Photoshop has great light rendering technqiues that you just can't get in game with the limited lighting options there.

Aba, one thing I noticed while using fraps is that my sims look elongated, which I think occurs because I have a wide screen monitor and my screen resolution and game resolution are different. I fixed this by shortening up my images in my image editor. I use photoshop, what do you use? So if your using photoshop, just choose scale and shorten up the height of the image until the faces look less elongated.

Solid is right about focusing on composition, that will improve your photos a great deal. Don't be afraid to zoom in, especially for the television show images. Watch a few shows on TV and pay attention to their level of zoom. Rarely do you see a full body shot when people are speaking.

Also, don't resize your images too small. We are no longer confined on MTS to small images, just a small file size. To adjust file size, adjust your level of compression for jpegs....photoshop gives you up to a 4-up view that shows your file size for each window in the 4-up.

If you still need to resize your image down, stick with making your width at least 800 if your going for a landscape shot and 800 for the length if your cropping for a portrait shot. You should not go over the file size limit using that method - I never have.

I'm not sure what Fraps is but, it doesn't seem to work that well. Luke is too far away in the pictures for your round 3. I know it's too late to try another alternative, I'm just letting you know for this round. I think for this round you should focus on your composition. Well I do have photoshop but I find it not userfriendly for me, I am using Gimp instead. I am resizing small since I think there was a limit of 600xsomething right? I will work on the closeups - thanks for that.

aba, I have been doing contests for too many years now lol I tried all those programs and even PSP and nothing ever worked! When I did it like that, my pictures always came out too jaggy, not so smooth edges! If you want, try what I do now. I use photobucked and find pics come more clear and size well. Pic size in 800x600 or 600x800. Use what you feel more comfortable with. Thanks wndy26 & SolidGold. My download folder is getting is full of junk I never downloaded before or need  But we gotta do what we gotta do. I think this is the last contest for awhile lol I'll see what I can come up with :|

Ah ok wndy, that seems to explain it better. If you're using FRAPS then of course it works well. aba, the image restriction used to be 800x800 but I think it's like wndy said it is now, without restrictions. At least I know it is for house pictures in the upload thread. Even if you do 800x800, that's still plenty of space to play around with. I can't wait to see what you come up with for this final round though. How are you with using GIMP? I've just recently gotten used to it and it seemed to me that photoshop was easier to use. I have picked up some great tricks along the way though so if you want some help with GIMP I can try to help you out as best as I can. I think if you follow wndy26's advice then your next round will be a very noticeable improvement. I can't wait to see your entry for this next round! Luke really does have star potential. :)

Just remember, there are no dimension restrictions, but there is still a file size restriction - I think its like 150 kb or 175 kb...not totally sure but if you stay under 150 you should be safe. I linked to it on one of these contests somewhere. :)

Round Three Scores

Judge One

Wgroome: Demetrios Rodos
Set Creativity: 9/10
Scene Creativity: 8/10
Pose: 8/10
Film Originality: 9/10
Overall: 8.5/10
Total: 42.5/50
Comments: This round was a major improvement from the last round! You've managed to really show Demetrios off and I also loved your storyline. I think you should have made the explanation for the movie like a quote from a trailer instead of a quote from Demetrios though. I can sort of imagine what the movie is about but, I'm not exactly sure that I would want to see it from your explanation. As far as the scenes, I like that you didn't use too many props and I can tell you tried to use the clothing style of that era. You did miss the explanation as to why you chose that particular play and that movie but, there isn't any deductions for rules this time so you're good. Overall, a very beautiful entry and such a great improvement. :)

Aba23: Luke Ster
Set Creativity: 6/10
Scene Creativity: 7/10
Pose: 7/10
Film Originality: 9/10
Overall: 7.5/10
Total: 36.5/50
Comments: I loved your movie idea but I think you gave too much away by telling us that the scene with the fire is of from the end of the movie. For your play scenes, there didn't seem to be much thought put into the set designs. It seems that you really did try to portray the scenes you said you were but it was just not executed that well. For next round, I think you should follow wndy's advice and don't be afraid to zoom! We don't always have to see Luke's full body because that's not how all shots are taken in real life. Also, you should determine what you will need for each round so, if that means you have to download stuff to get your idea going in-game then I think you should. A good thing to do for contests, if you know you aren't going to use the props again, you can create a folder in downloads labeled the contest you are downloading the stuff for and delete the folder when you're done. I can tell you are very creative, I just think you need to focus on getting your creativity to translate to your pictures.

Wndy26-Bailey Loftner
Set Creativity: 10/10
Scene Creativity: 10/10
Pose: 10/10
Film Originality: 8/10
Overall: 9.5/10
Total: 47.5/50
Comments: Your scenes from the play were done so beautifully! In the first shot, I loved the enclosed feeling of a theater that you managed to present. I was a little disappointed with the shots from the movie though. I think you should have photoshopped some bees into the scenes so that we could really get a feel for the movie. Your scene descriptions had me wanting to look for the movie ASAP! Overall, great job!

Deatherella: Phil McCracken
Set Creativity: 9/10
Scene Creativity: 9/10
Pose: 8/10
Film Originality: 6/10
Overall: 8/10
Total: 40/50
Comments: You've done a great job on your pictures this round. For the first two pictures though, I don't think Phil's expression ties into what's going on. In the second picture, the dead guy doesn't look dead at all... he looks like he's sunbathing or something. I docked major points from film originality though because the movie was kind of done already (Tales from the Darkside). Had it just been a book that you decided there was going to be a movie for then I think that would have been a great idea! Overall, your entry was really well done, thought out and executed.

Michele D: Noelle Winterton
Set Creativity: 10/10
Scene Creativity: 6/10
Pose: 6/10
Film Originality: 6/10
Overall: 7/10
Total: 35/50
Comments: Noelle is no doubt a beautiful girl however, you are focusing too much on the modeling aspect and not really on the acting portion. This round was strictly acting so, there should not have been anything "posey" or "modelly" about it. Your Midsummer's Nights Dreams photos are absolutely gorgeous! They are my favorite pictures this round but, she doesn't seem to be acting in either one. There isn't much diversity in your pictures either. This goes for the pics from the play as well as the pics from the movie. You definitely put a lot into your scenery, wardrobe, make-up and composition but you do not seem to grasp the tasks. Don't be afraid to let Noelle out of her comfort zone. She is too beautiful to be ugly no matter what she does! Overall I think you need to put more effort in your text, the tasks for the round and do not be afraid of Noelle taking a bad picture because that is absolutely not possible. Take some major risks this next round and try to focus on acting where you're supposed to be acting... this means facial and body expressions should be present.

Judge Two

Wonderful shots for the witches, and I particularly like the angle in which you took the MacBeth shot - nice touch! Your pictures for the movie were nice, but the movie choice itself was not too original. Still, overall you did a wonderful job.

Aba23: Luke Ster
Set Creativity: 6.5
Scene Creativity: 7
Pose: 6.5
Film Originality: 8
Overall: 7.5
Total: 35.5
I really like the fact that the scenes are very obviously taking part on a stage, however it would have been nice to get a little closer to the actual actors. It's difficult to see expression when the zoom is so far out. Your first two movie pictures are rather ordinary, but the third shot makes up for that a little. It's a great twist at the end, to make the movie different and it's that type of originality that we're looking for.

Wndy26: Bailey Loftner
Set Creativity: 7.5
Scene Creativity: 7.5
Pose: 7
Film Originality: 6.5
Overall: 8
Total: 37
Your set is great, I really liked that and there is detail in the background too, which is a nice touch. I like the lighting touch to the second shot, and the leaning in kiss is very sweet. Prospero though, is very visible so it's quite a contrast to the "unseen" description. Kudos to the scene descriptions though, as they really add something! Your second movie picture is very nifty, I like it. An all round cool entry.

Deatherella: Phil McCracken
Set Creativity: 7.5
Scene Creativity: 7
Pose: 7
Film Originality: 8
Overall: 7.5
Total: 37
I really like your two sets, and the addition of theatre lighting - great touch! MacBeth's expression though is all wrong for this scene, I think. He looks too happy for what the scene is actually all about. In the second scene, Siward looks to be relaxing back enjoying the sun as opposed to dying. The detail in your first movie picture is great though, it's very crisp and the idea for the movie is quite interesting!

Michele D: Noelle Winterton
Set Creativity: 9
Scene Creativity: 7.5
Pose: 8
Film Originality: 7.5
Overall: 7.5
Total: 38
Your photos are very picture-esque and very nice to look at! I would have liked to see more expression in Noelle's face though, and without descriptions to explain what's going on in the two scenes, any story is lost. Bonnie and Clyde is an interesting choice of film, and not one that I have seen done before. While the poses are good, they are very similar. It's a gangster style movie and an action scene would have been nice.

Judge Three

Wgroome: Demetrios Rodos
Set Creativity: 8
Scene Creativity: 7.5
Pose: 7.5
Film Originality: 4
Overall: 7
Total: 34
I like your entry- the MacBeth shots were well thought out, although I thought the clothing could have been better chosen- it didn't really scream MacBeth on the main character. It was a little generic. The witches, however, were excellently done, and I enjoyed the background. The film choice, although the shots were good, I felt was somewhat lacking. It was a romance movie, and the plot wasn't particularly original. I can think of eight other movies with the exact same idea of 'Guy moves to city to do new job and falls in love with female co-worker who he shouldn't be dating, and it is funny.' Overall, a pretty good entry, but the movie choice seriously let you down.

Aba23: Luke Ster
Set Creativity: 6

Set's pretty good, but I think the layout of scenes were a little bland for The Tempest. Okay, but it could have been sharper and more intense. The poses seem a little awkward. The film however, completely makes up for this. At first, I thought you'd just gone for a generic romance, but scrolling down to the final shot and finding out you'd decided to make him a serial killer was a great idea. Overall, I think your placement needs a little work, but the entry's definitely not bad. :)

Wndy26: Bailey Loftner
Set Creativity: 8
Scene Creativity: 8
Pose: 7
Film Originality: 7
Overall: 7.5
Total: 37.5
I like the sharpness of your set, and the isolation it implies. You've clearly put a lot of thought into your choice of pose, and it shows, but Prospero just appears to be a bit blank in the background of your second shot. More expression would have been nice. Your film- Killer Bees are okay, and the first shot is a bit bland, but your second is utterly hilarious, so that completely makes up for it. Overall, a solid entry that only needs minor tweaking to be perfect.

Deatherella: Phil McCracken
Set Creativity: 7
Scene Creativity: 7
Pose: 7
Film Originality: 8
Overall: 7
Total: 36
While your set does look rather good, it felt somewhat cliche and over the top for MacBeth. Also, his expression in the first one seems rather too enthusiastic for the madness of the scene. The murdered Siward also looks somewhat too happy for a guy who's just been stabbed to death. Liked your film choice, although it looks like the cat's trying to burrow into his ear rather than attack him at the end. On second thought, that might be more disturbing, if I didn't know that's not what happens in the story. :P

Michele D: Noelle Winterton
Set Creativity: 9
Scene Creativity: 8
Pose: 8
Film Originality: 6
Overall: 7
Total: 38
Your set is fantastic, although it would be nice to see Noelle with more of an expression on her face- it looks a bit like she's zoned out in the middle of saying her lines. However, the layout is beautiful. Your film would have gotten a better mark if you'd done something a bit more interesting with Bonnie and Clyde instead of just two shots of them near the car- what about a shoot-out, or a bank heist? The two of them just sat there twice doesn't really feel like a shot from a movie. Pretty good even so, but it just doesn't have that cohesion to finish it off and cement it as a movie scene.

After making a few movies, I got the most "spooktacular" tv show offer! I, now, have my own weekly reality show of Haunt Sweet Haunt where I and my guest stars: Gothika, Disturbia and Erratika Fahrquarson all live in an old abandoned haunted house. The girls are great -- you never know how they'll react to any given situation when those ghosties get moving.

The Interview

http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii217/deb666/Sims%202%20Rising%20Star%20Contest/PMcC-R4-4-1.jpg

A couple weeks after my new show started, I had an interview with Don Hopesquisher. Man! That dude was just nasty!
"So, how are you using bluescreens or holocasts . . . to protray those ghosts?"
"The ghosts are real, man. It's all on the up and up."
"Now, you don't really expect the viewing public to believe that, do you?"
"Yes, I do. The ghosts are real." . . .

On the Runway

It'd been so long since I had done any modelling, I almost forgot how to walk the runway the night I helped out at H & M's fashion week showing. But, in the end I think I did rather well and it was fun to get back to my "roots" in the industry.

Help My Home!
http://i47.tinypic.com/2rop3s0.jpg

"Help My Home" is the brand new hit lifestyle show of 2009. Architect and all-round everythinger Demetrios Rodos (from the summer smash movie "Coming Up Next") helps people get their homes to suit the people that live in them! Audiences throughout the country (with the first episode pulling a massive 7 million viewers!) are tuning in every Thursday night to see how Demetrios will apply his unqiue touch to both peoples' houses and their lives."

:alarm: *PS: I cannot write about the cast, as I'm sure you can understand there is no cast for a show like this...
TRIriana, is this a problem and will I be marked down for this? :alarm:

Janet: Hi, Janet Arkwright here for Radio 3 with the most popular man of the moment, Demetrios Rodos! How are you today?
Dem: Hi Janet! I'm good thanks!
Janet: So, let's how did you get involved in HMH?
Dem: Well, before I began my work in modelling and acting, I had a real passion for building and was actually an architect. When I got the call to do this new show I jumped at the chance!
Janet: And what do you do, then?
Dem: Every episode, I help people who can't afford to move discover the potential in their house... for example, the Hamiltons, who we are shooting now need to renovate their house as they've got a little one on the way!
Janet: And how's it going?
Dem: As you can see we're down here in the garage to get away from all the noise - or progress, yeah, let's be positive! We're really working hard to give them a nursery for their new arrival!

Modelling

http://i50.tinypic.com/5fmzyg.jpg

"Working at fashion week was amazing... I got to model in part of this great new collection... it's a maritime set by Sophia Delmar, one of the newest and most talked about designers at this year's show. Going out in just a pair of pants and a sailor's hat wasn't something I expected I'd ever do in my life, but it was really good fun. The runway was amazing, Sophia got a giant aquarium to bring it alive - it was very unoriginal, but very Sophia! I just hope the clothes were as vibrant and exiting as the fish! I do love modelling, but I am so looking forward to start reshooting Help My Home, I think the show has such potential and it really changes peoples' lives... it's a great feeling."

I might not be able to finish this round. Some personal things came up and one of my brothers are in the hospital. What a week! And work is going to be very busy for the next four days! I'm going to try and go in game soon and try and finish all five pictures in one night!! This should be lots of fun :anime:

Michele, I kind of figured you were more into the modeling contests. Your pictures were more than gorgeous each and every round. I know if you were in a modeling contest, you would stomp it! I understand that certain contests are for certain people but, I do hope that you will be able to finish your round 4 but, above all, I hope your brother gets better soon. :)

It seems that people have lost interest in this contest. Is anyone else going to turn in their round 4?

Not only are you so very sweet, but VERY sharp also! I figured you would notice lol As you can see most of my pictures are model poses, thats all I know lol NOT enough action going on in my pictures, I know this and so did the judges! I have a zillion downloads in my file waiting to see what to do with them. Yes, I have lost interest, but not because of the host or people in here. I have no idea what I'm doing  I will see what I can do with what I have downloaded. I should have read contest more clearly, but I didn't. Thanks you very much for your kind words :)

Oh ok wndy, I look forward to your entry. :)

Michele I know exactly how you feel though, because I was about to join too but after entering the Next Top Model contest which really should be about modeling, I was a bit wary of entering another competition here in the "beauty" category. After the application round I realized that it wasn't really a modeling competition at all. One judge kept giving me low scores without explaining why and the only reason I didn't drop out was because I wanted to host a contest here.

The scores and comments that are posted are from me and I actually felt bad about yours because I loved all of your pictures but I thought it would be unfair to base your score solely on your pictures when most of the other contestants did what was asked for the round. I don't know where the other scores and comments are but they may feel differently than I did. I think you can still succeed in this competition though. You can still use poses but I think you should try using the poses for specific categories. Your last round with Noelle as the Killer Tomato had great action and you could tell what she was doing there. I think you just need to do that for the scenes for this round and it will be perfect! I hope that makes sense. You only need 3 pictures with some kind of action, one is the interview which is fairly easy, and the other 2 are scenes from your show. The runway and promo shot seems that you could make them "modelly." If you look at promo shots of casts from television shows today most of them are posing and the runway shot is right in your element!

It's A Flowers Life
Promo Shot:
Here we are posing for the promo shot. It was supposed to be on an island far far away! Where flowers are half human. I think the outfits were very cute, but very tight! I could hardly catch my breath. It's a cute little fantasy Disney thought up as usual. I remember watching all the Disney movies as a child. Actually, I still love watching them! I take my little cousins to most of the Disney movies, good excuse for me to see them also! The flower people take you on a journey that you could laugh or cry! You will see all the danger, fun and love they give to others. How can a flower not make you happy. :bunny:
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z63/mish852/10.jpg
Scene 1~
In this scene, we are doing our quiet sunday thing. As you can see, some like to read, some like to eat sweets, others water the flowers and I did what I like to do most, paint. After we were done, we all ate the wonderful cakes and tea this awsome bakery had delivered for this part of the movie. They are just a very happy bunch of flowers. Living basically like a flower or human would. Don't miss it, you'll enjoy the movie!
http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z63/mish852/poopeee.jpg
Scene 2~
This was a little scary! I know they weren't real bugs and things, but they did look so real! I have a fear of bugs so thats probably why lol I didn't dare let on, but they could probably see it in my expression on my face! However, we had to look afraid. So I think I did pretty good with that one. When night falls, the poor flowers always have to watch out for danger! You will see animated bugs, frogs etc all wanting to have them for supper! But they always manage to get away! Some times a few don't make it!

Interview:
The interview went pretty well, I think. He asked me a lot of questions and I was glad to answer them. He was kind of cute too, except, he had very big ears. A really sweet guy
Host~ So Noelle, how did it feel playing the part of a flower in a fantasy movie?
Noelle, Oh it was great! All the fantastic makeup and the cute little outfits. I just totally enjoyed it all
Host~Do you think you will be doing anymore movies in the future?
Noelle, I'm not really sure. I would have to see what is offered to me. Right now I miss my family and plan to take a long vacation with them all.
Host~ Do you think the movie was a success. I hear it hit the top ten in the ratings.
Noelle~ Yes I believe it is! I mean I haven't really seen a Disney movie that wasn't. I was honored to play in a Disney movie. And had fun doing it too.
Host~ It was a pleasure meeting you and I wish you luck in whatever you continue to do in your life.
Noelle~ Thank you all very much! It was a great honor.

Modeling:
I was pretty tired at this point! I was getting so use to playing parts, that I almost forgot how to model! So much water, I was soak and wet from head to toe. You could hear my boots squeak when I walked! I took a very long hot bath and rested awhile before the party. It was fun, but I felt I could have done better.
