View Full Version : Stand Alone Sims 3 Patches

I do not have the Sims 3 game yet, nor do I have a PC that will even run it. Next year I plan on buying a new gaming PC. Before I do this though, I'd like to have ALL the Sims 3 Patches saved on a CD-Rom, so I can simply install them after installing the game.

After reading through some of the posts here and on other web sites, it looks like the Sims 3 is a nightmare! I am hoping that someone could tell me exactly how to make my idea work? I have some restrictions though.

I only have dial-up 56k Internet here, and won't be able to get high speed for years to come. This means I won't be able to use the in game Patch feature. This is also why I want stand-alone downloadable Patches for my future Sims 3 game. It also means I must get them from web sites that won't "time out" during my download, as I've noticed some of these patches to be almost 100mb, which will take about 8 hours to download to my PC.

I have already downloaded and saved the latest patch v1.4, but have been unsuccessful trying to obtain any others because the downloads time out due to their large file size. My download manager doesn't seem to be helpful, as most web sites aren't supporting "resume." What else do I need to do?

Thanks.
