Before World Adventures and Patchs, when ever you seem to make different wall hieghts, a floating tile would apperer.
If you only have The Sims 3:
1.) Delete a small 1X1 tile wall away.
2.) Put in a fence that happens to go with the house and tada! :)
If you have World Adventures and Updated Patch:
1.) Lower the selected wall to the certain hieght.
2.) With the update, the floating tile disapears! :D
If you have High-End Loft and current patch then you have no worrys. Hope that help!
