I'm currently making a couple of Sims 2 movies and have seen other Sims videos that employ this smooth camera technique which looks really professional - you know, when camera pans smoothly across a scene or combines panning with zooming in. Does anyone know how this can be achieved? Is special video software required? I looked for tutorials online but couldn't find anything.

Hi!

I think what you are describing is called "cameraman mode" and you can enable this by pressing tab. You can then control using the cursor keys or w,a,s and d, moving the focus area by moving the mouse, adjusting camera hight with z and x and then zooming with q and e. (NOTE; I may have mixed the last two up, I haven't used it in quite a while =D)

Happy Simming/ movie making! =)

There is also another way... just say you want to move the camera from one point to another... what you do is move the camera so it is at it's starting point, then press "ctrl+4." then move it to the final postition and press "ctrl+5", then press "4" now start filming by pressing "v" and then press "5" the camera will move to the postition that it was at when you pressed ctrl+5, if it goes to fast... simply go into windows movie maker, imovie, etc. and slow it down a bit :) hope that helps

I'm talking about Sims 2 First Person Cameras here...

Right, I think you know about video sequencing (Using CameraMan mode and then moving to different positions) but you said you wanted it slow, like in Hollywood.
Well here's the one I use:

:here: Be sure to pick the FASTER one! The 'slow' one is way too slow, you can have a video to see how the really slow one is, I personally think it is way too slow, and VERY fiddly.
So pick the faster one and you have a choice of either .zip or .rar, really hope I helped,
