installation issues

I just got a new laptop with windows 7 and am having a problem installing my sims 2 deluxe game. When i put in the disc it does not auto play so i tried finding the installer on the disc. I am not completely sure what exactly i am looking for on the discs but have searched the discs for anything labeled setup or installer and havent found it. I tried installing another game and it didnt auto play but i was able to find the installer.exe and it has installed fine. I have seen that other people are able to play it on windows 7 so if anyone can help me out here i could really use it since i am out of town 5 days out of the week i really need something to do in my downtime and sims2 is my top choice since i dont needd internet for it.

I do appologize if this has been brought up already i tried skimming the forums and the issues i have seen are not exactly the same as mine. :cry:

Since it's not just your Sims disc that didn't auto play, it sounds like Auto Play isn't turned on. To turn it on, click on Control Panel, then All Control Panel Items. You'll see Auto Play- you can check "Use Auto play for all..." or you can pick and choose- there is a software and games section to choose what you want to happen when you put the disc in.

wow i feel dumb lol ty very much. that seemed to be the problem
