TS1 Genie vs TS2 Genie

Which Genie do you prefer?
The Sims one Genie who appears everyday when you clean the buyable lamp.

The Sims two Genie who appears once you are given a lamp...


for me I prefer both since the Sims 1 Genie does have a sense of humour while the Sims 2 Genie has very nice wishes that doesn't seem as life threatening.

Personally, I think that they both have their pros and cons. TS1 genie was easier to get, but there weren't as many wish choices available as the genie in TS2. While the genie was funnier in TS1, the fact that his wishes ALWAYS ended badly REALLY annoyed me, and cleaning up the messes he made got old REALLY quickly. As for the TS2 genie, well, quite honestly he's really boring (then again, I don't think any of my sims have ever wished for anything when they weren't in either gold or platinum states, so the wishes always went well), and I've found that his best use is just to provide free money for fortune sims. It seems like taking either extreme (entirely benevolent or mischevious and slightly evil) results in an annoying character.

I never played enough of Sims 1 to meet the genie, but I must say I do like it when the genie visits in Sims 2. Ok he's a tiny bit dull and doesn't stick around for a natter and a cup of tea, but permanent platinum aspiration and some 30,000 simoleans? I wouldn't turn him away. :)

I like the animation effects too.
