Hey all, I'm new here, so first of all, let me say if this is the wrong forum to post this in, please point me in the right direction...
I've been looking for a simple to use (VERY simple to use) program that I can create my own careers with for The Sims 3. I saw one on a dif website but what the guy said looked like a foreign language... didn't understand one bit... (It WAS English, just really complicated for me to understand... Just got out of high school, and never took a computer class of any type...)
Basically, I just want to know what should I use to create my own careers, where to get it, how to use it, and then how to add the career to the game (I have Base Game, WA, Ambitions, and High End Loft Stuff)?
I have everything planned out, except for a few minor adjustments, just need the program to put it all together and work...
Thanks Guys, ANy help appreciated!

I suppose you looked here: http://ts3.tscexchange.com/index.php?topic=2639.0 ? Well, there's no other way to make a custom career for now. So if you can't understand this, you can't make a career. But maybe you should read this first, it could help you better understanding the tutorial: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorial:Sims_3_XML_Tuning_Modding

(Edited to remove my link - Alek's link is a more updated version of the tutorial)
Doing an XML tuning mod tutorial first is probably a good idea - I have one under my profile (click on Articles, should be toward the top). You'll need to use s3pe. It's pretty easy to use once you get going - if you get stuck, ask -specific questions- on what part you're stuck on and people can help you. It's not super uber omg fall off a log simple, but if you're capable of reading and understanding directions - and asking questions when you don't understand something, you should do just fine.

It shouldn't, but if you're really attached to your sims, you should get in the habit of backing up your game regularly anyway: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Back_Ups

This is not a modding question :) Questions about installing mods should go in the Help Section.
The information on how to install mods in the current version of the game is here: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:Installing_Package_Files

Just read that guide in Srikandi's post and you don't need Delphy's Monkey.

No, it doesn't."

You don't need the Helper Monkey if your game is patched. Install CC manually as it says to do in the FAQs.

so just go ahead and install the other stuff, just not the helper monkey?

Like HystericalParoxysm and I said: no, you don't need it. Why would you even consider downloading it if you already know how to install CC?

Everything about installing CC is explained in the Help FAQs - if you continue to have questions about installing or using CC, please ask in the Help section. Let's keep this thread to questions about creating custom careers.

Browse to \Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\Gameplay\
Im not finding this.. there is no Game\Bin\Gameplay in my Sims 3 folder...
like i said, im not good with the pc, does anyone have a chat program we can talk on, so i dont have to wait a day for each response? i wanted to make a career 3 days ago... by the time i finally get one, ill be 30... and im 18 now...

There's a #create chat under the Community dropdown (Live Chat) - I think you need to look again though. There -is- a Game\Bin\Gameplay folder in your Sims 3 folder under Program Files. You're probably looking under Documents.
No idea why you'd be getting that error though.

Possibly, but if your game's still working, then it has to be installed. Try right-clicking on the shortcut for the game on your Desktop and do "Open File Location" - if you don't have that option, then do Properties and Find Target. That should put in you in Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\

Hang on a tick. Are you on Windows or Mac? And if you're on Windows, what version?
ETA: I ask because if you're on a Vista, your game is most likely installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\, which is a separate folder from C:\Program Files on Vista. Ditto on Windows 7.
