Every dress mesh I've made when combining the top to the bottom have all had this weird line along the join. It looks broken. I've tried everything I know how to fix it. The top part of the mesh is a xhi res mesh by Warlokk, and the bottom is a game mesh. I have combined these types of meshes before with no problem, but in the dresses lately there has been a problem.

I joined the meshes with Extended Manual Edit, then aligned normals, lastly I fix underweighted bones. I've rebuilt the meshes from scratch and still nothing helps. In Milkshape it doesn't show, nor does it show if you F6 in Bodyshop.

I'm attaching pictures to illustrate.

Looks like a bone issue. It's not necessarily a matter of underweighted bones. The bones weights have to be the same on both pieces, or you'll get that line. Use the bone tool to match them up, or align the vertices using the Vertex Data Merge plugin (that will copy all the information, including bone weights and assignments).

Thanks FP7, I used that along the join and nothing happened to the break. I don't know what else to try. I've never used the bone tool, tonight maybe a good time to try it.

Never mind, the Vertex Data Merge worked this time. Thanks so very much. I was pulling out hair.
