Yes, you should have backed your game up, since uninstalling erases all user data, including your downloads and saves. If you have no copies of anything in your downloads folder, for instanced, you're basically out of luck. Did that answer your problem?

If you don't have a backup, then there's nothing that you can do.
Re-download everything that you want. Start a new game.

Reinstalling is probably not necessary yet.
Game Help:Game Problem
First, try every step there, in order. If you've tried that, please explain exactly what you did, in your own words, not just "I've tried all that," but a summary of the steps - people usually forget something.

:help: okay, the bad thing is, i didnt know about all this when i noticed the problem.
i stupidly just un installed it without researching..
so when i un installed it, i lost everything which is okay..
but i didnt find out the problem which is not.
so i installed it again and tried many different things such as:
getting updates for all expansion packs, downloading a program to update my driver and such, going through EVERY single folder on my computer to find things i have downloaded but saved in random spots, deleting the "catche" files iv been reading about, un installing and re installing about 3 times and im pretty sure thats all... iv been trying for 3 days to get it working and i just run out of ideas!!!

Just out of curiosity, how long are you waiting for the Sims 2 to start up?
ebbyx
15th Dec 2010, 05:00 AM
well as son as a click on the icon, the little "sims 2" think pops up for about.. 10 seconds and the driver loads then stops ater 10 seconds

Could you give a little more detail? We need to know exactly what you did and what the result was, to be able to give you advice. Otherwise, our response would have to be that there is no solution!
