View Full Version : No Ambitions traits and broken Create-a-Sim?!

I have looked around extensively but have so far been unable to find a fix for my problem.
I have The Sims 3 World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night and the two stuff packs and have patched to version 6.1
I have the World Adventures traits Adventurous, Disciplined and Photographer's Eye (I also have a weird MUMMY CUT?? trait that does nothing, as far as I'm aware) but I do not have any new Ambitions or Late Night traits. I have no mods installed (I had the Hidden Traits mod but removed it in the hope of getting the traits. It didn't work.) and I have some custom content installed, mainly hair and clothes.
My other problem is with Create-a-Sim. I am unable to change age and gender, etc, and also do not have the new breast or muscle definition sliders. I have removed sliders that I had previously, but they still haven't appeared. I don't know how to fix it! I also have a shading problem in Create-a-Sim where the Sims skintone appears much darker than it actually is. I thought it was a shading problem but I've tried lots of different settings and it hasn't helped.
Argh! Somebody help me!

I also forgot to mention that I can't discover the traits of other Sims.. I have around four Sim best friends currently and don't know the traits of any of them!

you may want to do a complete reinstall. sometimes these games bork for no apparent reason.
Do a backup of your mod folder and saved files onto your desktop then purge the whole game from your hard drive and reinstall. make sure you do it in the right order or somethings wont show. For example, you cant install late night before ambitions or the game will bork again.
If it runs properly from there, try putting your mod folder back in. If its still ok, try the saves. Hopefully your saves arent corrupted.
If the saves are causing the error to happen again, youll have to start fresh without them.
If the reinstall itself didnt fix anything, im at a loss. Usually starting from scratch fixes most issues.

Discussion - Sims 3 Game Problem
Remember, as the message said that displayed before you posted your thread...

If you're having any problem, issue, error, or glitch with your game, that's a job for MTS's Help section. There's both articles with common issues as well as Q&A support forums where you can ask questions and get specific help.

Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problem

Try that first - every step, in order, and don't skip anything! Even if it doesn't say your specific problem, try it anyway, as it's a good starting point to rule out the most common causes of game issues.

If you still have trouble, you can post a new thread in the Help Q&A forums. There's a link to the Help Q&A forums at the top of every FAQ in the Help section. If you do post there, make sure to read and follow the directions that will display before you post there!

Good luck, and happy simming! :)

Don't panic! There's no need to reinstall! All of these are errors caused by out of date CC, except the learning traits one, which was fixed in a patch. :)
