Moving elevator in high rise

I have been working to remake the penthouse in the Tidewater and I hate where there elevator is located. I only want to move it a couple squares forward.

I was wondering if I move the elevator in the lobby and the one in the penthouse if it is still going to work properly or am I going to muck it up and have to start over.

BTW: My sim has not moved into the building yet, that way I can rip out neighbor doors and other stuff.

You need to move any elevators or shaft piecies on the other floors too, but as long as they all align the elevator will work. (It may even work if they aren't aligned, using "moveobjects" like with the chimney pieces, but I haven't tried that yet, so I'm not sure.)
