Hey guys! I need help with a small starter home I plan to upload.
I plan on keeping it unfurnished for budget reasons, I'm sure it would be hard enough as it is to save up for a fully furnished house. And I also thought of how people would like their house too. c:
The house has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a one car garage, a living room area and a kitchen area.
The lot size is 30x30 and the total of the house is §16,931.
Thanks guys! :giggler:

The roof could be a bit more interesting and/or shorter. Based on your EPs, you should have some cheats to help you with that.
Some of the rooms seem a bit blocky to me. It's okay to have a "Master bedroom" which is larger, but bedroom size looks somewhat large to me. Even if you're going to leave it unfurnished, place a bed temporarily to get an idea of how big it needs to be. Freeing some grid space will allow more room for a living area in the main area.
It's not a bad start, but it's missing something. A hook or a novelty that would make me say something like "Oh, I like the way kitchen leads to a covered patio." :)

Thanks a ton for the useful feedback, it helped a lot to make the house look even.
Okay so... I changed the roof, made the rooms smaller, and I also added tile to the kitchen area to add homeyness. c:
this is how it looks so far:

For a start the idea is good and there is still a but to it. First it would be good if you show some bigger pictures so that it enable us see the over all building. Second please show the over head shots with the walls up. Apart from this, I believe that the building still needs improvement. I should lover the roof height and try to make the different designs blend with one another. Also it would be good if you pt some furnitures in the house, add some outdoor mapping like trees and flowers. With this done people will have a good point of reference to help you improve on your building. Also show pictures of the exterior from all sides since it helps also. One more thing though, What is the size of the lot?

Yea, furnishing may be a good idea, but lets not put the cart before the horse, eh?
Before you start adding all kinds of stuff, you need to make sure the structure is right so you won't have to do double the work.
You house still seems very blocky to me and it still lacks the pop.
Feedback wise, I would say that your roof pitch still needs lowered with the cheat. Maybe to 30 or so? The interior is looking better.
Here are some links to 3 of my favorite starter homes. they each have their own style and point that draws me into them
This one has a cute front porch and something as small as a portion of the wall to make it pop.

This one is tall and has a nice beachy, lived in, comfortable look:

And this one has the large windows and tower on top:

Now, I am not saying that you should copy these, but take a look and see why they are different. How they stand out etc. It may help you decide in what direction you want to go. Looking at pictures of real houses may help you as well.
adonispluto, they already said it was 30x30.

Thanks Vampire_of_Death. :3 The house references gave me all kinds of ideas!
Okay so here is the house redone, I added a front porch and I changed the pattern on it to give it some liveliness so it isn't so "dead".

Also, if I were to furnish it, how could I furnish it without going over §20,000? That's always been an issue for me... :\

It looks better but it's still too big. You're going to have trouble furnishing it :/

I'm starting to think that maybe it shouldn't be a starter...
-shrugs- It would simmer things down a bit.

I don't think 3x3 is a good size for a starter, I always use 2x3 or 3x2 (even 3x1 is OK, I had an apartment that big). Try to move in a family and see if the house is too empty or not.
The bathroom is 5x5, and bedroom is 5x8? O_O It's OK when you're combining the bedroom with a study, but even so it's not necessarily that big. 3x4 would be OK with a bathroom plus shower.
The hallway is too wide. Maybe you should reduce it by 3 tiles and add some lanscaping outside to make it up. That would be nice ;)

Well, 3x3 fit on nicely, and yeah. I'll post pictures once I get enough changes going on. :B

The only thing I have to say: The roofs don't connect on the right side :3

what Zandvoort was saying is that the top right roof in post 4 picture is not aligned to the back roof and need to be adjusted

Additionally you should paint the foundation differently from the wall. :D

The stone wall side I feel needs a feature window, either a row of three in the middle or make it a bay window, just so its not just a straight wall. I like that you are going for two different colours on the walls but just dont feel they match, keep the stone and maybe go for a lighter stucco instead of the white. The roof is still bugging me, I think its the colour, maybe try a darker one. Can we see a pic of the back too?
