View Full Version : Re-installed the base game and all expansions, but there are no Sims in-game...

Hey all, I've come back after a long absence because of this.

I got a new laptop which is more than qualified to run the game, still smelling of the shop etc etc so there are no technical issues with running the game. It loads really quickly and runs on highest settings with no lag.

But the game has installed with NO pre-made Sims in Bridgeport. That's the only neighbourhood I've tried so far but I'm pretty sure that none of them have any Sims in apart from possibly the base-game neighbourhood, because in the Sim-bin there are the homeless Sim families that come with the base game, so it might be safe to assume that the base game has installed properly. There are no Sims in the sim-bin that come with the other expansions.

I tried going on EA customer support live chat, but the "human" I was chatting to sent me the same help link 3 times - ..for what to do if I install a Sim from the store and it doesn't appear. Eventually she suggested I re-install the whole thing, I think. Not sure really what she said, as her English skills were similar to that of the Nigerian who keeps trying to give me several million pounds.

Games Installed : Base, Late Night, Ambitions, World Adventures.

No CC, No store items. Completely virgin game.

Edit: I brought WA from Amazon, but they sent me the Asian version of the game so I had to download it from online which took several hours because of my rubbish university internet. I'm loathe to re-install everything again unless it's necessary.

Sorry to bump but it's still happening and can anyone help?

I've tested all neighbourhoods and NONE of them have Sims in the neighbourhood. I installed my old saves from my old laptop and they're all intact - neighbourhoods are full including pre-made sims and my own. But whenever I try to create a new 'hood - any of them - there are no Sims.

Please help! :(

Anyone? :( Don't make me use EA they're absolutely rubbish.

I've never heard of an issue like this before. Have you tried using a custom pre-populated world (an actual pre-popped world - not a world which also comes with a savegame that contains sims)? If that works, it sounds like the basegame worlds got corrupted somehow - if not, though, then I really don't know what could be happening.

I've had this issue and I found out that the game started in tutorial mode. Once I turned that off, I got my existing families back.

Mine started in tutorial mode but I selected "exit tutorial", should that have worked? Or do I have to go in settings? Might try it...

That worked for me, yes.
