View Full Version : Courtyard walls turn dark

I'm having a peculiar issue while trying to build a courtyard for one of my lots. On the second and third levels, the outside walls that face the courtyard are darker than the first level. They are shadowy, like not enough light is not reaching them for some reason. I think it has something to do with the floor and roof tiles covering the second and third floor galleries, but I don't know why this would effect the outer wall. And why do I not have this problem on the 1st level? At this point, I am out of ideas. I've fiddled with it as much as I can.

I included some screen shots for better clarification. The second one is actually of a smaller courtyard I built as part of the same lot, and it does not have this problem at all. I'm very confused! If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

I have a couple of ideas ... I had a problem with a garage door that was almost black whatever surface I used. Somone told me to put lights behind it.

Another suggestion is plasticboxe's fix for broken EA lights. It doesn't really claim to fix your problem, it's just a suggestion for you to try. http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=389222

I tried putting lights behind and up around the courtyard, but that did not illuminate the walls enough to make the shade even. That, and it just didn't look good. I'll try the other thing. I'm not sure if it will work, but it is worth a shot. Thanks for the suggestion.
