View Full Version : How do the age sliders work?

Just to say, firstly, I haven't bought Generations yet.

One of the more interesting new options in Generations is what everyone is calling an "age slider." But what does it do? Does it change how long a certain life-stage lives (ie: you can make Teens live for 900 days and Elders live for only 2) or is it a per-sim slider so that you can twins who are the same age, older siblings, elders on the verge of death, etc?

No one seems to be talking about what EXACTLY this new option does and I'm interested.

It changes how long each life stage is to make if more realistic, for instance people are adults children, teens and elders for a lot longer than they are babies or toddlers so you can adjust for that. Meaning you can age Sims realistically with the toddler and infant lifespans being shorter than child, teen young adult, adult and elder- just like in real life.

Baby, toddler, child, young adult, adult, and elder. Each one has a slider that you can adjust to change the number of days in that life stage, individually, as well as the overall "Normal," "Long," etc. life setting. So instead of the default, you could have it like, Child for 12 days, Teens for 20, Young Adult for 33, Adult for 29, etc. but if you'd like, you can adjust those numbers up and down throughout a range based on how long their overall life is.

And it is global, not per individual Sims.

And you don't need to buy Generations to get it -- it's in the patch too, or so I believe.
