Hi: I'm trying to default replace my elderly (female meshes) & I'm a little confused as how to go about it. I know that I need todo one for top & one for the bottom in order for the ef to keep my default replacment shape when she's taking showers but, I don't have a clue as where to extract those gmdc's in order to make a def repl. package. AS for underwear that's easy I just make a recolor& extract the GMDC& replace it in the package. You see,I have a slimBB adult shape in the game& upon changing skintone on elderly male with slimBB skintone, the elderly gets to retain slimBB's shape in shower although, the only thing I've done for EM, is that I made some of slimBB's clothing available in simpe for them so,I don't understand how it can be that they retain slimBB body shape when naked?,cause I haven't changed any meshes for elderly male so,? Any help would be highly appreciated cause, I feel bad about their wifes looking so sagy..LOL when they themself look like they been drinking from fontain of life. :turtle:

This is a meshing question, here's a whoosh. I don't understand what whoosh means can you be clear? AS I understood from what you told me last time, default replacing was a bodyshop modding question. That's why I posted here. If you feel this is in wrong section again then please move this to the right section so, maybe I get an answer to my question& please be clear about this cause, as you told me last time default replacing was indeed a modding question that's why I followed your guide lines since you're the moderator. Either way I need an answer to my question that's why I posed. Thanks anyway.

Been a while but:
Open Simpe
click on the finder(binoculors)
choose namemap search
search for eftopnaked or nude and efbottomnaked or nude(i forgot)
When the files(gmdc's) popup double click one and it will bring you to the file in the gamefolder(This can take a moment)
Right click the file and extract(or export?)
When done with the 2 files click File/new
Right click in the Resource list and import the 2 files
Save as default replacement paclkage
Open the file again and import your custom meshes into both the top and bottom gmdc
Save

Save Hey how you doin, long time no see. Thanks Blooms buddy eventually I figured it out & I found them in sims3d 07. It worked good however my frustration is like this: I got the yguy looking like slimBB& the lady quite good looking &tight body with my own mesh but when they walk, they still walk that maxis old definition & I'm wondering if there's a way of permanently getting rid of that slougy walk. Any idea's.I mean there must be a way of adjusting that in simpe or some mod maybe?. Good to hear from you& many thanks. :turtle:

A 'whoosh' is when a moderator moves your post to the appropiate forum. Bodyshop Modding is a strange little place, but its for the technical aspects and problems with bodyshop content. If you are having trouble linking your mesh to your skintone or other regular mesh questions, its for Bodyshop Meshing instead. Taking an already working mesh package and doing the simpe magic to make it a default replacement and having trouble with that would be a Modding question, or changing the genetics or category of an outfit or skin or hair. It's a fine line, but see the difference?

Then you got to locate the elder female animation files and create a replacement package with those in it.
Then replace them with the animation of the adult.
No idea if this has be done already or even possible.
Edit,
Had a look at the files and while browsing them i decided to create a package.
Try it and see if it works, if you got serious problems with the animations then delete the files were the word Blend get mentioned.
Those files weren't available for Adults and i replaced those with non Blend files
Note,
I only did the walking files so when they stop walking they prolly end up in their saggy pose again :)
Edit,
It works :)

This question is concerning default replacment & that is according to the definition you have described. :|

Like you said,The ef looks saggy when standing still :faceslap: LOL Any idea how to fix that? I know this is possible but I'm also intesreted in changing or tweeiking voices like for an example what if one can combine some of tf facial/hands/vocal animations with that of af or vice versa. I think that would give a whole new intesting animation to the game. Anyway, where do I find thesese walking animations btw? &when I make a new package how do I extract animation? Is it like extracting a GMDC or do I export them & upon replacing, is it the same as replacing a mesh or import & replace? Thanks a lot Blooms for your help, I really appreciate the helping hand,(a bit scarce nowadays) :turtle:

You will find the files in sims00.package, both elder and adult are listed there.
I first extracted all elders that i wanted, you can do the same with the poses.
Create a new package and add them all to the package, same as with gmdc's
Save it as replacement.
Now best is to open 2 versions of simpe, one were you can extract the adult animations and the other version were your new package is open.
It is wat i did, i looked at the name of the elder animation file in my package, then searched for a similar one in the adult game files
I extracted that adult and imported it right back in in the elder package.
Also had explorer open and deleted the adult extracted file when i had imported it to keep the folder clean.
However,
If you update the elder file with a adult animation its name also gets changed.
So before i import the adult i copy the elder name, then i import the adult file, past the elder name back in the Filename box and then click commit.
Not 100% sure but i thought sounds were identified by name.
So you could change the name instead of importing a adult file.
Other then that it works the same.
I might create something similar for sims3 :)

I might create something similar for sims3 :) I looked thrue sim00 & i found ef idle animation&saggy look but, the problem is what to replace it with since adults don't have that. I can probably import that as well into the package & maybe can change some values but, I don't know which one's just to get rid of the saggy idle look. As for sounds & voices, the only thing I know is that when I look at sim description each sim has a particular set of numbers assigned to their voice. So, I'm not sure what you mean by the last sentece of sounds identified by name. How do you mean I can change their voices from age to age? I'm a little confused as what to do next. My primary goal is to modify the way tf & af sound & maybe can swap some justure/voices & or tweek them to make them as an instance tf /young adult female not sounding so rediculasly childish like maxis has made them sound. Is that possible? I would guess yes but,it's still a puzzle to me as how. The teen/YA voices & elderly walk style is what buggs me more than any other annoyances possible in this old game. You follow me Blooms? What if it was possible to make an individyuall female character sound like a tf or vice versa or an individual male character sound like an old man or a teen ager& again vice versa. There must be a way even if it hasn't been attemted before. :faceslap: Forever thankfull. :Pint:

You can replace it with watever animation you like :)
I found 2 for the elder idle and replaced them both with a adult pose(just a default breath loop)
Added them to the package.
It worked ingame but like with the walk animations i didn''t see all the animations i replaced!!!
Still can happen that(maybe when they are a ghost?) that the wrong animation will appear.
I can not help you with the sounds, prolly works diffrent then.

The part about the sounds & voices well,It's just an idea maybe someday someone is gonna mess with I don't know nothing about stuff like that but' it would be fun when it happens. Anyways thanks again Blooms for all you have done & I garra say ,You've got that talent & the joy of making fun things for sims that everybody can enjoy& that's no exeggeration. Have a nice day see you again. :turtle: :Pint:
