+ I would put more variety of wallpapers and floorings inside.
+ Maybe mix up a few different types of windows?
+ Add some different terrains throughout the landscaping.
What size of lot are you using?

Oh dear, huge lot! xD
I like the open-ness of it. Though I'd likely kill my computer trying to use that large of a lot. > .<

Better, yes. [:
By terrain I mean like add bumps under your trees, and add some brown under 'em too. Maybe put a little of brown around the ponds, for the muddy effect. [;

It looks like you've used autoroof, did you? When you're about to sumbit it to MTS you have to make the roof yourself, because autoroof usually looks fugly.
I may be wrong though and you didn't use autoroof. If not, try to add some variety in the roof, like gabled and hipped, not only hipped :)

This reminds me of what I used to build 10 years ago, and I miss all the stuff from sims2 :(
You don't need such a big house: Try looking at the diningtable with chairs, a sidetable and room around it to walk. Don't make the rooms bigger then they need. Use the extra space to break up the building inside and out with balconies. Try put the garage closer to the entrance, so you get lots of room for gardens. I would also use more little houses, put the garage in a small extention, to break up it up a bit.
I would build in the staircase. Have walls around it. Perhaps try making a staircase on a plattform so you can have a turn on it.
I would also pick a style on the house. Like say you want it to be italian, so go for windows and doors, balconies and use of space, and wall coverings to fit the style. It will make it easier to get something good out of it. If you're from the us, perhaps a classical stone mansion? Use it as a guide when you build.
Search for italian- or classical stone mansion on google. You will get lots of inspiration that way. Hope this was helpful :)

-Rose: For the roof you can use the cheat ; individualroofslopeangle # or roofslopeangle #
This could make it look less like a mountain, and more like a roof. [;

How about a pic of the backyard. Just to say, in a luxury house you have a pool. if you have a pool you might wanna add a ladder and a diving board. Trust me it's amazing how many people forget the ladder!

It's enormous! It's also very boxy. You don't need such enormous rooms!

Ok...... my two cents....... I personally like the large open landing you're using at the top of the main stairs. I can see a nice little seating area or something along those lines there. As for how large the rooms are, I like nice spacious rooms, however, they can be too big and I agree that some of the rooms are just that.
One way to tell if they're too big is when you decorate it you wind up with *huge* empty places or you're just putting anything you can think of to take up space, then its just too big. I'll plop a large piece of furniture in a room, like a large bed or the largest dining table when I'm building a room. It gives me a fair idea of how much room I'll need when I add the rest of the furniture. If the room dwarfs said piece of furniture, the room is probably going to be too big. Its one thing to leave some extra space for the players to add things for their sims, its another to have a huge room and only use 1/4 to 1/2 of it because there's nothing left to add to it.
Large rooms are workable if you plan on dividing them up with seating arrangements, screens, etc making them multipurpose rooms.
Its hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like you have 3 ponds. That seems a little much to me. I can't really tell from the pictures you're showing, but the roof looks like it needs a rework, particularly at the back.
It would help to have nice, big pictures looking straight down with the walls up as well as the front and (sometimes) the sides and back of the house. Also a picture of the roof. Something to consider when posting here, are the pictures you will have to provide when you submit the house. Its a good idea to post the same kind of pictures. When you show pictures with the cut away walls, that only makes big rooms seem bigger and emptier than they are. For me, anyway, that makes it harder to judge proportion with the walls down.

the house definitely is very boxy try to play with angles to see if it makes a difference. also in my opinion all the doors on the 2nd floor are too big for each room, in a normal house i dont see doors to bedrooms having big glass panes in them, it tends to make it a bit less private. the garage doesnt really look right at all. i would make it into a seperate building. it may also be better to use a stone fence around the lot, instead of a metal one.
also maybe use something other than siding on the house, that with the color of the windows doesnt really look right.
