Im not sure if this is just me or not but I thought I had met all the requirements for the ark lifetime wish but it hasn't happened. I've got:
Cats - two (one is an elder though, is this a problem)
Dogs - two
Horses - two
Birds - cardinal and parakeet (maybe this is the problem, do they need to be the bigger birds?)
Lizards - iguana and agama
Turtles - eastern box and western painted
Rodents - womrat and shrew
Snakes - yellow python and garter
Butterflies - mission blue and red admiral
Beetles - roach and water beetle
Ive only just thought about the birds thing - how do you get the big birds anyway?

Dunno about the requirements, but you get the big birds the same way you get smaller ones - pick 'em up out in the wilderness. There's a big parrot almost every day near the old watermill thingie in Appaloosa.

Thanks, will have a go at that tomorrow

Zoologist is the lifetime wish (Raccoon icon) to catch 20 creatures from the wild. Your sim has to be the one to collect them - can't have the cat doing it for you or anything.
There's another lifetime wish with "Ark" in the name (icon is a boat). That's the one to have two horses, cats, dogs, rodents, birds, lizards, snakes, turtles, beetles, and butterflies. I think that's all of them. I haven't tried this one yet to see if there are any restrictions on how you gain the pets.

It for the small animals only...snakes,rodents,turtles...etc....
also you don't have to keep them all before you get to 20...you can collect them and then sell them
right away if you want to...andit will still count towards the 20

Oops, I think it might be the ark one im trying to get then. Sorry, I was tired and frustrated when I posted last night. Its the one where you need two of everything.
It was suddenly granted out of the middle of nowhere, i think maybe you have to have everything for 24 hours or something. Anyway, sorted.

This LTW bugs me, because on the face of it it's the most challenging, but because you can actually make all the major pets in CAH with your sim, and you can buy the minor ones (there is apparently no restriction that they be the rarer varieties that you have to catch), it seems like you can fulfill it immediately after creating your sim, or at least as soon as you have enuogh money to buy all the minor pets. Has anyone tested this to see if it's true?
Was playing a zoologist sim for a while, and that was more challenging than I expected because you do have to catch your own... critters the cat catches for you (even if they bring em home and release em and you pick em up) don't count. However, my sim happened living in a house with a critter spawn point right behind it (Hydrangea Cottage or something like that, across from the dog park), so every couple of days he could pick something up without going anywhere ;) And you don't have to KEEP the critters to fulfill this LTW (he was selling em at the consignment store, which you can do with Twallan's Consigner), so, yeah... also kinda too easy, although at least it takes a certain amount of time :/
Edit: OK, I was right about the Ark LTW :p Made a household in CAH with one sim (Ark LTW) and two each of horses, dogs and cats. Plopped him on an empty lot and bought two each of the cages for birds, snakes, lizards, turtles and rodents, and stocked them. Then the only challenge was to keep him and them fed and alive overnight (put a locked fence around the minor critters to keep the cats and dogs from eating em ;) ), to give beetles and butterflies a chance to spawn (was a fresh game). Then it was just a matter of running around till he found two monarch butterflies and two cockroaches... voila... Ark LTW achieved :p
Didn't even need to take the butterflies and beetles out of his inventory!
I think that is a badly designed LTW :(
