Pets won't load?

Hello all~
I recently installed Sims 3 Pets and when I go to start the game it plays its little movie clip and then it goes to the load screen.
And that's it.
The bar doesn't move at all, those funny sayings don't scroll across the bottom and I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions? I was really excited to play this game and now it's not working :< Also, I'm not that great with computers so please keep the terms newb friendly, haha

I went through all that already and I haven't got any CC. I've only just installed the games.

So, with completely fresh user files, you get this problem? You reinstalled and patched and it didn't help?

Yup. Installed all the games, updated, patched, went to play and nothing.

Process Monitor: that can help in pinpointing the .package or whichever file that is causing the holdup.
