Invalid height map: the image has no PNG format

Hello, I apologize for my bad English. I used the google translator to post here.

A friend has the following problem, open the CAW and select the height map (*. png)

He says the picture is not *. png, but it is a *. png image.

The only time I've ever seen this, it was solved only by reinstalling CAW (so indicating a corruption in the install).

That may be the quickest thing to try if it won't open any PNG files; redownload from the Sims 3 site, backup the CAW user files (Documents\ Electronic Arts\ The Sims 3 Create A World Tool), uninstall and then install the new version.
