Is it possible to edit a current world in C-A-W?

I looked through my "Saves" file and the world is a .package file not .world, but is there any way to edit it at all?

I've added more lots & sims in the actual playable game and do not want to lose them!

Is it possible just to edit the sea level? Thanks!

You can edit the base world (i.e. how it started before you started playing it), but not the saved version of it.

plus you can always save the sims and lots to bin, and add them back after you have done your edits, but story progression, outside family relations and such might not be there.

After you edit your base world in CAW, you can always use Twallan's Porter mod to bring in your existing families and their friends.
