Yesterday, i downloaded multiple (somewhere around 20ish) new houses for my Sims 2 game. After unzipping them and moving them to my downloads folder, i tried to install them. Doing this, i received the following error:

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I would really like to use the homes, and i'm afraid this will also keep occouring in the future. Any help you can provide will be helpful.

Thanks

You need to read this: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Downloading_for_Fracking_Idiots_7

It really looks like the path is correct, but the program is unable to find the file.

After reading the FAQ, I'm still not sure what the solution is. We've been seeing a number of people with this problem recently. Would it be possible to explain exactly what the problem is, and what the solution is?

I believe G.O.C. linked to the FAQ to point out that having .sims2packs in the Downloads folder really isn't the best way of doing things, but not as a fix for the problem. And possibly also to plug S2PCI :p .

My first instinct is to suspect those nice redundant special characters in the filename as being the cause of the issue.

That makes sense. Perhaps I can repro this.

After messing around with the clean installer, I finally got it to work...and finally got all the packs installed @.@ ALL of them were origionally doing that; not just the one...so the characters in the name weren't to blame.

Thank you everyone for your input!

Exactly what did you do to make it work?
