I've been reading through the guides and tips on how to use the tomb trigger objects and hidden pressure pads and such but can't figure out what I want to do, or if it is even possible.

I'm building a Sports Bar and would like to have the TVs in there turn on automatically when a Sim arrives. I've placed an invisible pressure pad (the four tile green square) at the entrance to the bar and I've activated the "Add Ability For Triggers and Activated Behaviours" option on both items. I can't seem to link them though. The "Linked Triggers" option never appears on the TVs.

I'm guessing (but hoping I'm wrong) that this means TVs can't be controlled by pressure pads. I've managed to get a light turning on to link to the pressure pad, but not the TVs.

Any ideas or better still an idiot proof step-by-step run through for this scenario if it can be done?

That's strange, I can't give you much help because I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to using the tomb stuff. But if it does work which I think it should, that is a really cool idea

I'm guessing this isn't possible then? I've had no luck still and nobody else has stepped in to tell me it can be done.

I explored a bit with it in game, and I'm not having any luck either. I look at tomb building stuffs in "cause and effect" definitions. It seems televisions are "cause" only. :/

Awww nuts! Well that sucks. :(
I guess the only option I have now then is to make the TVs non-usable by NPCs so that they won't change channel or turn them off. Then I'll have to turn them on manually when my own Sims arrive.
Poo!
