This problem is now starting to really bug me! The videos The Sims 3 records in avi format will not play correctly on Windows Media Player 11. I have downloaded two codec packs (K-Lite and another one) but these files open, you can hear the audio but not see the visual. I get no error code or anything. I can almost use it with winamp but it won't play through to the end. I have a Windows 7 64bit laptop. The daft thing is I can play the video on the ancient Windows XP PC my mum has without the trouble I have gone to to try and get this working on the laptop. What do I actually need to view these stupid videos? Any ideas? Thanks.
Right...I have downloaded and installed XVid now as another friend suggested it to me and so far (fingers crossed) the avi's are playing again. Until Windows goes and breaks media player again! Hope this thread may help others so I will leave it as is but it could be closed if neccassary.
