I just started a new neighborhood/game with Empty Templates. Looks fine, runs fine, nobody in the neighborhood, but the Kats and Kim familys in the occupied houses bin seem to have survived the holocaust.

I've been told that it's safe to delete them from the bin if they've never been moved into the neighborhood. Is this correct? Otherwise I'll just put them in and either kill them off or use FFS-Lot Debugger to prep them for delete depending on how I'm feeling...

I still think its a VBT to delete anyone from the bin. Id just do the other options anyway just in case :)

The lot families are the only ones it's safe to delete from the bin, because they've never existed in a neighborhood, not even a Stealth one, and their code isn't entangled.

If it makes you nervous, though, put them in a neighborhood you never plan to play, and then they won't be in the bin but won't be deleted.

OP - you missed one of the empty templates if you still have sims in the bin. If you do it properly, there shouldn't be anyone and no files at all in the characters folder for the neighbourhood.

This is expected behavior. The Lot Bin families are not stored in either the TSData\Res\UserData\Neighborhoods folder or TSData\Res\NeighborhoodTemplate folder, so empty templates will have no effect on them at all.

Instead, they are stored in the TSData\Res\UserData\LotCatalog folder. You can safely remove them from your installation folder, if you don't want them (backup first), or you can wait until they are added to your in-game Lot Bin and safely delete them from there.

Oh sorry - you did say they were in the lot bin - got mis-footed there. Yes, you can delete those families. Sorry.
